CROWN PRINCESS, NOT CROWN PRINCE

Two guards guarded the King's Palace, and they didn't even let the Princess in, making the Princess frown in dissatisfaction.

"Why can't I enter the palace? I'm the Princess of this kingdom, and normally, I could enter the palace freely," Princess Elennora immediately voiced her thoughts in annoyance.

She was indeed the Princess of Grinia, and not only that, but she would also become the Crown Princess of the kingdom. Not letting her enter the King's Palace was like an act of discrediting her.

"My apologies, Your Highness," one of the two guards dared himself to speak. "It's not like you aren't allowed to enter the King's Palace, but the King and Queen are having a meeting with the officials now. We don't see your name in the guests' list of the meeting, so we don't dare to let you in."

Furrowing her brows, Princess Elennora looked even more confused. "What kind of meeting is that? Is it an internal meeting? I'm the Princess, but His Majesty didn't invite me to the meeting?"

The pink-haired Princess seemed to be giving the two guards a difficult question just like in an exam, and the two of them stared at each other in confusion, not knowing how to answer the Princess' question.

However, the two guards were saved because the door of the King's Palace was suddenly opened from the inside. The guards stepped aside to let the people out the door, and when the people saw the Princess in front of the palace, they looked surprised before immediately bowing and continuing to leave the palace.

Princess Elennora looked at them coldly, and neither of them wanted to stay there, knowing that their Princess was not in a good mood.

After all the officials left the palace, Princess Elennora returned to the two guards and asked, "May I enter the palace now that the meeting is over?"

It was ridiculous because she needed to ask permission from the guards to enter her father's palace, but she still did it while gritting his teeth.

The guards were terrified, and they could only nod their heads without saying anything.

The Princess almost rolled her eyes before deciding to enter the palace.

When she arrived at the assembly hall, she could see her parents were still sitting on the chairs.

They heard her footsteps, and they simultaneously turned their heads towards her. Both of them had shocked expressions on their faces.

"Oh! Princess Elennora is here," Queen Richenza immediately wiped the surprised look on her face and immediately walked towards the Princess. Stopping in front of the Princess, she then checked the Princess' appearance. "What happened to you? Why are your clothes and hair dirty? It's not appropriate to appear like this! Don't you know that there are so many important people in the palace today?"

The first thing she received from her mother was a scolding, but Princess Elennora was not surprised by that.

Her mother was a person who took great care of her appearance. She would choose the best skin care products, the best shampoo, and also the best dress for her daughter. She didn't even let the Princess appear with her bare face and always asked the maids to do her makeup perfectly.

"I just accidentally collided with someone and fell to the ground. It's not a big problem, Mother," answered the Princess honestly.

She wasn't a kid anymore, and bumping into someone and falling to the ground wasn't a big deal to her.

"Who dared to hurt my daughter?" King Gerold suddenly interrupted as he walked towards the two women. "That person even messed up my daughter's hair like this."

Now, it was the King who touched the Princess' hair, combing the pink strands with his fingers very carefully.

Princess Elennora didn't even care much for her body, but her parents treated her body as if it were expensive and fragile porcelain.

"It was a servant from another kingdom who accidentally bumped into me. It's best if we don't prolong this matter to avoid an awkward situation between the two kingdoms, Your Majesty."

In the eyes of the Princess, the person who bumped into her just now was just an unlucky servant. If that servant ended up putting the two kingdoms in an awkward situation, then the two kingdoms might hunt him down.

The death penalty may be waiting for the poor man, and that was why Princess Elennora let this matter pass.

"Perhaps we should let Princess Elennora return to her palace so she can clean herself, Your Majesty. She looks dirty now, and if people from other kingdoms see her in this state, they will look down on her during tomorrow's ceremony," Queen Richenza spoke again.

Queen Richenza did care a lot about the reputation of the first Crown Princess of Grinia. Tomorrow was an important ceremony, and she wanted the Princess to appear perfect in front of the people from other kingdoms, not letting even dust smother the perfection.

Princess Elennora was used to it. That was the reason why she thought that her mother treated her like a doll instead of a daughter.

"I'll make myself look presentable later, but now, I want to talk to you as your daughter," Princess Elennora dared to disobey the Queen's orders, and she even emphasized the word 'daughter' in the last sentence she just said.

For some reason, the King and Queen looked uneasy after hearing how the Princess spoke to them. Glancing at each other, they tried to communicate only with their eye connection.

In the end, King Gerold sighed before inviting the Princess to take a seat. The Princess chose to obey as she placed herself on the empty seat. Her parents also sat across from her.

"So, what do you want to talk to us about, Elen?"

Her father used the nickname again as if trying to calm the turmoil in her heart, knowing that the nickname was one of her weaknesses. Seeing her father's effort, Princess Elennora sighed to calm herself.

"I just want to hear an answer, Your Majesty. Why should I become a Crown Princess when I should be a Crown Prince?"
