Prologue-Cleansing Initiated

Mother Earth, it is the only planet in our solar system which is the habitat for millions of forms of life, from the single-celled organisms to the most advanced life-form known to date i.e. humans.

The planet never asks us anything as collateral to live on it as well as there is no tax applied by the planet on natural resources but still, we indiscriminately squander the resources, though we pay taxes to the government for our daily necessities and follow the laws made by governing bodies, but which is given to us for free we just deteriorate it without giving it any respect or repaying the planet which we reside on.

From the beginning of the industrial revolution in the sixteenth century to date, there are many industrial revolutions which have taken place. Starting from the first industrial revolution which gave us the most used steam-powered engines, railroads, etc to building cities and industries.

The second industrial revolution with science being the focal point and the third industrial revolution which brought in the digitalization to mankind from televisions, mobile phones to computers. Electronics and information technology which began to automate production and take supply chains global, which gave an increase in production but the diminution of manpower.

The fourth one brought mankind the most used program i.e. 'AI'(Artificial Intelligence).

And for entertainment purposes, the invention of VR(Virtual Reality). And the start of 3D printing to print suitcases to pens or food was one of the most known innovations along with drones and robots.

The Fifth Industrial Revolution which was the latest of the decade the Immersion VR along with advanced electronics namely portable USB-sized holographic mobiles, flying cars as well as future farms of today.

The industrial revolution in many phases made human life better accompanying it we also brought squandering of earth's resources to be it renewable or non-renewable resources. With the vitality of the planet being sapped at the rate which will bring disaster accompanying loss of lives.

With modernization comes waste generated which is not treated to create further degeneration of the planet.

Whenever there was atrophy regarding the earth, the planet has always has been remodeling itself in forms of natural calamities or complete annihilation of dominant life forms. Best examples from history can be taken as the death of dinosaurs. The well-known mythological tale of Noah's Ark is also an example.

The first, it shows that dinosaurs were harming the ecological cycle of earth physically which led to the obliteration of the species. Second, it showed that humans were mentally problematic for the planet as well as the society and which was the cause of the watery chaos bring doom to mankind except a select few.

The changes in an environment of a planet rather it is physically or mentally it will always go till it reaches a certain limit. Thereafter the planet starts cleansing itself to either to reside a new species or the most dominant species of the former era.

After typing all of these ideas I emailed it to my niece who was given a summer assignment to write about the current situation of the planet and its future. After thinking and writing the significant points which would help with the homework given to her.

I stretched my arms and legs, as I looked towards the watch in the corner of my office.

It showed 11:30 p.m. with only half an hour until the new year and I still working in the office on the last day of the year 2048.

I went towards the coffee machine so at least the caffeine will keep me awake throughout the night.

Being the head of the department of communications in a gigantic corporation is no joke because there are at minimum 150 depts. of communications in the company. As it is one of the most used networks for communication around the globe. Being the new year, I am one of those "lucky" individuals picked by the lottery system to work from Christmas eve till the new year. Though it may be tiring and tedious to be working while most of the employees are enjoying, the pay for this holiday week is equivalent to working for the whole month.

And during holidays customer service required is an all-time high.

After taking a seat at the coffee table and enjoying my cup of 'caffeine', my office's digiphone started ringing. "Hello ?." as I picked up the phone and enquired.

"Hey, Alex it's your brother-in-law. Are you free tonight. Let's go to the party at Anita's place." I could hear my sister's husband Vic Oastler who is also one of the CEO's of the company.

"Oh is it Mister CEO on the line, Sir. And it's ex-husband for you. OKAY. And do not call again to disturb my working hours, Sir." there was hate in my voice as I ended his call.

Vic Oastler is my ex-brother in law.

Whenever I think about how that son of a bit** got the post of CEO but I would just kill him for what he did to my sister. But to pay the loan of education on me I have to work as much as I can so my loan can be repaid.

As it was nearing 12:00 p.m. I was on my way to the cafeteria for a snack. After a few minutes, I could not any form of sound around me.

Even though I was walking through the hallway leading towards the center of the company campus. I could not hear the tapping of my shoes on the floor nor could I hear any sounds around me as though I may have entered a void zone.
