6 A friendly conversation

"So what do you think?" George said looking out.

"Think about what?"

"Our juniors. You met them today didn't you."

"Oh, don't ask, they were all over the place, rather all over me." Luke said with a smirk, his hands on the steering wheel. "They actually thought I would recommend them or something. Their hypocrisy pissed me off."

"Well it was evident, our Nora had to bear the brunt of it."

"Nora? Oh she's Nora, and when did she become 'our' ?" Luke asked with a smug face.

"Just today. I mean she's so cute, and tiny, but has a big temperament." George said proudly.

"Don't know about cute, but hell she has a temperament problem."

"She was this close," George said gesturing with his index finger and thumb. "from ripping you apart." He said laughing.

"With her size, I don't think so." Luke smirked. "Any way how did you even get to know them?"

"I bumped into Tina, the blonde one, in the library. She's in the Literature department. Struck up a conversation, exchanged numbers and the rest is history." He said. "Then heard about you being invited to a party organized by the juniors, I envied you." He said jokingly, "So I invited her in. Had no idea she would bring along Nora. It was my first time meeting her too."

"I see. About Nora, which department is she in?" Luke asked.

"You interested in her?"

Luke gave George a cold stare. "Computer science, some kind of prodigy, the youngest in her class."

"Doesn't seem like it." Luke said absentmindedly.

"Don't tell me you're beginning to like her or something, Luke." George said with a poker face.

Luke almost lost his balance and the car swayed.

"Shut the fuck up. It's the first time I saw her, I don't even know her and she's not even my type. So, no, I am not interested in her, not even close." He said firmly.

"I see." George nodded. "I think I'm gonna give it a try though." He said putting on his glasses.

"You're not interested in Tina?" Luke asked. "No! She's just a friend and I don't think she is interested in me anyway."

"All the best then." Luke said with a ever so charming smile. "But I don't think she's gonna fall for you." George gave him a disappointed look. "Just saying." He shrugged.

"You done?" Nora asked standing outside the cubicle.

"Almost." Tina said her voice all groggy. And then again she vomited out every bit of alcohol in her.

There was a flushing sound and the door opened, Tina was looking pale, her face devoid of any color. "You deserve it, after what I went through." Nora said shrugging her shoulders.

"I said I'm sorry, I promise it won't happen again."

"Never mind, let's go find something to eat I'm starving." Nora said waving her hand. Tina smiled and shook her head. "Okay Nora let me just tidy up."

"So you liked any of the guys?" Tina asked washing her face.

"You just puked with all of your strength and this is what you want to talk about?"

"Yes. Come on tell me." She said pushing her.

"None, all them were complete jerks."

"What about Luke? He's all that dreamy type, too good to be true." Tina said her eyes all dreamy.

"Who is he?" Nora asked. Tina pointed towards her nose. "Oh, that guy. Dreamy, you say? No. He's an asshole, the biggest one I've ever met." She said nodding her head. "What about you?"

"I think Nick, he's the one." Her eyes beaming now.

"Now who the heck is Nick?" Nora asked frustrated. Tina punched her shoulder. "Ow, that hurts." She said rubbing it with her hand.

"He is so angelic, I tell you, he's doing master's in philosophy. He is sweet yet sexy. Hot yet cool."

"Yeah, yeah. I get it , he's your knight in shining armour. I've heard it a lot of times." Nora snorted.

"But this time I'm serious." Tina said timidly.

Nora quirked her eyebrows at her. "Okay, I believe you. Now let's get something to eat."

Tina smiled sheepishly. "Okay let's go!" She said marching out of the washroom with her arms linked to Nora's.
