Completed her target

The sleeping dorms weren't huge but were better than the lounge and sleeping bags, it had three beds, a chair and a desk with a small lamp, it was more than satisfactory at the moment.

"How are we going to manage?" Joseph asked pointing to the beds.

"Let Rachel and Nora return." Luke said.

The door knob turned and the door swung open, Rachel stepped in. "Nora's not gonna come. She'll take a few hours." She said.

"Why? Doesn't she want to sleep or she's catching up with the lost time." Joseph asked

"The later one." Rachel said. "She will share the bed with me. You guys can sleep comfortably." She added.

"If that's so, let's sleep. We can't lag behind tomorrow." Luke said.

The beds were not comfortable enough but everyone was too exhausted to complain about it and dozed off as soon as they hit the bed.

It was seven in the morning, when the alarms on their phones went off. Luke was up first, followed by Rachel and Joseph. "It's time already?" Rachel yawned. "Just freshen up and wake me up later." Joseph muttered.

"No, just get out of the damn bed." Luke said. "I'll be back." He said and stepped out of the room.

"Where the heck is she? She doesn't seem like a morning person. Did she sleep or not? I told her to get some rest. She'll end up exhausting herself." He muttered to himself.

He looked down from the railing, not much students were present down there. Most of them were sleeping in their sleeping bags, while some had just woken up. He searched the auditorium for Nora, when he caught her sight. She was strolling around, seemingly lost in her thoughts, something might have struck up and she dashed to their table.

"Luke, why don't you freshen up? We have to get back to work." It was Rachel.

"Yeah sure. Give me a few minutes. You can head to the cafeteria for breakfast. I'll catch up." He turned to look at Nora who was still busy with her laptop and left.

As soon as Luke got down, he headed for their table. Nora was sitting on the table cross legged, her laptop on her lap and she was staring at the screen.

"Nora." He called out.

"Sshhh." She said, raising one of her hand, while the other one was typing something. "What happened?" She finally said.

"Well, we have chairs to sit on." He pointed.

"Oh yes. I just got too engrossed." She said and got down.

"Did you sleep?" Luke asked.

"No." She said rummaging through her bag.

"As expected." He sighed. "You know we talked about this, you'll wear yourself out."

"Found it." She said happily and held up a USB drive and plugged it in her laptop.

"Are you listening to me?" He asked frustrated.

"Yes I am." She finally looked at him. "How can l help?"

"You're a gone case." He looked at her. Her eyes were back on her laptop.

"Done." She pulled out the drive from the port and handed it to Luke.

"What the heck is this?" He quirked his eyebrow.

"My target, it's done. Now I'll go get some sleep." She stretched herself.

"Wait. You finished everything, like every bit of it?" He asked dumbfounded. She nodded.

"Is it bug free or you just finished it for sake of getting over with it?" He questioned.

"Don't doubt me. Go ahead and check it yourself." She said disappointed. "I'll leave now. Where's that sleeping dorm though?"

"First floor, last room towards the right." He said, fidgeting with the USB drive. He stared at her take the stairs and then disappear.

He immediately pulled out his laptop and inserted the drive, he opened each file on it and went through them. "Damn, she actually did all of it. How is that possible?" He looked at his laptop in disbelief.

He was checking her program when Joseph and Rachel returned, "Luke why didn't you come? We waited for you." Joseph said.

"I was busy." He said without looking up.

"What are you looking at?" Rachel snapped.

"Nora, she completed her target. It's done, she just gave me the finished product." He looked at her.

"What?!" Joseph shouted.

"Yes, I am surprised too. She just went to sleep." He ejected the drive. "Anyway it's good she did it. Now we have to do that too. Get back to work, we have to complete a big chunk today." He declared.

"We will, but look at this mess. What exactly was she doing?" Rachel said with aversion.

The table was in a real mess, Nora's bag had spilt out all of its contents. Except for her laptop and headphones, everything on the table was dreadfully untidy.

"Call her back! Ask her to clean it, I did it yesterday." Joseph shouted.

"I'll do it." Luke said gathering every bit of her stuff.

"Why?" Rachel asked. He put up the USB drive, "Because of this."

"I'll give this to her. You guys get started." He hurried towards the stairs.

Opening the door, he stepped on her shoe, which was thrown across the room, while she had passed out on the bed. The bed he slept in. Somewhere deep down he felt contented looking at her. She was sleeping peacefully, curled up hugging a pillow with the blanket pushed at the edge. "Déjà vu?" He smirked. He put her bag beside the bed and covered her up.

He just stood there looking at her, seeming all mystified. "What am I? A freak? Staring at a girl sleep." He slammed his palm on his forehead. "Have a good sleep Nora." He murmured, switched off the lights and left.
