28 Ch. 28

--Tsunade POV--

We've been home for a week and it was amazing. Before, I hated to be in this building, after Nawaki and Dan died it held too many horrible memories. But it feels so good making new ones, the compound has been more lively with all 5 of us. In the morning everyone trains physically, then I take the girls to my office and we all study the medical materials that we got from Zach's world. During that time he's usually in the workshop he created, toiling away at one project after another. I sometimes sneak away from studying and just watch him, his intensity is very attractive, I made a good pick.

Earlier this week, I tasked Zach into making a body double of Kakashi that could mimic a comatose one. Giving him input on how the body should read on the medical equipment, and testing it with my knowledge of the system I set up. The body was completed by the end of the day, unfortunately, Zach was also sloshed from refilling his essence too much. Apparently, living flesh and bones creation was very taxing on his essence, the bright side is that it was great training with his pool.

Later that night, I had Shizune swap the double with Kakashi and bring him back to the compound to heal him. I'm gonna hit three birds with one stone once that pervert comes and finds me. Just remembering my plan to read the riot act to the two just gets my blood boiling. After Shizune and I finished healing Kakashi, we put him in a controlled coma. I don't want the fun to pop off too soon.

Today should be the day I figured Jiraiya and Naruto should find me. Sitting down on the couch in the living room, I turned on the flatscreen that Zach had made me. He spoils me with the right things. Scrolling through the downloaded movies, I picked my favorite, Pretty Woman, and hit play. Having nothing to do and just lazing about and waiting is something magical, I know these kinds of days will be non-existent soon enough.

As I was halfway through the movie, I heard knocking on the front door. Before I could even think of answering it, Shizune was already making her way to it. I decided to make myself presentable and sat up on the couch, laying my left hand with my wedding band on top of my bulging belly. I wonder what kind of face he will make once he puts all the pieces together, wish I could take a picture of it. Hearing Shizune open the door, brought me out of my torture thoughts.

Shizune: "Jiraiya-sama, Lady Tsunade is in the living room, waiting for you two."

I could hear him stomping his way through the house to the room I'm at. He can still be temperamental like when we were kids. Taking a deep breath in and out, I was psyching myself up and going over what I will say to him. The stomping got closer, and I turned my head to look at the door as they walked in.

When he saw me he gave a smile that couldn't hide his annoyance, then I saw it when he took the whole picture in. His eyes started at my face, then my breasts finally resting on my swollen belly and the wedding ring on my left head, perfect. Seeing the color drain from his face and his speechlessness was already a win in my book, everything else will be the icing on the cake. But before I could say anything, I saw a flash of light.

Shutter wur-wur-wur.

Looking at the sounds, I saw Zach and Kakashi standing there. Zach was holding a weird-looking camera that had some sort of paper coming out the front of it. While Kakashi had his headband up and was staring wide-eyed at the situation in front of him with his Sharingan out. Before I could ask what the hell they were doing, Zach answered while shaking the paper that came out of the camera.

Zach: "Figured you'd want a picture of his reaction when he first saw you, and, man, it was great. So I made this polaroid camera that will print it right after you take a picture. Also, I could feel his killing intent once he entered the village. Must have been pretty pissed at whatever note you left him back in Tanzaku. Oh, and since I knew he was going to come straight here, I had Shizune wake-up Kakashi, and I filled him in on what's going on. Also telling him to use his Sharingan to see this so that way he has a great memory to look back on."

Holy shit, is this my husband? He's never this perceptive, I'll have to surprise him tomorrow and "thank" him while he's in the workshop. I gave Zach a radiant smile that I know will knock his socks off. Then turned my head to the two nuisances and my gaze flattened.

Tsunade: "Why hello Jiraiya. Please take a seat, Kakashi you too as well."

Jiraiya and Naruto sat down on the couch that was across from me, with Kakashi sitting next to Naruto. Zach followed behind Kakashi and made his way to my right side. He sat down and put his hand out for me to hold, I obliged and took it, making a little display of it.

Jiraiya: "I think you know why I'm here."

I just gave him a droll look.

Tsunade: "Taking a guess, it's to inform me that our sensei died."

Jiraiya: "Did you hear who did it?"

Tsunade: "Rumors from around the village are that it was Orochimaru's doing. Is that true?"

Naruto: "HOLD ON A SECOND! You're saying that Orochimaru is the one that killed the old man?! Who is the Orochimaru guy?!"

Oh lord, I've forgotten how annoying this kid can be. I swear I'm going to teach him some manners. Before I could go down the rabbit hole of how to raise a kid, Zach squeezed my hand to get me back on track.

Jiraiya: "He's one of the Sannin like Tsunade here and yours truly."

Naruto: "But why? Aren't all the Sannin from the leaf village? I don't get why he would do something like that!"

Ok, it's way past time this kid should have stopped talking. Has Jiraiya not taught him any manners since he's been training him? Oh, wait, Jiraiya doesn't have any, to begin with. Staring at Jiraiya I've made an evil smile.

Tsunade: "So, are you going to stop your mini-me from interrupting us."

Jiraiya just flinched at that, got it spot-on, he saw himself in the kid.

Jiraiya: "Tsunade, this is Naruto Uzumaki."

Tsunade: "Oh, I know who he is. With one glance I could tell who he is."

Naruto then stood up and put a foot on the coffee table and started to shout.

Naruto: "OK WAIT A SECOND I HAVEN'T FINISHED YET! THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS I'M NOT GETTING. SO THIS GUY, YOU KNOW HE'S THE ONE WHO MURDERED THE HOKAGE! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE ABOUT IT? HE'S A SANNIN, HE'S ONE OF YOU GUYS WHY HAVEN'T YOU CAUGHT HIM?! OH YEAH, AND WHAT'S WITH HER BEING THE 5TH HOKAGE?!"

Yup, just like in the show, things are going to start to get crazy from this point on.

Jiraiya: "SIT DOWN."

Naruto: "Bu-"

Jiraiya: "SIT DOWN!"

Jiraiya looked back towards me and smirked.

Jiraiya: "So, I'll say it, the Leaf Village has made its decision and chosen you to be the Fifth Hokage. Do you accept it Tsunade?���

Pretending that I was thinking it over, I turned my head to Zach and looked him in the eyes. You could see the smile in his eyes and that he wanted to play with them a bit longer, I knew what he wanted. He wanted me to bait Naruto even more and rile him up before dropping the bombshells. Turning back to Jiraiya I thought about how to phrase it.

Tsunade: "No."

Naruto: "WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?! I thought we came to find her so that she can heal Kakashi-Sensei and Sasuke! But here you are asking her to be the Fifth Hokage?!"

Tsunade: "You're slipping Jiraiya, you new apprentice is nothing like the Fourth, he's a fool with a big mouth."

Naruto: "Huh?"

Jiraiya didn't waste any time and started praising Minato, talking about how brilliant and handsome he was. Throwing in how Minato was almost as handsome as himself. You vain fool, you spout about all that and you left your prized pupil's kid to run the street. I started to grip Zach's hand tighter and could tell when he activated the tattoos on his arm, maybe a bit too tight?

Tsunade: "Oh sure but all that didn't save him from throwing his life away all for the sake of the village. Money is one thing, and life is another. To risk your life against all the odds, that's a sucker's bet."

That started to piss off Naruto, I could see his teeth clenching and hands balling into little fists. Time to add more fuel. With a cynical sneer on my face, I continued.

Tsunade: "My grandfather and uncle were willing to die to defend the village. Well, they're both dead alright and the village is no safer than it ever was. Not to mention the great job that Sarutobi did as a fill-in after the fourth's death. Count me out, I don't want to clean up the ape's mess."

Jiraiya: "Tsunade you've changed."

Before I could retort, Naruto tried to jump over the table and Jiraiya caught him before he could reach me.

Naruto: "QUIT BAD MOUTHING THE OLD MAN! I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT I'LL KNOCK THAT CYNICAL SNEER RIGHT OFF YOUR FACE! I WON'T LET YOU BAD MOUTH THE OLD MAN!"

Bingo, this is exactly what I wanted. Knowledge bomb ready to drop in 3, 2, 1, bombs deployed.

Tsunade: "You want to talk about the old man, then let us talk about him. Let's start with his lover Danzo, who'd run all over him and kidnap kids from the orphanage in order to recruit them into a black-ops unit that Hokage had 0 control over. My case in point is the slaughter of your 'best friend' Sasuke's clan, it was all Danzo's doing and Sarutobi just accepted it! How about something that impacts you next huh?"

With this Naruto's face is losing color and he's stopped fighting to get out of Jiraiya's grip. Which in turn let Jiraiya place him back down on the couch.

Jiraiya: "Enough, Tsunade."

Tsunade: "Oh no, I've barely even started. Or how about we talk about what really happened on the day the Nine-tails attacked the village?"

Jiraiya: "I SAID THAT'S ENOUGH!"

Before I could retort I noticed the killing intent I felt from the forest when Zach had rescued us. Looking over I saw my man with his tattoos on full display brimming with power in them. It was enough to give Jiraiya pause and I just stared him down. Kakashi was sitting there wide-eyed at the display and wishing he wasn't here, your time will come soon.

Tsunade: "Where was I, oh yeah. The night of the nine-tails attack, kid you better listen up because it involves you and you too Kakashi. First off, Obito is still alive and has a Mangekyou Sharingan, after Kushina Uzumaki gave birth, he used that opportunity to release the Kyuubi from her body and controlled it with his Sharingan making the Kyuubi go on a rampage. Are you with me so far?"

My audience was crickets, and they nodded their heads.

Tsunade: "The Fourth Hokage Minato, with the help of his dying wife, sacrificed his soul in order to split the Kyuubi in two, sealing one into their newborn son, and the other inside his own soul. Now, here is where the juicy part comes in. It was made an S-Rank secret that the son housed the Kyuubi inside of him, but somehow word around the village got out that a boy housed the monster inside. Can you guess who started the rumor? If your guess was Danzo, then you hit the nail on the head."

I could see Jiraiya getting pissed, not at me but at the situation that he's learning about. Kakashi, I think, was still hung up on Obito being alive. Naruto was well, just being Naruto and sitting there staring at me, trying to process everything.

Tsunade: "SO, all the while the kid was in an orphanage being raised and not told who his parents were because it would be too 'dangerous' for the kid. No one ever thought that a powerful clan, or maybe an S-Rank ninja, who was the 4th's teacher, could take care of him. But no, the old man just acted grandfatherly, giving out a petty living expense to the kid and let him run the streets with no guidelines. I wouldn't want a grandfather like that, would you? Or how about the oh so handsome teacher that would rather peek on women in hot springs then take care of the kid that his student left behind. WHY WOULD I WANT TO BE HOKAGE IF THAT IS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF ME AND MY HUSBAND DIE!? YOU SAY I'VE CHANGED, AND YOUR RIGHT, I HAVE! I HAVE TO THINK ABOUT MORE THAN MY OWN LIFE, I GREW UP JIRAIYA AND SO SHOULD YOU! "
