25 Cap 25 - Mercenary (I'm good at killing people)

The woman in red called the guards to escort the prisoner, taking him to his boss, Spicer's target. The guards to chain the mercenary's hands and feet, the rabid lion of minutes ago now was just a little lion whose roar was nothing but a meow. Spicer marched to the place he had longed to be all this time as if he were going to his funeral. Even the guards were surprised at the ability of the boy named Noah, seeing her always left them terrified, but Spicer went to the valley of death with an appearance even if now small of pure nobility. At that moment the healer felt great discomfort, something was not right about everything that was happening, even weak the young mercenary still emanated an aura that left her uncomfortable.

All that happened too fast. Minutes ago she had said goodbye to Noah, who went back to her room, she was aware that the young man would cry as usual. That all sounded annoying to her, that she had already heard the boy crying a few times and that simply annoyed her ears.

When the entourage escorting Spicer, taking him to the most luxurious room in the palace, found a shadowy figure sitting behind a table full of papers. Behind the mobster were two imperial soldiers, just by looking, Spicer managed to determine that they had been very well trained, but to be in a place like this they were probably expelled from the main imperial army. The two soldiers were twice the age of Spicer in combat experience, in front of those two figures, Spicer was just a naked boy. It was then that the young mercenary began to calm down, never having only one measure to carry out a mission, if a route could not be accomplished, then other measures should be taken. Spicer thought what he was hella good, and the answer came almost instantly, "I'm good at killing people even if the variables are against me", a sinister laugh took over the face of the young prisoner who barely had the strength to walk. When analyzing the environment more accurately, Spicer noticed that four more soldiers were sitting at a table at the other end of the room, but by their appearance, they were not as skilled as those who personally took care of the safety of their target.

The place where Spicer was was really spacious and well guarded, all the furniture was extremely luxurious and the people who protected him were highly capable, few nobles had that level of security, this only showed Spicer that he was not the first to try to kill the man in front of him, but he would be the last. Before reaching the room, Spicer saw several guards, they were really strong, but against Spicer, they didn't represent so much danger. Entering the palace and trying to find the boss would be equivalent to finding a needle in the haystack, without the proper knowledge of the architecture of the place, his mission would be compromised. The mobster with all certainty had a safe escape route, if something happened that would compromise his safety, he would sneak out and Spicer would lose his target. So the best way would be to let himself be caught, and wait for the right time to be in the same place as the target. The mission would be very simple, at most, now those knights would complicate things, but not before their target is dead and the mission is finished. Whether the mercenary would get out alive or not, it didn't matter the conclusion of the mission is absolute.

At that moment, somewhere in the palace, a young rachitic entered his room, trying his best to boast a lofty countenance for as long as he could. But, when he got near his bed, he fell heavily without being able to control the waves of tremors that started to occur all over his body. He held his wrists trying to control the convulsions, hoping it would stop as fast as possible. However, as soon as the tremors started to stop, his body started to expel everything in his stomach, until only a green liquid came out and then nothing else. After this happened, he felt several spasms all over his body. Probably, if someone saw him at that moment, he would think that an old man had the wrong room, that was not the vision of a young man. His thin structure now made the bones practically jump out, his eyes went deep and dug... With his dying appearance, the young man dragged himself to the small desk that composed the few pieces of furniture in his room and used all his strength to move the furniture to the side. Now it was noticeable that one of the woods was loose, he took a small box he had there, containing his most precious asset. A ruby necklace, which was shaped like a piece of crystal, squeezing hard that artifact against his chest murmured, "This is my last living night, I won't be able to see tomorrow", but the tears did not come out, either because they no longer had what to be put out, or because for the first time he did not want to cry.

The mobster didn't give any signs that he would leave his post, one of the guards raised his face enough for him to see, the moment he got a glimpse of Spicer's face, he stood up scared. There was something different, something that no human had in the features of this new acquisition. It was then that he headed to Spicer's front, with the two knights on his trail, like two shadows. When the hands of the pigman touched Spicer's face, a will to rip them off took all the conscience of the mercenary. He moved the young man's face to both sides, assessing every inch of his face. A satisfied smile began to take shape on Spicer's target's face if the boy was auctioned, customers from all over Adorin would surely participate in the auction. His visibility would increase and business could be expanded and it was all thanks to that person in front of him. For years the mobster had been trying to increase business without any success, but this time he had the key to his success in his hands. Spicer tried to force his hands to free himself, but for his current condition, the strength of those guards was equivalent to that of an adult horse while Spicer was just a child trying to pull them to the opposite side.

A very strong pain started to appear in Spicer's left wrist, if he hadn't gotten used to the pain with certainty his body would fall heavy on the ground. He tried to sweep some moment when he had broken his wrist, but he couldn't find it. It was then that his target headed to the front of his table, which was about 3 sticks in length from where Spicer was, he started to leaf through some papers and laugh uncontrollably, this attitude was so unexpected that the four knights on the other side of the room now observed everything that was happening with a certain curiosity. In all those years working for that great filthy man, none of those people had heard even something that would be confused with a laugh.

-Sir. -Woman in red was anxious, she only dared to speak after the man recovered his posture, but now all the attention was focused on him. Spicer's presence was completely ignored, who continued with his head down. -I did a beautiful job all over the boy's body before it was covered by horrible scars that would compromise the quality of the merchandise. But now he has an extremely smooth body, without any scars or stains at all. That was the best job I could do.

-You will be rewarded Jezabel! -The voice of the mobster was as ridiculous as his appearance. The woman now had her head down, feeling that she would finally increase her influence. -Now nothing will be the way it was before. Today we will close the deal, we will celebrate all night and tomorrow a statement will be issued, in a lunar cycle, we will hold an auction. This boy will be the star of our...

Spicer couldn't understand what had happened to his body from the moment the old pig had released him, first the pain in his wrist, then this pain was moving all over his body to the point of making him want to scream. What happened then left him speechless, his energy was restored. Spicer thought he was dreaming, that the pain had made him go into a reverie, but not. He could feel the strength he always had. It was then that a sinister smile was born on his lips, he would not need to complete his mission with one more lunar cycle of delay, Spicer would complete the mission now.

Before Spicer's target finished the sentence, a shadow passed through him and left all the knights in the room, who had sharper senses than the others, stunned. They couldn't see anything, except a thin dark line that crossed the room at a speed over human. And now, the boy named Spicer was on the table of the old pig as if he had been there from the beginning, squatting on a pile of paper that made no mention of flying. On the boy's back, a terrible black shadow was projected taking a monstrous form leaving everyone horrified, the creature was fed basically by Spicer's murderous desire, and took the form of a highly dangerous black shadow, this unknown ability belongs only to those who were blessed by death, Spicer since he remembers always had this shadow. The two imperial knights automatically reacted to Spicer's presence and placed themselves between Spicer and his boss, but seconds later they realized they had nothing left to protect. The whole room fell into a terrible silence when the most terrible thing those people had witnessed in all their lives started to happen. First, the fingers of the mobster started to fall, then the hands, arms, ears, and several parts of the body were detaching from the original body. As these small parts became detached, they became even smaller, until what was left was a handful of blood, flesh, crushed bones, and shattered organs being protected by the knights and guards.
