10 The Newest King

That was the longest and most peaceful sleep I had in so many years. I, actually, opened my eyes in such a good mood that I would gladly go to work on December Holidays.

The bliss didn't last for even a minute when a fang of headache bit me on the back of my head. A familiar laughter was heard around the corner that worsen the pain that my teeth started grinding against each other.

What was even worse was I couldn't move! My hands were tied on my back tightly. 'Stop stop stop stop, breathe' I told my panicking heart and lung to stop my frantic attempt to freedom.

"Look who's awake now," A white haired guy appeared in front of me. Suddenly, my heart pumped even harder and louder. The atmosphere around me took a sudden turn and I felt so... intimidated.

He's not very tall and he was kind of lean but his stance was giving me creeps. He was not even doing anything! The sight of him spells out danger in red bleeping colors.

"Let's wait for your big friend to wake, shall we?" I felt my lungs working again the moment he turned his back on me. 'Who is this guy?' I thought. He was giving me all the shivers possible and I hated it.

I quickly craned my neck to observe and from what I could tell, I was in a closed square room with double doors in the middle of one wall. At the center of the room, there was a throne that the white-haired guy was heading to and for some reason, sent shivers on to my whole male body. The only source of illumination was the light that shone the throne from above. 'Who would want to sit on that!?' I comforted myself with a thought. 'Look up and you'll be blinded!'

Colonel was lying on his side beside me. His arms were tied on his torso with a seriously thick rope. I looked at mine and I could tell I got lucky with this thinner one. His looked so uncomfortable but his face showed no sign of that. Instead, the relaxed muscles and slightly smiling face showed how peaceful he was in that state.

Where the heck was this? How the heck did we get in here? Who the heck carried Colonel all the way here!? Mama Colonel!?

Then the scene from Colonel's house came back to me. I was hugging Colonel's mom but suddenly he attacked me with something sharp that paralyzed me immediately. They may be business tycoons but the fighter was sure in their blood too.

I couldn't even hate her for that. I knew that she was ordered to do that by the other guy here with me. "So you're the King?" I tried sounding confident despite the handicap I have at the moment.

"One of them, at least, the newest one." He said with low energy. He finally sat comfortably on his throne and stared back at me.

"Congratulations on your coronation. You don't seem so happy about it though." I tried provoking him but he does seem feeling very low, too.

"Who would be happy? It was a very tiring day." Then he rested his chin on his palms.

"Tell me about it. Today was the worst day of my life." I got comfortable on my spot too. at this distance, I was sure he wouldn't reach me quickly and if he did, how could I fight it? I might as well die comfortably here.

"Well, sure, let's talk about that." I studied his face for a secone but it was too bright from the light above. "Since you two were the ones who gave me trouble."

I tried guessing what could he mean by that but my head was aching as it was so I didn't push it.

"I wasn't even crowned yet when I already got a work to do." I heard him sigh and raised his arms to stretch his body. "Remember? The road accident your buddy here caused?"

Oh. He meant the murder of the Dead-Colonel by my buddy here Colonel this morning. I still wasn't sure what work he could have done but guessing by his tone, it was hard work.

"Then you came and voila! Another trouble right before my coronation!" His voice started to rise and I could hear some angry purr from his throat. It was weird but it left me trembling.

"Then right after my supposedly royal and grandiose, I had to deal with you two! Ugh!" He slammed his fist on the armrest of his throne. I was sitting upright and sweat started building up on my forehead. Fear... that was all I could feel at that moment.

My heartbeats were banging too loud and palms were getting really sweaty. I could feel my binding again and that made me feel so uncomfortable and irritated. 'I have to get away,' was all that I could think of.

I tried splitting away my wrists to loosen the rope but it only made me grit my teeth from irritation. I was getting mad and my blood were boiling, too. 'I hate this!'

Then suddenly, a laughter echoed throughout the room. I tried refocusing my senses into the center and calm my anger.

"Calm down, tiger," and he laughed some more. He stood up from his sit and I could hear his footsteps coming near. "I wasn't even finish with my rants here."

He walked right in front of me, kneeled down and lifted my trembling chin. Eyes were locked at each other but his cool facade was overpowering me and my fake confidence.

He talked very slowly making sure that I would remember every word and ingrain it in my mind.

"Another one of you trespassed, too," the he abruptly stood up and lifted the back of his arms on his forehead in a very dramatic fashion. "Such a headache."

But I could no longer grasp his words. Another one of us? What!? Who!?
