27 Reversal

Dmitri immediately retracted his attack as he saw what was happening to Aurum in the distance. Kyle, who saw this, sighed relief as he could at least let his guard down for a little bit. They didn't bother to exchange some words and just looked at the phenomenon that is happening to Aurum.

They knew that something was wrong as they felt that the surroundings are slowly being covered in darkness. The sky was turning dark slowly like an evil deity was corrupting it. Every tree was being sapped out of its life, and it was getting dry. All living beings near Aurum was getting their minds encroached with dark thoughts. Slowly, normal humans were losing their vision slowly, and even some of them are demonized.

Aurum, who was the source of what was happening, seemed to be devoid of any emotion or any reason at the moment. It looked like he was only there to throw the entire world into endless chaos. All of the people, who were close to falling into insanity, shuddered with despair. This was especially true towards Uriel, Barakiel, Yuu, and Steve, who was the closest among all of them. Never would they thought that by chasing him today, this would be his reaction towards their activities.

"What the f*ck is this?!" Uriel screamed on top of his lungs.

Both Uriel and Barakiel immediately looked at Yuu and Steve.

"Both of you battled with him several times already. What kind of sh*t is this?" Uriel and Barakiel asked at the same time.

However, Yuu and Steve didn't answer them. No matter how Uriel and Barakiel tried to probe information out of them, they still were unresponsive.

The archangels were mad that they were about to end their life in a slap; however, they didn't continue it because they felt like an ultimate being is watching them. When they turned their heads up, they saw Aurum staring at them with his black eyes.

"Were you the ticks that were trying to kill me earlier?" Aurum suddenly asked them.

Uriel and Barakiel were flabbergasted when they saw him looking down upon them, however, both of them somehow managed to look at him calmly.

"So what if it was us? What, are you going to kill us both?" Barakiel sneered at Aurum.

"You can't kill us. You can't afford to anger the Almighty One when you already have too much enemies around you." Uriel, on the other hand, tried to remind Aurum of his current situation.

When Aurum heard what they were saying, he was speechless. Although his mind was filled with dark thoughts, he was still able to hear what they were saying.

Although they were able to act like it was nothing to them in front of him, they were actually sweating profusely inside. Nonetheless, they still talked back to Aurum knowing that their lives are in danger.

However, now that they saw Aurum stay on his spot, they thought that they were safe.

'Heh. Looks like someone is scared witless.' Both of them sneered in their hearts while they internally gloating.

"What's wrong Aurum? Are you afraid of the Almighty One?"

"Why not just surrender? In this way you could still plead to the Almighty One to spare your lowly life."

They continued their provocation towards Aurum with no restrain. They thought as long as they mentioned the Almighty One in everything they said, Aurum wouldn't dare to kill them both.

However, they were both wrong. They noticed that Aurum was actually smiling towards them. Looking at them as if he heard the funniest thing that he could ever hear. Aurum was walking towards them one step at a time. By the time that he was 3 meters away from them he stopped and let out a chuckle.

"Hahaha. Do you really think that I would be afraid of the Almighty One? Think again! Remember, I have made enemies with countless of gods and goddesses. What make you think that I would be afraid if I offend one more god?" Aurum said with a disdainful expression.

Once they heard what he said, the smiles on Uriel and Barakiel froze. They realized that they made those provocations in vain. If they knew that he wouldn't be scared with those threats, they wouldn't dare to make those remarks towards him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the Almighty One's domain, all of the angels, whether its a higher rank or lower ranked angel, they were all feeling complicated in their hearts. All of them felt humiliated as they were seeing the events at the mortal world. All the seraph were pleading the Almighty One to let them help Uriel and Barakiel on killing Aurum. However, all their pleas were in vain. The Almighty One didn't even spare a glance towards them and just kept on observing what is happening down at the mortal world.

He kept on pondering if it was detrimental for him to send some back up to help Aurum or not. He noticed that when Aurum was struck with a lightning bolt from Zeus, Aurum assimilated that power and even used it against Zeus.

Thus, he came to a conclusion that it would negatively affect his course of action in the future if he sends some back up. While he was thinking on a next course of action, he was still being pestered by the angels. He couldn't help it anymore and bellowed in a commanding voice.

"Foolish angels! Did you really think that I would just stand by here and do nothing?! You really look down on me! If I keep on sending you all down to Earth, Aurum would just plunder all your skills and abilities and use it to kill you. Knowing this, do you still want to go down on a suicide mission today rather than tempering yourselves for the future when we are going to get our vengeance?!"

All of the angles who heard this was stunned and speechless. They didn't know that the Almighty One was thinking far ahead in the future and cared for them. They thought that all of them were just mere pawns in a chessboard; however, once they all heard those words earlier, they were moved by the concern from the Almighty One.

Looking at those angels, the Almighty One inwardly repressed his anger and continued to focus on the battle. A moment later on, he had a idea.

'What if the abilities that were used was not an active one? What if the skills they used were just to increase their strength and their abilities? Wouldn't this be a good idea to use it this time?' The Almighty One thought.

Once he thought of this he hurriedly stood up and sent down a message for Uriel and Barakiel.

"My lovely archangels, in this crisis, we cannot win this by holding back. Thus, I give you permission on using our forbidden skills that I gave you since the day you were born."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uriel and Barakiel were kept on dodging and was slowly fleeing from the battle. They were desperate to keep their lives thinking that they could have their revenge if they survived this calamity. Although they were thinking like this, for a proud archangels to be forced into submission by a human it was humiliating for them.

However, just as they were about to lose hope, they heard the voice of the Almighty One from above.

"My lovely archangels, in this crisis, we cannot win this by holding back. Thus, I give you permission on using our forbidden skills that I gave you since the day you were born."

Once they heard this, Uriel and Barakiel, whose face was with a dark expression, suddenly became delightful. Aurum noticed this change from them and halted all of his attacks. He also noticed that Uriel and Barakiel didn't even run away when they have the chance to. Instead, they turned back and faced Aurum with a sinister smile.

"You really made a fool out of us. Now you are going to pay for the crimes that you did!" Barakiel said while arrogantly looking down on him.

"Now that the restriction that the Almighty One put upon us is elevated, its time for you to die. Don't worry though, we won't send you to hell. Instead, we will take your soul with us and torture you till the end of the world. HAHAHA" Uriel laughed like madman while releasing his aura.

Aurum, who was listening to all what they said, felt chills on his back as if he was going to die at any second. He wielded his Mazda blade and hurriedly pounce towards the archangels to end their life. However it was too late. Uriel and Barakiel, who was desperately trying to flee earlier, dodged his attack with ease.

"Brother, I'll analyze his patterns while you attack him." Uriel said to Barakiel with a beaming smile.

"Haha. Exactly what I thought. It has been a long time since the last time we were allowed to use this abilities. With the power of your Limitless Paradigm and my power of Greater Blessing, we can now easily defeat this ignorant fool." Barakiel replied with a hearty laughter.

Barakiel charged towards Aurum, while Uriel was just standing behind him like a spectator. Aurum thought that once they are separated, it would be much easier to deal with them now. However, just as his blade was soon to hit Barakiel, he felt like something was guiding his hand so that he could not deal a direct damage.

"Hehehe its useless Aurum! I just used Greater Blessings which increased my luck, agility and reaction time to the utmost limit. By doing this, I can have the power to match any ruler type gods and goddesses from the other faction and it will be a miracle for you to kill me now." Barakiel disdainfully laughed while fighting Aurum barehanded.

Aurum, who already missed hundreds of his attacks, believed what Barakiel said. The current him cannot face any gods and goddesses that is a ruler type. That means while he can defeat Apollo, Hermes, Tyr, or any lower ranked gods, he cannot defeat someone like Zeus, Odin or the Almighty One.

'No wonder the Almighty One restricted them from using these skills. It threatens his position as long as Barakiel is able to use this skill.' Aurum thought while changing his direction towards Uriel.

Barakiel saw what Aurum's intention was but didn't stop him. When Aurum was about to pierce Uriel's heart with his blade, Uriel suddenly did a side step and launched a back fist towards his face. Aurum was knocked away 3 steps but didn't think much of it. He send down a slash with the intention to finish him right away but Uriel struck him again with his palm.

"Aurum. No matter what you do, its useless! With the power of Limitless Paradigm, I can see through all of the attacks that you are going to do next. No matter what you do, even if you try to change your tempo, I can see all your attack and defensive patterns!" Uriel proudly thought.

Aurum was listening to what Uriel was saying and he immediately have a glum expression on his face. However, he still didn't give up.

"I have a question for you all. Why did the Almighty One decided to restrict those skills of yours?" Aurum asked.

"Hmph. Do you think that you can make us betray the Almighty One with your mind games? Think again!" Both Uriel and Barakiel bellowed.

Before Aurum could even play his mind games, Uriel and Barakiel didn't even listen to him and attacked ruthlessly. He didn't have anything else that the could do. All he could think of right now was to...

Escape!
