Chapter 6: How Did It Come To This?!?

"Are you ready?" A good question. The answer is NO!

"Hell no, but I guess I have no choice," I answer totally honestly.

I can not casually refuse a personal request from the Hokage. But really, a spar with a man hailed by many (me) as the strongest Hokage. How is this a fair match-up?

Let's not mention the fact that I'm a God, that will just make my admittedly very shaky act even more embarrassing.

"Do not let your nerves overtake you. I've seen you train, remember. I know I won't have to hold myself back a lot." The gleam in his eyes speaks of the many untold horrors he will unleash on me. Damn it legs, stop shaking!

"Hold back a little you bastard."

He threw off his Hokage robes and hat. "You say something... partner?"

'I hate you!'

"Nothing important." And before I knew it my body tilted backwards dodging a powerful right hook. It was so fast my eyes couldn't track it, only my God-sense (what I call it) was able to react to it.

I need to focus on syncing with my God-sense. I need to make my movements a conscious action otherwise I will stay stagnated forever.

He keeps throwing punches and even managed to sneak in a leg-sweep, which I barely dodge. Even with my very good instincts, my body is barely keeping up. My God-sense has its limits because what it is is basically just pure instincts.

"Bastard, are you trying to kill me!?"

"I haven't managed to hit you once, I'm increasing the pressure!" And that he did instantly. His body simply seemed to fade away and his fist collided with my gut sending me into a tree. Without mercy, he rushed closer trying to kick my face, but I avoided it, albeit barely. The tree seemed to evaporate under his strength.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!"

When people (me) say that he is the real God of shinobi, they (me) isn't kidding. It is obvious he still is not going full throttle yet his fists destroyed that tree and uprooted two trees behind it.

"Dodging is not going to save you forever. One can only avoid fighting for so long before slipping up. You better start attacking soon."

He is really starting to piss me off. Doesn't he listen?! I have told him many many times I do not have the skill he does. And he was the one who came up out of nowhere and dragged me here and started attacking me. HIM! NOT ME!

If I don't beat the shit out of him today I will run a thousand laps around the village!

So...

Here I am. My five-hundredth lap around the village just completed. I am dead tired, by the way.

Yeah, beating the Third Hokage is a no go. As soon as I started trying, my defence obviously slipped and I got BEAT to the ground. Since it's not actually me fighting, just my instincts I'm not at a level where I can attack and defend against someone of his calibre.

The best defence is a good offence. Yeah, not against him and not while I am so inexperienced. I have to attune more to my Godly powers before I stand a chance in that spar.

I can certainly defeat a Chunin, most definitely the average Jonin - the Hokage said so himself. But I am still too reliant on my God-sense to defeat Hiruzen. I am not actually "fighting" perse, I am just moving according to the experience of previous holders of my powers. Movements my current body cannot keep up with. Do you see my problem? Good!

Still, running five-hundred laps is inhumanly impressive. Maybe not in this world but if I did this in my old dimension I would surely have recognition throughout the world. Maybe even be kidnapped and experimented on. I have run now, literally thousands of kilometres. The same speed; a decently fast jogging speed.

My face hurts, my legs ache; not from running but from that intense beatdown. But it helped in a way. I finally realized sort of where the power levels are at here. From Hiruzens performance I can semi-calculate what his full power looks like and from that I think I can figure out approximately how strong Madara and Hashirama are.

I'm thinking mostly about Madara. Realistically I don't see how I would ever end up fighting the wood user. From what I know, he is too laid back and I do not plan on betraying this village any time soon. He should have no reason to fight me; if he is brought back like he is in canon. Who knows what my presence has changed.

For now, I have to finish these laps or else I am going to do one THOUSAND push-ups. Yes, I am totally a fan of Might Guy and Rock Lee - My favourite duo. Naruto and Sasuke be damned. Those two are all doom and gloom and I'm not about that lifestyle.

I am back at Haruno's bookstore drinking some delicious tea. For the last few days, I've found myself drifting here a lot. It's very nice talking to someone as knowledgeable as he is. Turns out he has indeed read every book he has in the store.

I don't know if it's my aura or our shared interest in knowledge, but I got invited into the back where he keeps his rare (taboo) collection of literature. I don't mean his pornographic collection, that he keeps at the front, on display for anyone to see. I am talking about anything this and other villages don't want you to know.

I don't know what he did previous to this but the amount of things he knows is crazy. In just one week I have a ton of dirt on multiple people. I know the location of Hiruzen's porn stash. That could come in handy.

After my daily tea with Haruno, I go back to my place. A humble little space where I basically only spend time when I need to eat or sleep. It's not fancy, but I like the cosy feeling it got. I will upgrade eventually. This place isn't reflecting well on my sophisticated professor persona. I need a mansion the same size as Hiruzen. That should earn me some credibility.

A well-deserved rest will do good now There is a new day brewing and I am going to need my beauty sleep if I want to survive it.
