13 Chapter 12

"Why do I have to do this ?" Carina whined .

"Show your palm to the lady", Sophia sternly said . She reached her hand out to the middle aged woman sitting in front of her . She smiled and took her hand in her wrinkled one and started to inspect . After a bit , she let her hand go . Sophia looked at the woman expectantly .

She spoke in an amused tone ,"Your daughter holds an interesting fortune ahead of her ."

Sophia frowned ,"What exactly do you mean by 'interesting' ?" Carina's ears perked up to hear the information .

She continued ,"Your daughter's mind is sharp as a knife . Her heart is solid as a rock. Her decisions will always be from the mind ."

She paused ,"Except one ." Sophia gulped . "There will be a boy . A boy who will paint her heart with love . He will change her mind , he will melt her heart . And..."

She paused again,"He will lead her to either the highest of highs or, the lowest of lows ."

"And how do I find out who this boy is ?" Sophia seemed quite calm .

"He is a boy who colours the world in the brightest and warmest shades . That is all I can tell you ."

"Who is this woman and why should we listen to her ?" Carina asked her mother harshly .

"Silly girl , you dare question my powers ?"

"I am not silly ! And really what are these 'powers' of yours ? Manipulating people and taking loads of their money ?" She snapped .

"Carina ! Shut your mouth this instant !" Sophia scolded .

"Then see for yourself , silly girl . I will make sure your future is doomed . I curse you here and now . All your life you will search for love , you will see the one you love right in front of your two eyes but you'll never be loved back . Never !" She hissed .

"We will see about that . A fake witch like you can't determine my future . I will prove you wrong ." She stormed off to her chamber .
