The Gathering II

They followed the man that lead them going through doors and curtains until they finally reached a room where only five people sat, the old man inclusive only this time, he didn't look very old. He looked fifty or at most mid fifties. Some weird things were really happening in this cave.

"Are these the two?" The used to be old man asked and Charles replied by nodding his head in affirmation. The man stood from his seat and walked up to them and placed his hand on their head.

Justin felt this unusual wave of electricity travel through his brain, it was as if something was flowing in his head and it wasn't under his control. He remembered having this sensation when he heard the man make him announcement earlier. He tried to move the man's hand from his head but it seemed like his body wasn't moving. It was as if he was trapped in this state of sleep paralysis only without the terrifying hallucinations. He could feel that he was awake but his body was completely numb he knew nothing about what this man was doing to him.

Ashley felt a foreign presence invade her mind, she could clearly feel something scavenging through her memories and she didn't like the sensation about it. She felt robbed, and with only instincts and thoughts, she managed to block off this intrusion and physically, she felt the man's touch on her head withdraw.

She opened her eyes and for some reason, her entire body felt weak. And soon she was on her knees panting and sweating. She could feel five pair of eyes staring down at her and could also see the man still holding unto Justin's head. She attempted to stop him but her body failed her and she was back to her knees doing her best to regain her energy.

She had no idea what had happened, seconds ago, she was fine and now, she could barely lift a finger. Something was up and she knew it had something to do with the man's touch.

Justin's eyes flung open immediately the man's hand withdrew from his head. He turned to see Ashley on the floor, sweating and panting. He immediately crouched low to her level and helped her up.

"Are you okay?" He asked the girl who nodded to his question.

"The Browns" The man who had touched their head spoke, his eyes locked with those of Charles who stood opposite the man.

They noticed that only one girl sat amongst the remaining three who only sat still since they stepped in without saying word. She wore black throughout and had huge spectacles covering her eyes as if she didn't want any part of it to be seen at all.

The two men had finally broken eye contact and the two siblings had already made out the fact that they were communicating telepathically during that moment their eyes were locked.

Charles nodded to some unheard instructions and soon, they were trailing behind him once more out of the room to a more secluded area

Only three of them stood now in a poorly illuminated room waiting for something or someone to appear but none did.

Charles didn't know how to start, but he knew he had to tell them everything that his namesake had relayed to him. Their grandfather was the cause of everything that was currently happening to then at the moment. From what King had told him, their grandfather had a twin, and they never got along. His twin brother had joined the Satan's Guild while he the Advocates and soon they were leaders of their respective societies but when the Advocates grew stronger than the Guild, his brother had turned on him and killed his first son and daughter and took hostage of his last son Franklin.

Out of fear, the man had performed a ritual, binding his son and his generations to come to the Advocates which made them automatic members.

Things had only gotten worse when Franklin was initiated into the Guild, their grandfather could no longer bear it, the thought of his child being in a group that took delight in hellish practices. He would prefer them dead than being in the Guild and he had taken his life, and before he died, he had baptized his two grandchildren in his own blood.

From what King had relayed to him, their parents had recently found out about this and planned to take the places of their children in the cult. Their father did not want his children being part of a society that had cost him his childhood and a family .King had agreed to their choices knowing well about the tale of Simon Brown their grandfather. He had accepted the terms of their parents but on the day of their initiation, they had ended up dead in a car accident that they knew nothing about.

It was only possible that the Guild had learnt of their past explaniably from their uncle Franklin. And grandchildren of Simon Brown, one of the most powerful Advocates in history who knew nothing about themselves were the perfect candidate for whatever they had in mind. Being baptized in Simon's blood definitely meant that they must have inherited sone of his abilities and that would definitely add to their power scaling.

They had decided that it was their uncle who would go after them, as expected of the guild. Doing abominable things was as easy as blinking to them. But Franklin had failed, he couldn't carry on with the thought of killing his own blood and had allowed himself to be captured. So the then proceeded to send a grade one Guild member after two siblings who knew nothing of what was going on.

After much silence and hesitation, Charles had relayed to them everything that he had understood except for one fact that he wasn't allowed to say.

Their abilities had began to manifest.
