158 THE KING'S SIN

King Gerold was going outside to meet his people affected by the flood. The people were evacuated to a relatively safer place, but they could only sleep under a few large tents as there was not enough room in the buildings for more than a hundred people to stay.

When the King visited those people, he could see how bad their condition was. Their faces were pale, and they even looked at the King with skepticism even though the King had come from far away to visit them today.

For some reason, those people looked like they were angry, and King Gerold could guess the reason behind their bad impressions of him.

When King Gerold had just visited one of the tents, someone inside the tent suddenly shouted, causing the other people who were also in the same tent as that person to turn towards him in surprise.
