10 Agree to Disagree

"Hayden," Theodore responded with a lack of excitement as he looked at Hayden directly in the eyes.

"Hey Theo, I'm so sorry that this idiot just dragged me away last night!" I apologized.

Hayden stared at Theo back, but his gaze wasn't malicious anymore, but there was definitely some tension between the two beyond just regular quarrel from yesterday. Theo just looked a bit awkward at the situation currently, but now his focus was back to me.

He observed me from top to the bottom and blurted, "did Hayden give you these?"

"Yeah, how did you know?" I asked curiously.

"Does it even matter though?" Hayden quietly commented but was definitely ignored by the both of us.

"Well, they're designer, and judging from what happened yesterday, Whitehall really made you stay over for the night."

"It's not what it looks like if that's what you're implying," Hayden interjected.

"I didn't say anything of the sort," Theo eyed, definitely judging him for his actions last night. I certainly don't blame him, Hayden was way over his head and to be honest, I still haven't fully forgiven him just quite yet.

"I honestly just want to go home, my sister needs me and she hasn't heard back since last night," I interrupted.

"I'll let you go home when we settle our agreement," Hayden responded.

"What agreement?" Theodore immediately followed, "you're not seriously debating on doing something, are you?"

"Honestly, it's really not really your concern, is it? She slapped me first so it's our problem, not yours, Walker," Hayden gestured the two of us dramatically.

"Geez, why are you fighting, this is not a big deal and frankly I just want to get it over with," I announced loudly, looking at the two.

"Sienna, our fighting goes a bit beyond just what happened last night, it's best if you stayed out of it."

"Oh you're the one to talk," Hayden argued, rolling his eyes hard.

"I'm seriously not following," I said, completely confused.

"There's honestly nothing to follow, let's just leave, if you want to talk to him do it at your own time, I'm not getting involved with his shady ass," Hayden sneered.

"Watch your mouth, Whitehall. Who's really the shady one? Involuntarily dragging a woman around like she's some toy, I seriously hope you know what the hell you're doing," Theodore snapped back, surprising me.

"Okay okay, please stop," I interrupted again loudly, "let's just go and do your thing, and I will see you soon Theo."

This time before any of the two boys could react, I had already dragged Hayden away from the area. We were starting to cause a scene as our voices were so loud that it echoed all the way to the cafeteria. Plus I seriously did not want to get involved any longer, it was definitely an argument beyond me and certainly a business I'd like to avoid.

"Do you even know where you're going?" Hayden finally spoke as he was getting dragged by me.

"No, but I'm hoping I'd find a place where you won't act like a child in public," I sighed and stopped, letting go of his arms.

"We're going to Robert's place, he should be working today."

"And why are we going there?" I asked, crossing my arms, "I thought you aren't going to press charges or get me fired."

"I'm not," he smiled, "you're going to resign yourself."

"And why would I do that?" I eyed him, clearly in discontent once again. Was what Hayden had originally promised going to be broken?

"Because you're going to work for me."

"How much are you paying me to work for you?" I asked hesitantly, "and what kind of work?"

It certainly wasn't a terrible trade-off, but working for Hayden Whitehall was certainly raising some red flags for me. I barely know the guy apart from the time we spent together just recently, but now I was lined up to work for him, just after he makes me quit my own job? But what choice do I have? I physically assaulted the dude and I should be praying to God himself that I wasn't going to get charged legally. What kind of job would I even be doing? It certainly wasn't janitor work, so it's something else. I had so many questions in my mind, but none that he seemed to be answering.

"I'm not paying you directly," Hayden explained,"but in exchange for the time that you actually work for me, I can pay off your sister's tuition and both of your living expenses for you."

"That sounds way too much money for a part-time job, I know you're rich and everything but that is a lot of money and you haven't told me what the job actually is," I immediately responded in disbelief. The costs for my sister's tuition and living expenses for the both of us were in the hundreds of thousands at this point, not to mention she is only six years old and has much more schooling to do.

"You still think I'm a human trafficker?" Hayden laughed.

"No, but let me know what the job is at least. This is too good of a deal to sound real and I am just having doubts, it's in our nature to do that."

"I'm hiring you as my personal assistant, how does that sound?"

"And if I reject?" I ask wearily.

"Then I can either call the Dean right now and cancel your scholarship, or I can file an assault charge with my lawyer this afternoon. I can also do nothing and you can live your life in peace, but just know that those expenses aren't easy to pay off within a decade or two, especially since your sister is young. If you want her to continue at Valentino, I suggest you take my offer. I'm offering you full tuition costs for your sister's lifetime tuition at Valentino in exchange for your time while you and I are still in school, so it's up to you really," he shrugged as he pulled out his phone and showed me his contact list containing the Dean's and his lawyer's number.

"Why are you doing this?" I ask him directly, "you're giving me shitty choices."

"But you do have a choice, I'm saving you out of poverty for your time and you're seriously debating on giving up that offer? Hayden said in disbelief.

"Well, what do you gain from it?"

"Your time, and some fun, that's all. I'll just ask you to help me out here and there, and you will get to use my credit card for anything you want. It's not shady or anything, I'll call my lawyer to write up a formal contract and everything you need in it," he explained.

"I fail to see how you spending time with me is fun," I said, still not believing his offer.

"It will be fun, we're just getting to know each other right? Plus you don't look like you have any friends, aside from that wanker Walker. I'll show you around and let you meet people that will help you succeed in this world, and in exchange, you help me and you can also have fun, entertain me with how weird you are, you're a funny one for sure," Hayden laughed.

"Wanker Walker..." I repeated, "Wow..."

"What?" He asked.

"I don't know why you hate him, but it rhymes," I giggled.

"Call me Shakespeare," Hayden bowed dramatically, then proceeded to ask,"what do you say?"

"Fine," I sighed, "call your lawyer, but make sure it's the contract and now a lawsuit please."

"Perfect," Hayden grinned.

Hayden Whitehall made a quick phone call to meet up with his lawyer this afternoon. We finally found the time to go to the basement and confront Robert of my official resignation. Hayden had certainly kept our incident last night out of the conversation, but overall it was a smooth resignation. Disappointed but surprised at Hayden's actions, Robert bid me farewell and I was finally a jobless woman.

Before he had left the building to meet up with his lawyer, Hayden and I exchanged phone numbers.

"Go back to your sister, I'm sure she misses you. I'll see you tomorrow," he waved before getting into his really expensive looking car.

I waved back and watched as his car drove off into the distance. I knew that I was going to work for Hayden starting from tomorrow after I sign the contract, but I had no clue what kind of work to expect from him. He was Hayden Whitehall after all, and I still had to talk to Theodore about all of this mess, and also Geneva, who may be upset that I had quit after just one day.

"Shit, I have to return my maid costume still," I sighed at the strange yet eventful night and day that I had just experienced.

It won't get worse than this right? I sighed deeply.
