13 13. Official meeting

Rira stood in shock. The man was the same person from this morning. She aware about the man existence in the alley. He never revealed himself to others, but silently standing in the dark, observing people. He behaved like a spy. And she believes this person by no means ordinary people. He's a somebody with status or power. His air of authority oppressive enough to intimidated people. That feeling of nobility coming from within his bones was inborn and deep.

Dealing with a noble was nothing strange to Rira Arow in the past. As an ace warrior of the kingdom, she often accompany the ruler, ministers and nobles daily. Under the rule of Emperor-Commander figure in Howard Kingdom, Rira Arow was one of the leading generals in battling armies. She might be no longer that figure in the past, however, this person alone struck her with a sense of familiarity of the past.

A born ruler.

Apart from that, this man has a face that could rival an immortal. She couldn't find any feminity on that face, but to call him otherworldly was not an exaggerated. A drop-dead gorgeous.

He sat down, crossing his long-leg on the empty space beside her belongings. He pulled out a box of cigarettes, tapping a stick out. After lighting it, he looked up, staring back at her. This set of actions enter her eyes one by one without fail. Until their eyes meet, another waves of feeling struck Rira uncomfortable.

" We meet again," The man said with a playful tone.

Rira's right eye twitched, " I don't think we know each other," She replied, plainly. The man chuckled.

" Yes, but not quite right. We already met this morning." The man inhale the smoke, before releasing it through his mouth.

" Sorry, I don't remember." Rira turned around and walked to the ending point to restart her training course. She had no time to chatting or talking with him. She decided to ignore the man completely and forget about the morning matters.

She don't know him. That's all.

" Xavier Lu. Nice to meet you again, student Rira Alona."

Rira stopped and faced him with a chilling gaze. Her frosty eyes narrowed as she looked back at the man that still sitting leisurely on the bench while holding a small notebook she brought over. It made her heart palpitates.

" What the hell are you looking at?!" Rira snapped. She storm over, trying to get back the notebook. But the man evade her hand swiftly by pulling it upwards. She stopped when almost crashed into his generous chest. She stepped backwards, flustered.

" You are rude, mister!" Rira spat out, feeling uncomfortable and annoyed at the man's behaviour.

Xavier Lu chuckled, but didn't comment it out. He aware about his rudeness, but this girl was quite mysterious in some ways. He checked her background, but found nothing extraordinary. She's was normal from head to toe, in and out.

That was her from three days ago. Afterwards, the current her was completely a different people. She started showing the out of blue change in character. Her mannerisms and interests getting stranger by days. And that shows of strength in the cafeteria was something the past Rira Alona never did.

Or...was this the real her from the start? Thinking back, he starting the undercover work in this neighborhood three days ago, the same day he found her. Is she deliberately hiding the strength from the start? In the information, he found that some time ago, she had a huge fight with her best friend. Was this a trigger for her to fight back?

" Say, are you interested in having sparring partner?" Xavier Lu turns the conversation into another way. This sudden turn caught Rira off guard.

" What makes you think that I need a sparring partner?" Rira crossed her arms around her chest.

" Easy. Your eagerness in building strength are obvious enough to me." Xavier Lu put back the notebook on her bag.

" That's none of your business." Rira scoffed and turned back to continue her training.

Looking at that sexy sweating back, Xavier Lu's eyes flashed with something unclear. He said, " Also, it won't be that fun to train by yourself." He put off the cigarettes light with his fingers, and throw it into a nearby trashcan.

" So what?" Rira made a low jump, but quickly squatting down in flash, evading the sudden side-kick from the man. Her feet swept to the back, trying to attack. Xavier Lu raised his arms to shield his face from the back-spin kick.

Thud!

"....." Xavier Lu's eyes twitching, appalled at the heaviness of her kick.

" Are you deliberately targeting my face, girl?" Xavier Lu's felt his teeth itching. Such brutality enough to makes a dent on his face.

" You asked for it, mister." Rira smirked and started a torrent of attacks on him. He wanted a fight? Then, she gives him one!

In no times, the two people already exchanging more than twenty blows. Both of them refused to hold back or surrender after tasting each other strengths. Xavier Lu willing to believe this girl already received a professional training from childhood with this level of ruthlessness. Each of her blows were deadly enough to kill a veteran war soldier. To call her a trained killer was not exaggerated at all.

Rira's heart beating faster and harder when facing this strong man. His sharp blows almost gets her injured or crippled. She might be fast, but this man faster than her. Every moves of his were deadly and brutal. Without her killing moves from the past, she might already beaten down to pulp. The man was so unfathomable and deep. She couldn't measure up his strength after exchanges blows with him. She dared to bet this man still hiding his full strength.
