Waking in a world of Steam  

As the kingdoms of the world slumbered, the roars of the trains went silent! For as the darkened night sky that silently slept was suddenly disturbed for it lit up like a rising sun!

For all the creatures of the world looked upon the fallen star that raced towards their hollow fields! With a bang a mad rush was ordered from all kings big or small to rush to claim this new star as their own!

But little did they know that this star was one thing they should have never lusted after! For what waited inside was the herald that brought about their destruction!

[Reporting in sir Aenward! We found the crash site! I'm glad to report that we are the first to arrive at the crash site! I'm having my men set up a blockade around it as we speak! However, I don't think we have enough men to ward off any potential monster invasion or other kingdoms from interrupting our survey. After all, a fallen star is a prize everyone wants... ] said a random guard respectively

[Good job cadet! But you don't have to worry about those pesky beast kings or another kingdom butting soon. Reinforcements are on the way as we speak! Just make sure nothing gets in or out of the site… and I can't stress enough about the out part! After all we all know what happened last time something got out of a fallen star… it didn't end well for either side.]

[Sigh... You still worry about other incidents like before... Aenward.] said Aenward friend

[Sigh, how could I not be! Last time something came out of one of "those' entire villages and towns were set ablaze! Hell, it took everything we had to bring it down! So yes, I'm very worried about it, "Kathel''", plus it doesn't help when it falls in the neutral zone for all kingdoms!], replied Aenward

Meanwhile back in the crater

[ouch! My head hurts… where I'm I? OH, right that God did say I was going to be reborn in a steampunk world but… why does everything in here look so futuristic, with a late 80s vibe?] thought Breder to himself

But as Breder was getting familiar with his sounding, he soon realized he was running out of oxygen because he was in a vat tube full of water. Panicking, he searches for a way out when he notices a huge crack in the glass tube.

[The cause of that crack must be why my head hurts! But well, I don't see any other option so... Sorry head!] thought Breder as he beat on the glass tube with his head till it broke!

With a crash and a splash Breder managed to escape while coughing out water, after removing the tube that was down his throat! Now free from his water tomb, Breder went on to investigate the rest of the ship... Which wasn't much; only a small portion had survived the crash!

But as he continued to move on, he accustomed himself to his new body, which he found to be very awkward at first because he was a very tiny Xeno.

But looking at the mirrors that hung on the walls of the ship he was able to figure out that even though he was a Xeno like from aliens, he had weird metal parts melded with his body like some kind cyborg!

[Damnit was this body used in some kind of experiment? Well, I can only hope that it will improve my ability to survive and won't become a hindrance at some point… I hope they don't need updates or repairs! Also, I hope they grow with me!

Or as I get bigger in the future, I might find myself crushed in my own skin! But this begs the question why I'm so tiny? Shouldn't I be a fully formed Xeno the second I molted the first time…

well I will worry about that later for now I need to get out of here! Who knows what manner of creatures and monsters this new world has that will be coming to this ship!] thought Breder to himself

But just as he was trying to find a way out of the ship, he heard drilling noise and metal breaking sounds. Suspicious, he went to check out what was making the sound, advent cautiously… but as he approached the sounds he suddenly came to a halt because he saw what was making the noise and thought [Damn humans!]

Humans pov

[Halt George! My clock scanner is picking up on something!] said his coworker Ryany

[Guns up! Listen team I'll go first Ryany you be my wingman as for you two stays in the back should the worse happen one of you need to report back to the captain!] said George sternly

As George and his team entered those darkened halls, with little to no light sparks coming in and out of existence, they only had their shoulder lights to give them some sense of comfort.

The halls were so eerie quiet they could only hear the sound of their own heartbeat plus the occasional beeping sound coming from their scanner. Beep…Beep... Beep, with sweat running down Ryany's face he gestured to George to head to the right! Beep... Beep!

But as they got closer to the beeps, they soon realized that they were heading deep into the crash site… very deep. Worried that maybe they should start heading back to get reinforcements, when the beeping suddenly stopped!

With squinting eyes Ryany whispered [the motion tracker lost the target signal, so, either theres interference or whatever it is where chasing has stopped moving.]

Visible worried George whispered [where was its last location] to which Ryany replied [just through that door]

With sickening expression plaster on their faces, the four men hesitated for a few seconds before George entered that broken sliding door that had an ominous looking red light above it.

As George went first, for the doorway was too small for all of them to enter at once, they all lined up holding each other's shoulder with one hand while their other handheld tightly their guns!

But as they entered the room, they found nothing but a big empty glass tube glowing blue in the far back. Suspicious of events so far, George had a dire thought that maybe the creature was leading them here…

No, it definitely did but why? Knowing he didn't want to go back empty handed, he decided to leave two of his guards at the door while he and Ryany went to investigate the glowing tube.

As they arrived at the broken tube Ryany said [ Sir, do you know what this thing is?] George responded with [I don't know, but what I do know was that something was inside it before and now it is not! Hurry lets head back I have a bad feeling about this]

[But how do you know something was in this?] asked Ryany perplex

To which George shined his light just behind the glass tube to reveal that there were dozens of glass tubes that were broken with dead corpses lettered about!

Now visibly shaken, Ryany said [if all those tubes have their corresponding corpse, then… were this one…]

Scared, Ryany turned to look at George only to find that he had similar thoughts! Quickly panicking, Ryany turned to leave when he said to George with a shaky voice...

[ umm. Why is Edwam and Aldwith on the floor? Weren't they supposed to be watching the door?]
