19 19. Hot, but cold

Rira Alona tried easing her injured shoulder, but only to winches in pain. Damn, it hurt like hell! It's been a while since her last injuries in previous life. Suddenly, she felt a looming shadow from above. She reacted by jumping backwards, ready to strike an attack. But, what entered her eyes was Xavier Lu who standing at her original place with a hand hanging on the air. She frowned.

" What are you trying to do?" She hissed, feeling uncomfortable for overreacting. Xavier Lu chuckled at her guarded act.

" I'm just taking a look. Do you bring any medical oils or plaster?" He asked after putting down his lifted hand. Rira Alona suspiciously staring at him, but nod. He went to the bench and pulled open her bag. There was a box of plaster and a bottle of massage oil.

" You should stop training tonight. A sparring session were enough already for you." Xavier Lu gestured to her while opening the box. He took out two plasters, ready to put it on her.

" I can do it myself," Rira Alona reached out and snatched the plasters from his hands. The man didn't speak, just standing there looking at her doing it herself. He saw her put the plaster with ease, as if it is not her first time doing it.

" Why are you so free tonight?" Rira Alona asked, feeling weird about him being here. He should staying doing his job right now. Because of her interference in his task this evening, he should have many reports to do. Xavier Lu rolled his eyes.

" You do know what troubles you bring upon me, kid. Luckily, nobody saw it." Xavier Lu sat down, taking out his cigarette and lit it.

Rira Alona huffed while blowing her bang, " Whatever. I'm doing good by saving the child, anyway." She squats down, starting a cool down session. She thought to stopped for the night.

Xavier Lu hold back from snorting at her I-don't-care expression. Saving the victim was an act of kindness. However, giving others the trouble lead to another big trouble. Just like him.

He ran off from the work by escaping the upcoming troublesome report. If he waited for another minutes, then he's done for. Especially when the person in charge of the report was that troublesome fellow. Thinking about that person, Xavier Lu cringed for awhile.

While in trance, Xavier Lu heard Rira Alona spoke up. " I'm going back."

He saw her stood beside him while taking out a water bottle from her bag. Their distance was only a half-hand away. His eyes stuck on her as his sight fell on her exposed sweating belly. That slim, muscled stomach attracted his eyes to stared blatantly. Rira Alona's lips twitches at his bold staring. Without a word, Rira Alona put her jacket back to her body.

The blocked line of sight made Xavier Lu snapped from his world. He grunts, feeling dissatisfied at the covered body. What's more, some part of his body already reacted properly.

A healthy man, indeed...

Hooking away her bag, she turned to leave. She teased while waving hand off, " Take care of 'that' by yourself. Ciao~" Her laughter brought a deep blush on his face. What a naughty kid!

"...and a troublesome one, though..." He mumbled. Picking up the buzzing phone, he sighed while seeing the name on the screen.

" What's up?"

"[Don't go 'What's up' on me, damn it! Are you a fuc*king idiot?! Why the fu*ck you let a high-schooler using your damn gun?! Are you nuts?!!]" A loud, angry roar blasting through the speaker.

Xavier Lu scratching the tip of his nose, awkwardly trying to eased up the big trouble Rira Alone brought upon himself. " That...Leo, she just helping us...-!"

" [Helping your a*ss!! What, are those people on the mission are so useless that you need a fu*cking high-schooler to make a shot?! Are you insane!? Not only she release the shots, she also left her fu*cking fingerprints on the gun! Bas*tard! If you want to cover it up, you no longer can do it! Those sly fogies already caught a wind about this fu*cking mess!!]" The man at the end of the call let out another barrage of foul languages, rendering Xavier Lu speechless.

How unfortunate!

They already know?! Indeed sly oldies!!

Just how many spies they put in their department?

By the matter-of-fact, he was indeed in the wrong. Letting a minor touching his gun was unacceptable and dangerous. If this kind of news were made public, their department will be dissolve immediately. Involving a normal citizen in their mission are uninvited if following the normal procedure. However, the girl didn't participate in the mission from the start as she can be seen as an outside element.

Or, in a simple term was a suspect. Although she was not one of the kidnappers, her involvement would cause people felt suspicious about her intentions. She can be seen as highly suspicious and the authorities will conducts investigation by questioning her endlessly.

"[Bring her to the station by tomorrow morning. If you wanted to stop this matter from getting bigger and uncontrollable, its better for her to come makes report about her involvement in using the gun and the case. That was the best possible path for us to cover her. If not, they wouldn't letting her go easily.]" Leo, finally calming down. The past already in the past, they can't rewind the previous mistake to solve it. At most, the girl will get scolds and that bas*tard Xavier Lu will get demoted.

" Arghhhhh! What a mess!!" Leo almost throws his cellphone because of stress.

"[Bring her here by tomorrow morning. By hook or by crook.]" Leo ended the call before the man could protests. This matters actually not that big. Based on their experiences alone, the girl precision in shooting was very high. Almost no strayed bullets or wasted bullets from her small hands. It's highly accurate.

If they could recruit her to join military, they believes she won't refused. But, what if...she refused? Another waves of headache struck his nerves.
