6 An old friend, a kidnapping and a hideout

Marie flinched at the sound of his yelling, but she couldn't give up. She thought maybe if she begged some more, he would change his mind.

"P-please let m-me go I s-swear I won't say anything b-but please don't k-kill me," she stuttered as she got on her knees and begged for mercy.

Her words brought a wave of undeniable emotions. But mostly, Shadow Cat felt hurt. Did she believe he would kill her? He thought he showed her no harm would come to her the second he took the blade away from her throat. It was true that he had never left anyone alive before, but if he wanted to kill her, he would have done it already.

Soon after, Shadow Cat felt angry. Why must she fight him? Why couldn't she listen to him? Was it hard to follow his orders? Shadow Cat knew Marie was stubborn sometimes, but she was standing in front of a criminal. Did she not see the harm being stubborn could bring her?

At the same time, he understands that she doesn't recognize him with the mask. To her, he was the most wanted Canadian criminal. He was not the boy she knew at the moment, and he would never be able to show her, but how could she forget his voice, the look in his eyes?

Lastly, he was confused. What was it about this girl that made her so different from the rest? And why is it that every time he looked at her, his heart would skip a beat?

Shadow was not sure what to do. The different emotions were making him lose his sense of knowledge. That is why he decided to go with the one feeling that he knew the best, anger. 'She wants to treat me like a criminal? Fine! I'll show her one,' he thought to himself.

Shadow then pulled out a gun from the back of his pant hem and pointed it towards her face. "I said start moving," he growled. Marie trembled as she got back up and began to walk. She wanted to run, scream, to do something, but her body was not moving. She knew if she did, she was as good as dead.

Putting more thought into it, Marie decided to listen. She accepted her fate, did what Shadow Cat asked, and walking forward. They walked for another ten minutes, each minute bringing a wave of pain. Each step made the pain grow and grow, making the wanted criminal slow down his pace.

He was hurt, dying, he needed serious medical help, and both teens knew it. Shadow Cat shook his head and gulped as he saw his blood leaving a trail on the ground. Luckily, in this side of town, murders were an occurring event. So the police didn't bother to pay much attention to it. Not that it meant it was a good thing.

After a while, they arrived at what looked like an abandoned building. Shadow then pushed on a few bricks on the wall revealing a keypad and a scanner emerging from the ground. He then placed his thumb on the scanner and typed a code on the keypad, opening a big metal door.

As the door opened, Marie stood amazed. It was truly unbelievable. Never in her life did she imagine an abandoned building would be a high-tech criminal hideout.

As they walked inside, Marie took in every aspect of what was the secret underground building. A hidden stairway emerged, leading them deeper downstairs to what looked like a mansion. Marie felt her heart quicken. She was definitely inside Shadow Cat's hideout. She wondered what it meant that she was here.

But even though she was afraid, Marie couldn't help but be amazed at the beauty of the mansion. Wow, this was amazing. This place was definitely beautiful. The place was enormous. Everything inside was black and blue, including the furniture, walls, dishes, and flooring. It was all simply miraculous. Marie almost thought she would surely enjoy her stay. Of course, if it wasn't for the small detail of her fearing for her life.

Shadow Cat then pulled Marie to the living room and pushed her to sit on the couch. Marie's heart rate increased, pounding loudly, her body trembled, and her eyes filled with tears. Scared, she placed her arms around herself for comfort, as if she needed a hug. Not knowing what would happen next scared her to death.

Marie then shifted uncomfortably. Her clothes were cold and wet, making her shiver even more. Shadow Cat stared at her for a minute before pulling up a chair and sitting in front of her.

Struggling to steady his breathing, he held on to his side, applying pressure. It would be a long night. That is if he made it through it. But right now, he didn't want to think of that. The only thing on his mind was her. Therefore, he proceeded to question the secretly known girl.

Shadow Cat was in pain. That much was obvious. Although Marie could tell, he was trying hard to hide the pain. Shadow Cat had lost too much blood. He needed help quickly. Marie was not sure what to do. She wanted to tell Shadow Cat he needed help, but she was afraid to talk. Speak and die was the only thing on her mind.

As for Shadow Cat, he only had one thing on his mind, and that was getting to know Marie. He didn't have a chance before, but not this time. This time nothing would stop him.
