12 Chapter 11

"Well, well. What're you doing here, 'sister'?" Nathan mused, darkness laced in his voice.

"I'm going for a walk", Carina replied stiffly.

"On your wedding night?" He cocked his brow.

"Yes. Do you have a problem with it?"

"You have a sharp tounge. Although you should be careful. I am your brother-in-law." Carina looked away.

"So, Mrs. Belle, I saw that little scene you and Mr. Tommy Ainsworth caused", he mocked. Carina's eyes widened.

"I don't understand", she gulped.

"Nathan ?" Carina turned around to find Cecilia standing there. Nathan then expertly lied about how Carina had asked him to show around the castle. Carina didn't speak a word but she was panicking inside. Did Nathan actually hear everything?

"Then let me take you", Cecilia smiled. Carina nodded. She laced her arm around Carina's and led her down a brick path. Nathan smirked to himself. He was going to get to her later. His plan would surely work out...

"B-but it's midnight.We should go back", Carina objected.

"Midnight is the best time to explore the trees. Especially the Strawberries!" She whispered like a child. Carina chuckled. It was the first time that day she had smiled.

"Sit here", Cecilia showed her a blanket beside a Strawberry bush. Carina took a seat quietly, her mind still racing over Nathan's words.

"Are you hungry?" Carina shook her head no. Cecilia picked a handful of wild strawberries and handed some to Carina.

"Would you like to hear a story ?" Carina's eyes lit up.

"Yes please", she grinned.
