2 YULIAN ROSENCOFFEN

On the west of the continent of Eanegor, there was a mountain range named Coronet Mountain Range. The mountains forming the mountain range were looking like the peaks of a king's coronet. Its name came from this unusual landscape.

On the middle of the mountain chain, a few mountain peaks were unusually flat. It was like someone cut them off from the midst.

On this flattened peaks, there were magnificent castles, a total of five of them. All were made up from blackish red stones shaped like a rectangle.

Between the castles, there were passageways, connecting the castles from the middle of them.

Decorations were looking amazing. Anyone who was looking at this representation could understand, the people residing in this place couldn't possibly be ordinary folk.

This place was called the Red Castle of the West, the peak power of the Western Region of the continent of Eanegor.

The back of the Red Castle was looking at the Shady Sea. The sea's name came from the giant clouds that were always making shadows upon the Red Castle and the sea.

In the middle castle, there was a luxurious room. Its windows were looking at the Shady Sea. There wasn't much light coming from the windows, but still, there was a youth in the room, facing a tall mirror.

His upper body was naked, or you could say he was wearing bandages all over his upper body, including his face. Only his black hair and blue eyes were visible.

He was removing the bandages on him slowly.

His degenerated skin gradually revealed. He was looking like someone who had taken a bath in an acid tank. It was a horrible sight to eyes.

This boy was the young master of the Red Castle!

When his father, Martintor had learned about his main wife was about to give birth a son, there were traces of happiness on his unfeeling face. Of course, it had disappeared after he saw his son looking like a little abomination.

Martintor had taken him immediately to the Chief Medical Master of the Red Castle, to Mitraff Rosennor. After a detailed medical examination, Mitraff couldn't point out what was his problem. All he could understand was, starting from outside of the baby's body, his vitality has begun declining. On top of that, he didn't even have a Dantian, a set of meridians and energy channels. There wasn't even any trace of his father's bloodline in him. This meant that he wouldn't live long, can't cultivate the slightest bit of energy or any kind of body tempering techniques. He was a total cripple.

According to Mitraff, it could only be an unknown disease. He knew what was happening in his body, yet he couldn't understand the reason. Naturally, he wasn't capable of curing him.

From the day he became aware of himself until today, Red Castle's young master's life was unbearable for him. Except for his mother, everyone stayed away from him and treated him like air.

With time, rumors has spread all around the continent. They said the heir of Red Castle was a degenerated trash. A useless piece of garbage.

Martintor has long been sick of his existence. Finally, he couldn't endure the gossips and forbid him from showing himself in public. His name didn't mention ever again and became a taboo in the family.

Thus he grew up to a very gloomy kid. Especially, the recent years of his life were extra unbearable. Today he was 13 years old, and there were many bullies in his life. They didn't dare physically harm him, but verbal abuse was always at present. Occasionally, the family members he encountered would throw him harsh and disdainful words, sometimes even to his mother.

He could turn a deaf ear to the words against him, but when his mother was the one cursed at, his anger was making a peak instantly. But all he could do was, clenching his fists tightly and running away.

There was a similar situation today. Here he was changing his bandages that got bloody during the run.

He could be at fault because he was born like this. But his mother was innocent. He already caused her enough burden with his existence, and she was the only person who truly cared about him. He couldn't stand anyone who was talking wrong about his mother.

He was just about to finish changing his bandages, the door's creaking sound of opening reached his ears. The one who appeared at the entrance was none other than his mother, Clarea Rosencoffen.

She was an absolute beauty. Raven black, waist-length hairs with a pair of deep blue eyes were creating a stunning combination at this moment. Her fair skin was whiter than the first snow of the year and looking smoother than the icy jades. She was wearing a blue one-piece dress on her tall and curvy body. It was a truly captivating scene to witness.

Yulian wondered while looking at his mother. She was so beautiful. In the Red Castle family, men were inherently handsome, and girls were inherently beautiful. He should have good genes, how come he has born like a freak of nature? He sighed and walked towards Clarea, "Mother."

Clarea walked near him and held him in her bosom, "Did they make you uncomfortable again? I told you, just don't care about what they say. "

"They said this disease came from your blood. When they talk wrong about you, I can't stand it." Yulian looked at her face, and Clarea loosened her hug.

"Neither you nor I can do anything about it. Let them talk. I don't care what they say about me. You also should not care."

"But…" Yulian's words cut by Clarea's forefinger.

"No buts. Listen to mother" Yulian nodded. He knew that pursuing the matter would not lead him anywhere. "Anyway, do you know about the annual competition? It seems like this family competition will be a little different than the ones in the past. There are some guests who want to join in. They came from…"

"Of course I know. How can I not know?" Yulian cut Clarea's words as his eyes sparkled. It was a rare sight nowadays.

However, his eyes dropped after a moment. "But… father forbid me from showing myself to the public, even among the spectators. You had warned me before. Even if I hide, someone might tell him, since I am too eye-catching in a different way." Said Yulian, disheartened.

Clarea chuckled victoriously and spun a key around her forefinger, "heh he, your mother thought about everything. This key opens the room beneath the Upper Echelon Seats. Since you don't have any cultivation, Martintor won't be able to sense you or anyone can see you in that room."

She handed the key to Yulian and grabbed his face between her hands. Looking at his eyes, "All you need to do is going there before the spectators, and try not to draw attention on yourself. Be quick, you don't have much time." said Clarea, while gently smiling.

Yulian's heart filled with warm feelings. "Thanks, mother. I love you!" He took his hooded coat and headed towards the door excitedly.

When the topic is the cultivators, he was becoming hot-blooded in no time. There was an intense desire in him, to become someone he could not possibly become.

"Didn't you forget something?" Said Clarea, leaning towards the wall near the tall mirror.

On top of the table, beneath the bloody bandages, there was a pendant made from a smooth grey rock.

Yulian abruptly stopped, "I almost forgot that." He grabbed the pendant and left the room immediately.

Clarea sighed after him. He was still a boy after all.

Yulian liked to walk along the coastline of the Shady Sea. Occasionally, he would bring back strange things he found, and show them to Clarea. Not long ago, he had found a perfectly elliptic grey rock. He read a lot, so he knew what it was.

Despite not having any use, the rock was truly special. People called it 'the indestructible rock'. Indeed, it was indestructible, but that was all. On the continent, there was many of them with various shapes and sizes. The rock on the pendant can be considered a bigger end one, and it had a perfectly elliptic shape.

He took a liking in it, and made a pendant from it for himself.

However, there was a second strange point about the rocks. It didn't come from the mines. It wasn't metal or mineral. Occasionally, someone would find one here and there. This fact made people come to the conclusion of that the rocks were probably pieces of some meteor. Again it was a groundless proclamation. But people had believed it since there wasn't any other explanation.

Red Castle Arena was located near the Shady Sea. It was circular, like a gladiator pit. Spectator stands had placed on a high point for a good view.

In order to reach there, Yulian would have to go down many stairs and pass a long hall. Since he was frequently visiting his mother, and these places couldn't be considered public places, there wasn't a problem him passing there.

However, today was the competition day.

He ran down the stairs and was currently running in the hall. Just he was about to turn a corner, he bumped into something soft and bouncy!

This unexpected accident, caused him to fall on his rear end. A moment later, he came to himself and looked upwards from the ground. He didn't know that the eyes he was looking at at this moment will have been deeply embedding themselves in his memories eternally.
