18 Ch. 18

--Zach POV--

Today was the day that Tsunade and Shizune would go get Karin and her mother. I really wanted to go with them but Tsunade talked some sense into me. Her reasoning was, since I was not trained in the ninja arts, I would be more of a liability than a helping hand. She suggested that I should explore my powers more while they are gone for the week. Shizune, of course, agreed with her, I swear she is a bobblehead most of the time.

Tsunade tried to sneak away with the laptop so she could continue her studies. But, I put a squash to that really quick. It took me a good hour to try to explain to her that it would only last 8 hours before the battery died and it'd be useless. She deflated really quick upon realizing that, then tasked me to make it run on chakra. That was going to be a headache to design out.

After hugging Shizune, and a long kiss goodbye from Tsunade. I watched them speed off into the distance. The feeling of something missing hit me instantly, and I realized this was going to be a long week. Putting my hands in my pocket and kicking the dirt, I made my way over to the workshop.

I need to learn my powers while they're gone, I don't want to get another beating by Tsunade!

I've been wondering what I should make for my initial loadout. The first thing that came to my mind was guns. Being a good American southerner I had owned plenty of them. After thinking about it a bit I decided not to open that can of worms in this world. How worse would things get if someone stole one and mass-produced it? I will not be responsible for that.

Zach: "I could build a 1 use Railgun to take care of Danzo though. Good luck sensing and dodging that projectile."

After chuckling at the image of Danzo becoming a pink mist I got back to thinking about what I can make. Katana would be more fitting for the setting, but they're pretty brittle compared to other swords. Then the perfect weapon came to mind, the gladius! It is great for cutting and thrusting, it's a shorter sword so I wouldn't lose too much speed when compared to a long sword or bastard sword. Also, it's easy to build and great start out testing my gifts.

With that, I started to make the sword. It was nice going back to doing something that I've done thousands of times. It took me about a day to finish the project thanks to my crafting blessing, beating my old record of two days when I had all my power tools. I had made inlays on it with the enchantment that accepted my power instead of chakra. I only put 1 enchantment on it which was endurance, hopefully, It won't break too soon.

I was standing there holding the sword like Harry Potter held his wand for the first time. Eyes wide in excitement and giddy with anticipation. I will become the most overpowered person in this world! MWUAHAHAHA! I started to push some of my power into the enchantment.

crack

Huh?

Creek crack

What was that?

Crack CRASH

Well shit, the blade just shattered. Well looks like I'm not being overpowered today. I think tomorrow, I should just smith little squares with enchantments on them to learn to control the output of my power.

Putting everything up in defeat I made my way to the inn. Stopping in the bar to have dinner and a drink. After a couple of whiskey and cokes, I started to feel a lot better, more rejuvenated. I stopped myself from getting too drunk and made my way up to my room. After taking a shower I headed to the bed and just fell into it. It felt strange without Tsunade by my side, so I did what any logical person would do, I took up the whole bed. It was GLORIOUS, I have a whole bed and I won't have to worry about the sheet being stolen from me!

--Tsunade POV at that moment--

I could sense that Zach was thinking bad things about me right now.

Tsunade: "Shizune, remind me to give Zach a good punch for thinking bad things about me!"

Shizune: "Yes Lady Tsunade!"

--Zach POV--

Waking up in a blanket cocoon was awesome, but not as awesome as waking up with Tsunade in my arms. Today was the day that I was going to get control of my power, literally. I quickly get dressed and head out of the inn not wanting to waste any time. Grabbing some breakfast along the way, I finished it up as I walked into the workshop door.

It only took me four hours to make a stack of squared metal with the endurance enchantment on it. I sat down in a comfortable position next to the stack and started my training. It hurt my heart making all that money crumble away one after the other in my hands.

On the very last one, I managed to succeed, I tried to jump up but man I was drained. I could feel something other than my stomach begging to be filled up. It was like being in the desert with no water. Tossing the piece of metal onto the workbench I headed out and back to the inn.

Reaching the inn I headed into the bar with a splitting headache right now. Walking into the bar to get some dinner and a drink I sat down at the bar. As soon as I sat down, a whiskey and coke appeared in front of me. Grabbing it like it was a life-preserver and I had just jumped from the Titanic, I drank it up in one fell swoop.

Dionysus: "Looks like you almost bottomed out your Divine Essence."

I was shocked that Dionysus was here and tending the bar.

Dionysus: "Don't give me that look, I like doing this sometimes. Mortals can be quite fun."

Zach: "So, I don't have the cheat ability of endless divine essence?"

He laughed hard at that. I felt like that laugh was at me and not at the question.

Dionysus: "You do have a cheat ability, the blessing can do wondrous things. You just have to think about using them! No, I won't give you any hints because that would be no fun. But back to the task at hand. So, your Divine Pool, there are 3 ways you can refill it. Can you guess what they are?"

What the heck is this Dora The Explorer? Why is he making me guess this stuff and not just tell me?

Dionysus: "Because I'm a God. Now answer the question."

Three things can refill it, what could they be. It took me a couple of minutes of thinking before it hit me like truck-kun hits weeaboos.

Zach: "Sex, drugs, and rock n' roll."

Yup, he just facepalmed.

Zach: "I'm joking! So it has to do with fertility, alcohol, and crafting. So if we break it down, sex, alcohol, and making stuff."

Dionysus: "Bingo! Here's what you've won!"

He slid over another whiskey and coke and I gulped that down, I was channeling my inner Tsunade. I ordered dinner and continued chatting with Dionysus. Letting him know what the plan was, and how things have been coming along in the relationship. Halfway through the conversation of the relationship. Aphrodite came along and joined in, giving advice about various activities that made my drunk brain explode. She got a good laugh and left me there to wallow in my loneliness.
