Mars suddenly felt as if he was struck by lightning when he heard Emmelyn's next words.

As it turned out, Emmelyn had not changed. She still wanted revenge. She just changed her target. At first, she wanted to kill Mars, but now her intention had changed. Now, she wanted to kill King Jared, Mar's father.

"How are you going to kill my father?" asked Mars in a choked voice. "Before you can even touch him, you will surely die. My father is surrounded by formidable king's guards."

Never mind killing the king, just getting close to him would be difficult for the girl. Mars knew Emmelyn was not a weak girl and she could wield a sword, but her abilities were nothing compared to the king's guards.

Mars did not want to lose the girl because she was sentenced to death by the king for the attempted assassination.

"How can you dream of killing a king?" Mars asked, shaking his head.
