303 Who’s to Blame?

~ ZARA ~

An hour later, when everyone but Ash had finally left, I was just sitting there, staring at the wall. Servants came and went, bringing food and drink and some herbs the doctor had recommended which I dutifully took.

I was biding my time, waiting until we were finally left completely alone.

But after an hour of constant interruptions, I finally put my foot down. When the third servant came in to see if I would like a fire in the fireplace, or another rug over my lap, I sighed.

"I want to sleep," I said. "I want people to stop coming in."

Ash jumped, immediately, ushering the woman out, and notifying the guards at the door not to allow anyone in who wasn't my parents or the doctor.
