The Cryomancer's Path

Draphen is a cold place. It has no consciousness; thus, it has no feelings. Kingdoms fall and rise. The world does not care. Populations are killed, subjugated and enslaved; it does not care. The only ones who care about the world are the people in it. The only ones who care about those people are the others around them. Then, what happens when those people disappear? When they’re thrust into a world that does not care, with people who do not care? They struggle, desperately. They do things they thought they would not do – could not do – before. They either stay still, hoping the night continues on forever, or they flail around, desperate for another sunrise to crest over the horizon. Those who are born into such a situation are fortunate in a strange fashion. They do not know of a better life. Those who know of a better place? Those who know who took it all away from them?
