30 Diary 30: Orange Cat
Crow moves forward to slice and dice the cowardly mage, Min Soo barely dodges the slash hence even surprised by Crow's bloodthirst. David realizes this and wanted to halt the spars between them, but Crow won't listen to David's order despite his constant yelling. Crow grins as crystals of ice drop above Min Soo as he swings his claymore.
Min Soo dodge, the icicles almost scratch his skin as his forehead then kisses the ground due to him tripping a pebble. As soon as he gets up from the ground, Crow dashes towards him as he lifts his claymore to the sky and is about to drop it on Min Soo. The mage crawls back, as the claymore lands close near his crotch.
When he's about to land an attack, the next movement comes next but Min Soo had enough of it.
"Geez, why is it only me! Stop it!" Min Soo hums slightly.
When he hums, Crow suddenly stops in his tracks as if he's controlled by an unknown force. He lowers his claymore and stops moving. He bits his lips hard as he suddenly submits to the ground, his whole body is shaking in denial. Min Soo stands above the kneeling Crow, this has made him succumbed to the ground.
Weak to the mage's voice, Crow suddenly lost his consciousness and falls flat on the ground. His face hits the ground first, even David is quite confused to see Crow passed out of nowhere. In any case, David then comes into the scene and carries Crow who passed out in the middle of their spars.
However, their spars don't end there yet; they have to do a C-rank quest, it's an easy quest that David picks up randomly in the guild. It's a quest to find a missing kitten named 'Caramel'. Thus their quest continues after they finish taking care of Crow. David puts the unconscious man in his chamber.
It appears that Crow lives in a small hut, pretty simplistic but neat. His bed is located next to a classic-looking window. The hut is located not too far from David's mansion, but quite far from the city. Still, it appears Crow is still struggling against something that binding him; none of them know what's the cause of it.
"Alright, let's get going" David calls Min Soo. "Let's find the missing kitten".
Crow nestles inside his blanket, sweat dripping from his forehead as the man delves into an endless nightmare in his mind.
"Well, I don't know what happened to him" David chuckles. "But somehow, serves him right".
Instead of worried, David chuckles lightly as he pats the man's hair. He sounds half-upset and half-joking, he expresses his concern to Min Soo when he senses Crow's bloodthirst toward Min Soo. Since he's the one who suggested the spar, he wouldn't have thought that Crow will use that spar to channel his frustration.
The two of them exits the simplistic hut, the quest paper David took before implies that Caramel was lost inside Arachnosia Country. The two heads inside the gate, as the two grown-up men are now opening their eyes for a sign of an orange tabby cat with a pink collar. The 'Caramel' nametag still latches around the cat's neck.
Min Soo is a patient man, the man doesn't mind with the small quest David chose for him since he knew well that he's not an expert explorer. Still, he couldn't help but think that he possesses a divine power that might endanger others without him noticing. David also thinks that Min Soo might have triggered his innate power.
"Did I?" Min Soo thinks for himself.
"Min Soo, while we're doing this easy mission" David walks next to Min Soo who is still perplexed. "Did you do something to him?".
"As if I know" Min Soo shrugs.
Exhausted from the previous spar, Min Soo almost gives up his jelly legs to fall. David notices those subtle changes and shields him from falling. Min Soo blushes beet red, he backs away from David's arms and then coughs awkwardly. David grins at Min Soo's blushing face, it seems the explorer knew what's up.
"Min Soo? What is-".
When David was about to tell his pieces, Min Soo shushes him when he spots a tabby cat exits leisurely after stealing something from a bar. It jumps out from the bar's window, lands on the street in front of Min Soo's eyes.
David's eyes also shine when his eyes land on the tabby cat. He runs toward the cat, but unluckily the cat flew off before he could capture him.
"MIN SOO! THERE IT IS!" David yells. "CAPTURE IT!".
In the middle of the market, the cat jumps from one place to another, making it hard for both gentlemen to capture the orange cat. Playing cat and dog, they're going through the crowds to catch Caramel the orange tabby cat that belongs to none other than Luna King, David's younger sister.
David tells the importance of the cat to Min Soo while they're on a chase to find the orange tabby cat. Min Soo is not focused enough to hear the full story while they're chasing the cat through the markets and even being scolded by the residents for disturbance. Min Soo sighs as he rubs his hair.
"Can we save this for later David?" Min Soo sighs. "Not now".
"Right, I know" he chuckles. "I was merely being nostalgic of that cat".
The explorer seems to have a special bond with the cat as well, Min Soo's curiosity is piqued surely, especially if he worded it that way.
"Spill it after our quest" Min Soo smiles. "I want to hear everything".
The two exchanges smile as they chase the cats in full pursuit. Cornering the cat in the corner of an alley, the two gentlemen decided to use a different route. David corners the cat from the left side while the idol from the right side.
"Min Soo, capture the cat from the other side!" David instructed.
"Got it!" Min Soo prepares his stances.
