System Activated

Alex was sitting on the couch, wondering what he'd do to get some money for this month. He once opened up a business, but that failed miserably.

He then tried to become a merchant, but he was suppressed by the other merchants.

He had ideas of becoming an actor but he thought he wasn't fit for it.

"With our world currently at a high level of technology, how could they not have a job for me?" he sighed.

As he said that, a notification popped up on his phone. He opened it and looked at the possible message he got.

'Hm...mage huh... that's a costly occupation though. It's probably spam too.'

Not only was the world Alex living in highly futuristic in technology, they also had worldly energy around it called mana that could be used. Once a person reached a certain threshold in using mana, they could step into the paths of a mage.

He thought about it for a while and replied.

After that, he decided to head to bed and sleep.

"Someone has finally accepted our offer," a voice chuckled.

"We finally have a plaything to use!" another voice laughed out loud.

"What are you waiting for then? Send it to the one who answered!"

"Okay!"

Waving all of the person's fingers in a mysterious method, a ball that was extremely white was made. The person then flicked its fingers, making the ball travel to a special place.

Alex woke up and did his morning routine. He then sat on the couch for hours until a knock was heard from his door.

"Did I order something?" he muttered.

He stood up and went towards the door to open it, only to be greeted by a white ball.

Alex tilted his head in confusion after seeing the ball.

It looked at it for a while and suddenly, the ball started to charge towards Alex.

"What the fuck is this?!"

Alex slammed the door hard, hoping that the ball won't pass through. But it seemed that the ball was smart, passing through the entrance for mail.

Now the ball was inside. Alex ran as fast as he can away from the ball.

But the ball was faster.

Bang!

It hit Alex's head, making him fall unconscious.

Alex was now on the ground, with the ball floating over him. Slowly, the ball started to merge with his body like it was a natural occurence.

Within a few minutes, the ball was nowhere to be seen, as if it wasn't there from the start.

But suddenly, a bright blue aura emanated from Alex's body.

And then it just...

Suddenly disappeared.

"Host has fallen unconscious."

"Activating through energy saving mode."

"20%...37%...62%....88%...100%"

"System activated."
