The Crimson Calamity

It all started just six years ago. Early signs of a disaster were beginning to appear all over the world. But we mindlessly shrugged it off as the Earth changing again.

Boy, how wrong were we.

It has been a year since this disaster happened. Giant tidal waves washed cities into the unforgiving oceanic abyss.

Volcanoes made it rain giant burnt boulders, and the lava cleansed what human life lived around it.

Tornadoes picked houses up like cherries and carelessly threw them away.

Despite the odds, some of us survived.

We looked into death's eyes and returned with a look of pure determination. So we thought.

Those in power wanted to rebuild the world in their own image. Their ideas contradicted one another.

But the problem was, who was there to fight for them? The simple answer, whoever was strong enough to pick up a weapon to fight were going to defend the side they believed in.

Since that day, chaos erupted all over the world. The first day of a new age became known as "The Crimson Calamity" because of the amount of blood savages spilt that day.

It was time for the Disaster Recovery Team to come together.

Spectre, the DRT's leader, doesn't favor a vision of the future over the other. His only vision is to keep whatever humanity that's left safe.

And me? I'm Finch Bulwalks, but others call me "The Raider." For a good reason, too.

I'm part of the DRT's strongest leaders, right there with Edward Crosser, Defender, and the Warmonger.

If there's a location that needs to be taken, they call upon me to claim it as ours. Who can blame them? They would want the best on their side.

"Who are you fighting against exactly?" That might be a question you're asking, and to put it simply; we don't know either.

Many factions have been created.

Savages, these guys don't care about anyone other than themselves. With no one to turn to for help, they rely on their morals and survival instincts. Perhaps the scariest faction.

Downpour, maybe our biggest competitor. They make it rain fury on those who are foolish enough to combat them. With the best technology there was before the disaster, this faction has wiped out multiple DRT bases.

Wildmen, close to Savages but they have some sort of structure to them. But they care less about survival and more about living their lives to the fullest, free from any form of government. Or as they say, "At any moment I can die, I'll make it look good."

And finally Forgers, quickly becoming the next Downpour. Their ability to scrap whatever they can get into something more useful is astonishing. Especially since they do everything at a rapid pace.

Our odds of keeping corruption's dirty hands away from what remains of us are slim to none.

But Edward Crosser puts it best; "You'll have to do more than just kill me if you want to make me stop fighting for a better tomorrow."
