1 1. Broken Vase

The soft giggles of a girl was heard as she ran in the hallway of the big castle. Her frock moved as she ran with her full speed. Her unique lilac coloured hairs flowing in every direction. Her beautiful eyes which were the same colour as her hairs were searching for a place to hide.

Her brother was going to find her.

The girl hid behind a big vase which hid her small form completely. She put her hand on her mouth so he couldn't hear her. Her brother was very sharp as long as he heard her breathing rapidly he would immediately find her.

"Cariño, where are you?" A 12 years old boy's voice echoed in the empty room as he looked at every corner searching for his little sweetheart.

A smile came on her face as she peeked at him coming in the room. She sticked to the vase thinking that it might hide her more.

When she saw her brother coming in her direction her eyes widened and she immediately tried to run but the next second a loud crash was heard.

The antique vase was on the floor broken into hundreds of pieces.

Her small mouth opened and closed like a fish looking at the now broken vase. Big fat tears came in her eyes.

Lawrence was near her the next second as he examined her for any injuries.

"Are you heart somewhere cariño?" He asked anxiously.

She bit her small plump lips and her next words brought a smile on his face.

"Grandpa....sob..will...sob...sob... pull my cheeks." She said as a tear rolled down.

She was now full on crying loudly.

He smiled and continued to wipe her tears with his thumb. His cariño was a foolish little thing.

He hugged her and carried her in his arms as she continued to cry.

Whenever he was with her he felt at home again. She was his solace and his happiness.

He put her down when they reached the lounge. A servant quickly came running towards them.

"Bring a wet towel." He ordered in his cold voice. The servant bowed and went to bring a wet towel.

Both of them sat on the luxurious sofa in the lounge.

Irsa was sitting beside him now, there were dried tear marks on her face and her eyes were swollen a little. Lawrence was playing with her fingers and she was enjoying it to the fullest.

She really liked when he played with her fingers.

He lightly rubbed her forefinger with his thumb then her ring finger with his middle one and her middle finger with his pinky finger. She felt a ticklish sensation on her fingers. She tried to hold his slender fingers with her comparatively short ones but his fingers always escape.

At last his fingers were dancing on her small palm.

He always used to do this when he needed to distract her, just like now. She was busy trying to get a hold of his fingers which were playing with hers.

"Your highness" the servant made his presence known. He extended the tray holding a small towel with a bowl of water.

Lawrence dipped the towel in the mild water and wiped her small face with it. She closed her eyes irritated. Her expression clearly showing she doesn't like some wet thing touching her face. She was always uncomfortable when someone tried to touch her cute chubby face.

Both of them went to the dining room where Grandpa was already present. He sat on the head seat and on his left another 12 year old boy was sitting.

When Lawrence and Irsa entered the dining room, she was hiding behind him.

Irsa was 6 years old but she was a little shorter than the children of her age. While Lawrence was like a pillar to her.

"Where is the brat?" The old man asked him. Irsa peeked out from behind him and looking at the old men again immediately hid behind him.

The old man smiled adoringly.

"What did you break this time brat?" The man asked a little strictly.

She slowly came out from behind Lawrence but she still didn't lose her hold on his hand, she was half hiding behind him. She looked at him with her doe like big eyes and pursed her lips. Asking him to save her.

"The antique vase which was bought from an auction for 80 million dollars."

Lawrence told the truth.

Irsa looked at her brother astonished, as he mouth opened wide. Big tears came in her eyes. Her brother has betrayed her and thrown her infront of the King to pull her cheeks. She was sad.

"I..didn't...pushed..it.. it...fell ..down...on..its..own" she said sulking. Her soft voice was heard by the three men as they tried to control their laughter.

She was like a rabbit.

"Don't you deserve a punishment?" The old man asked teasingly.

"No" she immediately replied.

"My cheeks already..hurt." She added hiding her face behind Lawrence's back.

"Come here" the old men said.

"Grandpaaaa.. I'm sorryyyy" she sulked. But she still sauntered towards him and directly climbed on his lap kissing his cheek.

The old men laughed heartily and pulled her cheeks lightly.

"Uwuuuu.."

"You cheeky brat." He kissed her forehead lovingly.

Lawrence already sat on the right side of the King.

Irsa went towards Derek's side and sat on the chair beside him and kissed his cheek. Derek also smiled and kissed her forehead lovingly. But she wasn't satisfied she turned her face towards him asking him to also kiss her cheeks.

Derek smiled and kissed her both cheeks adorably.

They then began their lunch.

This was Irsa William. The light and happiness of the cold castle. The youngest granddaughter of King William.
