1 Chapter 1

Third-Person Narrative

Year 3025

On the downtown side of Zelcul-City, were the tall skyscrapers that rained over the whole area, stood the Elfwinds Enterprise skyscraper. The tallest building in the city. On the highest floor was the chairman's office, there stood a tall man, looking through the crystal clear glass window. His white clear hair almost blends with the clear through glass. Mesmerized by the city lights he didn't even notice the girl who suddenly appeared sitting at the office desk eating ships.

Without even turning around he took out a dagger from his suit pocket and threw it right at her in the speed of light, the knife landed an inch from her ear, shredding a strap of cotton from the desk chair. The girl didn't even flinch and was completely unfazed, and continued eating her chips as if she hadn't almost gotten killed.

"You have terrible aim," she said, still crunching on her chips.

The man sighed and walked back to his desk, picking up his phone that was charging, not even glancing at her.

"That's cause I knew it was you dumbass, I should've aimed at your shoulder maybe it'd teach you a lesson, on not to came into the chairman's office, without being told"

"He's my dad so what, plus if you'd stain my leather jacket with my blood I'll kill you, it costs more than your monthly pay"

Sucking her fingers, to take in all the saltiness from her chips, she put her feet on the desk, laying back in the chair.

"Get your muddy feet off the chairman's desk!" he said smacking her feet off the desk.

"You just came back from a mission, you should be resting, instead of coming here to bother me, geez"

"Awww, why so sensitive today, Okie," the girl said while pouting.

The man glared at her, his dark red eyes, almost piercing her like a knife.

"Don't call me that,"

The girl let out a small chuckle while getting up from her seat.

"Pfft, so scary"

The man rolled his eyes and put his phone in his back pocket, then went to the glass window to admire the view of the city again.

"I told you to call me, Commissioner, we may be close to Nina, but I'll put you on probation if you get out of line," he said to her.

Letting out an annoyed sigh, Nina put her chips bag in the garbage bin and let out a humongous burp, which just annoyed the commissioner even more.

"Just tell my dad I dropped by," she said before snapping her fingers and disappearing.

"I hate when she does that," the commissioner mumbled.

"Hate it when who does what," said the tall middle-aged man in a black suit leaning against the door.

The commissioner jumped, surprised by the chairmen's sudden appearance.

"Uh...chairman, y-you surprised me, I thought you had business to deal with in the underground,"

"I finished early, I'm guessing my daughter was here, judging by that chip wrapper in my garbage bin," the chairman said while walking up to his desk and sitting down.

"It's my fault, I'll teach her better next tim-,"

"It's fine, she's stubborn but she has a lot to learn as the heir of my business and power, go easy on her after all she is still 13,"

"I understand chairmen," the commissioner says, giving a half bow.

"Just don't have her eat in here, it'll bring roaches," said the old men while lighting a cigarette.

"I understand, it's late so I'll be taking my leav-"

"Oh, and commissioner, I almost forgot, the first step of Project-Z has been accomplished,"

The commissioner's eyes sprung wide open and quickly turned around to see the old man smoking calmly, and fidgeting on his laptop.

"You mean you accomplished it, you know how to stop "The Circle" from working, I thought his lord said that it was impossible!!"

"He never said it was impossible, he just miscalculated, turns out that witch had hidden the key somewhere,"

"I thought her heart was the key,"

"It wasn't, unfortunately, the key is somewhere else,"

"That doesn't make sense, how do you know where the key is, and how did you get this information,"

"The Witch died a few weeks ago,"

The commissioner was stunned, he couldn't believe the nonsense he was hearing, it's been weeks, and he was receiving this news now.

The chairman was still smoking, the commissioner thought he'd be furious but he looked quite calm.

"Who killed her,"

"Hmph, the funny part is that we don't know, I doubt the Unnatural World could just go ahead and kill their strongest sorcerer, and those blood-sucking monsters, don't have that type of strength either, she could have just kicked the bucket on her own, who knows to be honest, but it gives us an advantage, with her gone, we can get the key faster "

"Then shouldn't we secure it now, you know where it is, tell me so we could go and claim it!"

"No,"

The chairman stood up from his seat and walked in front of the clear-glass window, staring up at the starry night, one hand in his pocket, the other holding his cigarette.

"Right now, the key isn't as strong, it has no magic energy and it'd just be useless if we capture it now"

"Then what do we do," the commissioner asked eagerly.

"We wait,"

"But do we have that option at the moment, I'm certain The Unnatural World has already heard of the news, and so did the Underworld,"

"These are the words from the Lord himself, we must wait till the time comes of the uprising,"

"Bu-"

"Commissioner, have you ever heard the saying of the Blossom Tree,"

"No, I haven't,"

"Take the key as a blossom tree for saying, in the beginning, there's a small sprout, but during the months, that sprout will turn into a small tree, it may not be as big, but it still has a few blossom leaves, those blossom leaves are like magic energy, when the date of the uprising comes intact, the key's magic energy will be of a small blossom tree, with a few blossom leaves. We'll have enough power to claim that blossom tree, as long as that small blossom tree doesn't turn into an enormous one, then we have nothing to worry about, commissioner,"

The chairman dropped his cigarette on the floor and stepped on it, He went up to the commissioner who was beyond him and patted him in the back.

"Don't worry commissioner, your time will come,"

With that, he snapped his fingers and disappeared.

The commissioner was left in the room by himself, even after the chairman's explanation, he was still not satisfied.

Letting out a sigh, he went to the window to see the beaming lights of the city, and the many skyscrapers in front of him.

"We wait, huh," he thought.

"Wonder how long that'll take,"

Year 3027

Uptownside of Zelcul City

***BEEP BEEP BEEP***

***CLICK***

"Aghhh!," I said clicking the alarm.

"Liky...what...time is it," I said, yawning and stretching in my bed. When no one answered, I rolled my eyes and yelled.

"LIKYY WAKE UP AND TELL ME THE TIME!,"

The small robot that rovered from under my bed, hovered over me.

"Geez, where are your manners you uncultured girl," The little sphere robot said to me as it hovered over me.

"Ok ok, please?"I said sarcastically.

"It's currently 8:00 in the morning, October 15, 3027," said with its robotic voice

"Great I woke up early, now I don't have to worry abo-,"

"RISA!!!!,"

And there went my good wishes.

"Liky, doesn't nana go to work late today,"

"Ms. Kim goes to work late on Mondays and Tuesdays, and early on the rest of the week, today is a Friday if I'm not mistaken if you want I can yet again check the da-,"

"No… it's fine, I'll just get up before she screams at me again,"

As I got up from my bed, I felt completely dizzy, my legs were numb and I couldn't even lift my head up, if my morning couldn't get any worse, I tripped on a book that was lying on a floor, then-. ***THUMP***

"Owwww,"

"Would you like me to examine your body for injuries," Liky said tilting her head sideways.

"No...i-its fine," I said, trying to get up only to fall back down.

"It seems like your day is starting quite ruff," Liky said with a gigglish robotic voice.

"Yeah, well no sh*t," I said getting up and doing a stretch.

That's when my bedroom door opened, and there stood, a young woman with a hair bun, and wore a black suit, with mixed match socks, and two boots in her hand.

"Risena, the school bus leaves at 8:10, You should've been up 30- minutes ago,"

"Don't worry, Kyle is picking me up on his motorbike," I said taking off my clothes and putting on a sweatshirt.

"I told you not to hang out with that boy," Nana said while picking up lying clothes on the floor.

"Why cause he's an orphan so discriminative, nana," I said, putting on jeans.

"No, because he's a bad influence, he smokes, and stays by himself illegally,"

"Well that's not your problem to deal with isn't it," I said putting on my black boots almost falling.

"Look, Risa, I don't have the energy to talk to you right now, just do me a favor and clean your room,"

"Ok, bye,"

Before leaving, Nana came right back into the room.

"What was that crashing sound I heard," she said worriedly.

"Risa busted her as* on the floor,"

"Shut up, Liky," I said, throwing one of my books at him, only for him to hover away before it hits.

Nana rolled her eyes and came to kiss me on the head.

"Stay out of trouble in school, and fix your hair it looks crazy, I left the keys on the table, so lock when you're about to leave, I love you,"

"Yeah whatever, have fun at work,"

She giggled and left.

I looked at my bedroom mirror, to see my fuzzy cut brown hair. The right side of my hair had bangs, while the other side had a long piece of flowing hair that touched my shoulders. I always cut it like this, my mom used to think it was funny and cute, so I thought the same.

As I got lost in thought, I heard a buzz on my phone, when I picked it up, I saw a text message.

Messages 1!

(Dumb Kyle):

I'm downstairs at your apartment, hurry

up there's too much traffic, I'll leave

you if you don't come down in 3 min.

"Sh*t," I mumbled

I started rushing and quickly put on my glasses, and packed my bookbag. I never really cared what I wore or how I looked, I just put on some jeans and a blue sweatshirt, and white sneakers.

"Dammit, that bastard better not leave me, school started about a month ago and I was in High School the last thing I need are penalty points.

"Liky, I'm bout to leave, stay charged under the bed ok,"

"Ok," he said hovering back under the bed.

I quickly ran out of my room with my backpack, stumbling down the hallway, only to quickly get back up and run to the kitchen, taking an apple from the counter and running downstairs. Slamming the door, I went to the stairway and slid down its edge, and ran out the door.

Looking around the alleyway to see if he was still there, I turned every corner only to see a bunch of people walking around.

"D*mn, did he leave?" I thought.

That's when a heavyweight of metal hit me in the back of the head when I turned to see what it was, it was a blue helmet.

I sighed and turned behind me to see a tall figure giving me a somewhat smug face.

"Good morning," he said.

I gave him an annoyed look.

"You scared me, I thought you left," I said, putting on the helmet.

"I thought I'd scare you, and what are you wearing,"

"Um..clothes,"

"Geez it's so boring," he said while putting his helmet on

"Sorry I'm too basic for you, and just so you know, I'm not the one who wears weird colored outfits and dyes their hair pink,"

"Hey, it's a trend," he said getting on his motorbike.

"Let's go, we have Mrs. Renndel first period, and she's quite annoying,"I said sitting behind him.

"Did you forget anything," he asked.

That's when I remembered the keys that I left on the counter.

"sh*t,"

"What happened,"

"I left my keys and didn't lock the door, but we live on the last floor, and there are no thieves around this area anyway,"

"Are you sure,"

"Yeah, it isn't a big deal let's just go,"

As he started the engine and hit the bricks we zoomed off, I got lost in thought as we drove onto the highway. Thinking about my Algebra Test that we had today that I didn't even study for, and trying to distract myself from Kyle's stupid jokes that he kept saying as we rode his bike. But I was completely unaware of the fact that leaving the door unlocked that day would change my life forever...
