5 ANDERAFF VERSUS JORAFF

Yulian has always been an admirer of cultivators. Whenever there was a match in this arena, he would come and watch it with Clarea attentively.

However, today was different from previous times. He has been alone in the storage room, but still completely immersed in the competition until the point he forgot that he was alone.

He couldn't understand, how do the cultivators do those flashy moves? Why couldn't he do the same? What has his problem been all this time?

He has been asking these question to himself until today without waiting for an answer.

When he asked this questions to Clarea, she didn't give him a clear answer. Afraid of hurting Yulian, she chose to limit the info she was giving him about the cultivators. More appropriately, she was also protecting herself by not telling him.

She was also in pain as much as Yulian was in. Despite her status in the Red Castle, she too was discriminated. Martintor's other concubines have been staring daggers at her whenever they saw her. The elders have not been looking at her way. Especially, Martintor has become like a stranger to her. Therefore, she started to show herself in public less and less.

Red Castle family was her family, so she didn't want to cause more trouble for them. Discriminating herself was the solution she found because she knew what kind of society this continent had. She couldn't possibly do anything about people's mouths.

But she was a mother. She thought that she could do anything, bear everything that's to come for her child. That's why she chose not to tell him anything about cultivators. If he knows less, he suffers less she thought. To a loving mother, this could be considered an appropriate decision.

Of course, Yulian has been aware of his mother's thoughts. So he stopped asking questions. He was a degenerated trash but not a stupid person.

Despite her mother's concerns, Yulian still wanted to be here. Even Clarea wanted him to be here.

This clearly showed one fact of the world. Instincts will always be there… A mother was still a mother… and a hungry soul wouldn't be able to restrain itself.

Today, in the entire universe, only one existence did know that what kind of monster was about to born! And that is I, the observer of the monster!

Yulian has been watching attentively.

Many of the family's disciples that he saw before entered the arena one by one and matched with their respective opponents. After the starting sign, some of them surrendered, and some of them started to do those flashy moves.

Yes! It was just like that for him, flashy moves! He could somehow understand that they weren't serious at all.

Then something he had never seen before happened, his brothers, Anderaff and Joraff took the stage.

He had never seen them in the arena before. On top of that, it looked like they were about to fight!

Yulian opened his eyes wide! This will be the best of all I have ever seen so far, he thought.

"This time, I can't go easy on you little brother," Anderaff said while looking at Joraff.

The current performances of the disciples were simply no good. Martintor had looked at them that way because he wanted them to put a good show for the spectators. He had even given them Red Castle's best swords beforehand.

Anderaff drew his Illusion of the West out of nowhere. It was a broadsword with a light red blade. On the blade itself, there were many runes that etched on. If looked carefully, one could see that the runes were moving, sometimes completely fading and reappearing.

Despite the fancy blade itself, the hilt was quite plain looking.

On the other hand, Joraff was holding a longsword. It was a little longer than a normal longsword and had a strange pale white color. Except for this strangeness, there was nothing worthy to talk about it. However, the longsword had a quite fitting name for itself. Its name was Blind Justice.

"Big brother doesn't need to hold back, otherwise, how will we please that arrogant young master?" Joraff said, crimson qi enveloping his body crazily. Then he held high his Blind Justice with two hands and pounced towards Anderaff with a downward slash attack.

Anderaff smirked and dodged to the side with a swift move. However, Joraff's 'blind' combo had not finished yet. He was attacking relentlessly like a mad warrior would do.

Joraff looked like swinging Blind Justice blindly while Anderaff continued to dodge nimbly. At least, that was what most of the onlookers saw.

"Castle Master, let me guess! That broadsword is the renowned 'Illusion of the West', and the longsword is 'The Blind Justice', am I correct?" Meng Heng said with a smile.

"Young Master Meng is quite knowledgeable about the west," Martintor answered back without looking at him. He was slowly getting irritated by Meng Heng.

"Forgive this young master but… does the sword's name come from the blind people who used it before? Your son swung that sword at least fifteen times but couldn't even manage to collide it with 'The Illusion of the West'." Said Meng Heng sardonically.

Martintor sighed. "Young Master should look carefully. If you do, you'll naturally understand why it is called 'Blind Justice'."

Meng Heng frowned a little and looked back arena more carefully. Then he discovered, wherever 'Blind Justice' landed, there was a small explosion of dust and dirt.

Despite the sword not having much weight, every blow had a blast effect like an ultra greatsword would have. Currently, there were quite a few small holes in the arena.

Anderaff was dodging all the time because he wasn't foolish enough to collide his sword with Blind Justice directly.

He was a patient guy. Soon, there would be time for a counter-attack.

He was waiting for a larger move from Joraff.

Joraff held the Blind Justice horizontally with two hands, opened the distance between his two legs, bending them forty degrees from his knees at the same time. Apparently, he took a stance for a sword art.

'Here it comes!' Anderaff thought. He pushed his senses to the max and waited.

"Crimson charge!!!" Joraff shouted out and darted towards Anderaff like a wild beast.

Crimson Qi around his body mostly spread to the sword and had a deeper color than before.

Just about to finish his charge attack, Joraff made a slashing move towards Anderaff.

There was still a small distance between them. If it was a normal attack, the attack would not reach Anderaff at all.

The crimson qi concentrated on Blind Justice's blade edge and burst out towards Anderaff with a much higher speed.

Joraff looked at the Qi wave that he had discharged with all his might. Then his eyes tried to focus Anderaff's position. He was eager to see the result of his sword technique.

However, just before Joraff's eyes adjusted to the distance, he felt a heavy impact on his two hands, causing him to drop The Blind Justice.

A moment later, a cold light red blade was applying strength to his chin, making his throat more open to the spectators.

In Joraff's frontal vision, there wasn't any trace from Anderaff. Then he looked at his right, Anderaff was holding The Illusion of the West to his throat with a cool stance.

"Anderaff's victory!" Vikrice bellowed again.

Anderaff withdrew the sword from Joraff's chin. There was a confused expression on Joraff's face like he was silently asking 'what the hell happened?'.

"When you had finished your 'Crimson Charge', Anderaff used 'Mute Steps' and dodged it easily. If you had not used a technique that slow, you would have seen that how Anderaff dodged the Qi wave." Vikrice said like a teacher giving his lecture.

"After dodging, he had used Mute Steps again and hit your hands with the back of The Illusion of the West. AND AGAIN, you had looked at the Qi wave instead of your opponent. If you had been on a battlefield, you would have died before realizing what had actually happened. I am truly disappointed in you. Sigh…" Vikrice gave his scolding.

'Joraff would have sensed the incoming attack on his hands beforehand if the sword in question had not been the Illusion of the West.' He left these words unsaid because he thought this way was better for Joraff.

The Illusion of the West had an effect that masked its user's presence. Adding the Mute Steps on top of that, there was another layer of concealing effect on Anderaff. Thus Joraff could not feel a thing in the process.

Of course, Joraff was at fault here because of his hot-blooded actions. Even though the sword in question was not the Illusion of the West, the end result wouldn't be much different.

"Will this be enough big brother?" Joraff sent a sound transmission to Anderaff while both of them were bowing towards the high seats.

"We wouldn't be able to please that fellow no matter what we do anyway. Leave that to Royal Father. You don't have to bother yourself about it." Anderaff replied.

Yulian had watched the match between his brothers attentively. However, it was an utter disappointment for him.

Since his brothers were at the peak of the young generation in the Red Castle, Yulian thought they would be better than other participants. But he was wrong, except for being much more flashy, the fight was the same in the foundation. There weren't any thrill in it at all.

Yulian couldn't say it out loud, but he felt like something important was missing. Maybe he did watch many fights before and became full of it. He didn't know what it was.
