Coming Back

Clang! Clang!

The sound of metals clashing...

"Defend our kingdom!" "Kill the enemy!"

The sounds of soldiers crying for their motherland...

The waft of blood and the pile of dead bodies...

This is the outcome of the two kingdoms dispute. The outcome was this - War.

The battle always ended up as truce - either running out of soldiers or out of exhaustion on both sides. After the round of battling in the fields the soldiers on both sides would retreat to plan out their next battle of the opposing kingdoms. There had been records of the other kingdom winning but in turn the other would retaliate resulting in another battle between two kingdoms.

The camp would always be filled with an air of depression of losing comrades in the battlefield, but they have to get their selves up because the entire kingdom is relying on their shoulders. The soldiers would always vow to fight till the end for the sake of protecting their families back home.

-Barracks of the Kingdom of Cristia-

"General! We cannot continue this way. We keep losing too many soldiers" the man that has a youthful face frustratingly said while slamming the table where a topographic map is placed.

It seems they were planning there next mode to counterattack their enemy - Celemence.

"True... it hasn't been this serious considering the past history of wars" the man sitting in a chair with a stern face pondering over the matter.

The tent became silent after the two men spoke up.

A grunt was then heard, it seems it came from the man facing his back. Anyone would not believe this seemingly young man has conquered the rank - General. Well the people of Cristia would believe so, as this man is terrifying in the battlefield, its unnecessary to discuss how many lives were slewed by him. After a few seconds of silence the General then spoke up with a sigh.

"We'll think about this later. Rest up first"

"But General-" the man with a youthful face was about to interrupt.

"We'll discuss this later" the General said with a forceful tone.

"Yes!" "Yes!"

The two saluted and left the room one pondering over the matter and another being dismayed about the situation. The one pondering is Lieutenant General Roan - The one famously known for his newly established strategies. It is said he is a genius of this generation in strategies but don't underestimate his strength, he wasn't called the right hand of the General for nothing. While the other being dismayed is Major General Chase - He is known for his mighty strength despite his youthful appearance he is bloodthirsty when he steps into the battlefield. The one called the left hand of the General is known to be a killing machine.

After the two left the General sighed and left the room too.

He went towards a clean tent that was guarded by two royal knights. Upon entering one could see a breathtaking young man sitting in front of a table. From his grandiose aura you can tell he is not someone ordinary. Judging from his slightly bowing face you can tell he is of royalty. The iconic platinum gold hair, chiseled face, and sharp beautiful golden eyes. His beauty was inexplicable itself by nature.

"Your Highness" the general said while bowing down as to show respect.

"Oh Marcus, you're here." said the handsome man finally shifting his focus from the papers on the table to his friend - Marcus.

"Prince Leonard, stop calling me by my name, in the camp especially" Marcus said it one by one with an irked tone, sighing at this too carefree friend of his.

Prince Leonard - The crown prince of the Kingdom of Clemence. The oldest of the siblings, is known to be The Cold Prince - as the citizens would prefer to call him. Judging from his intimidating aura and cold stares, you could tell why he was called so.

He was known to be a genius at the age of four already able to recite the previous kings and would be able to confidently say their contributions, the date of their birth and death, their queens, their sons and daughters, what they are known to be called etc. At the age of 8 he was able to memorize the books in the library. At the age of ten he was a master of chess and since then no one was able to contend against him. Age 12 when he mastered the sword.

Basically, he is known to reach the prime of being genius. With great people by his side, people were hoping that the battle with the other kingdom would finally end this century old war.

A chuckle that feels like a cool breeze sounded.

" You say that so, but you are actually speaking casually to me."

The General - Marcus deadpanned at his friend's remark. " ..."

"Okay, let's go back to business." Prince Leonard said with a serious cold face that could freeze anyone, leaning back to the chair. That's what his face usually would look like, only to people close to him would he show his comfortable demure. "What do you think of the situation right now?"

"Yes, Your Highness. The supplies is still enough to last the soldiers for half a year another two month or so we would request the kingdom to gather more supplies for the upcoming battle. There were slightly more casualties this time, considering the previous battles decades ago. It seems it started with the reign of King Dominique."

Hmm... so it seems that they are planning something, considering the crafty schemes of that man." Prince Leonard said while putting his hands up to his cheeks to think about something. A habit that he had developed when he was thinking of something - a charming habit as the noble girls would say so.

While thinking of something, Prince Leonard seemed to remember something.

"I'll bring up the matter over your supplies when I come back. These days, mother has been pestering me when I will come back." Retracting his domineering aura, he said it towards the General-his friend.

General Marcus's eyebrow twitched. ' Well, its because you are here for almost like a year now. '

Annoyance and relief could be seen in his stiff face, although it was just a fleeting moment Prince Leonard still saw through it but he just keeps his smiling face to annoy his friend more. General Marcus asked converting back to his usual demeanor "When are you leaving?"

"I'll be leaving today." Prince Leonard said while standing preparing to leave the tent tor ride the carriage.

A silent sigh of relief was seen in General Marcus while facing Prince Leonard's back.

Prince Leonard was by riding the carriage when he said "Don't worry, I'll be back again"

While General Marcus was bowing to bid the prince goodbye, you could see his shoulders slightly stiffening.

"My dear friend, I would appreciate it if you could never come back again. I don't want the wrath of Her Highness" General Marcus said while watching the carriage going towards the Kingdom.
