26 Diary 26: Dire Threats

The Arachnosia entrance gate is covered in flames, the scream of the townsfolk holler in the nightless country. David rushes into the scene, leaving the mage in his mansion; he immediately investigates the scene. Right in front of the gate is a wooden cart, engulfed in a raging fire. In the middle of the cart, a disfigured creature lays waste.

Next to the cart is none other than Wilson, David's old pal. The doctor who just treated Min Soo's health is also a true fighter. The gentleman wields a gun, the toxic smell comes out from his bullet nuzzles. The man smiles fiercely, reloading his bullet with his handmade poison bullets.

As a doctor and a chemist, Wilson was gifted with the power of nature and poison manipulation. David smells the acid from the disfigured creature that was burnt to a crisp in the wooden cart. The merchant of the cart screams in agony as his goods were burnt into nothingness. David inquires the doctor for an explanation.

"There's a flammable object in the cart, hence why the cart was burnt thanks to my bullet" Wilson sighs. "I have to apologize to the merchant for the damage".

The merchant carries gun powder, thus when the doctor fires its shots; it reacts toward the bullets thus the gun powder was burnt to smithereens. David looked at the burnt cart and the deceased body of the demon. It appears that a demon has starting to make its move toward the civilians' country.

If the capital knows about this sudden demon attack at Arachnosia gate, the government would be flustered. The knights won't stand idly for sure, the Union, and the Guild will probably join the fray now that the demon has been actively seeking to find destruction in a civilians' packed country.

Arachnosia has always been a small metropolitan city, it does attract the eyes of many guests. However, the country has always been secluded from the rest of the city due to its value as a country of fashion. Only some people visit this country, usually the duchess and royalties that love the smell of new fabrics.

Demons never try to invade Arachnosia, this is the first time for David to see the demons' suspicious behavior. It rouses suspicion for the explorer, but he's quite puzzled why they're starting to get active now of all of the times. It is as if, the mage arrival has pushed them to the limits.

He needs to investigate the demons before it gets out of hand, especially now that he left the mage alone with his butlers and maids; he cannot help but worry that the demons might target the foreigner instead of the townfolks. Perhaps, making a ruckus in the country was the demon's goal all along?

David cannot help but feel a bad omen airing above his head, but first, he needs to talk to the Knights and the Guildmaster. It's time for them to do their annual meeting in regards to counter the demons' sudden activity.

Min Soo is trapped in the mansion, the butler and maids have been eyeing his movement just in case he wants to escape the premise. The Idol is a fighter, the man wants to feel useful despite being sick or bedridden. The young man pouts as he looks outside his window, the night sky is in contrast with the flame that engulfs Arachnosia gate.

Min Soo sigh as he flips the book he picks up from David's chamber. The man lets him touch his private library just for the sake to keep Min Soo inside the mansion. Min Soo sulks slightly as he flips the history book he holds. He's investigating the history of Sanctus Luminera while looking at the night sky.

However, his worries grow when he hears a scream outside his mansion. It's the scream of David's butler and maids. It appears there's something outside the mansion that horrifies the butlers and maids alike. The sound of gushing blood and horrific screams engulfs the mansion in terror.

The bullets scar the door frame as the sound of the infamous creature hissing at the front door. Some maids are injured, they ran away from the premises. Min Soo hides behind the door of his bedroom as he peeks outside his bedroom door. It appears there's only one creature invading, but even one creature made the whole mansion a mess.

One of the butlers barged inside Min Soo's bedroom, his pale face explains the emergency they're in. The situation is dire, the butler asks the Idol to evacuate, the young man stands on his ground as he exits from the room still somewhat ill. The butlers and maids seem to talk to each other about the mansion protection.

"Why is the demon here!?" the maid screams.

"Like I know! Just when young master David and his guardians are nowhere to be around!" one of them replies. "Protect master guest at all cost!".

The guest they're talking about must be Min Soo, the idol gasps as the maids and butlers try their best to hinder the demon's way. Some of them get slaughtered, some of them manage to get away unharmed.

Min Soo yells toward them, not to attend to his safety. Min Soo knows a bit of self-defense, even though he fully knows well that his health dampens his mana usage.

His fever was caused by him overusing his mana without a care in the world during Nadhmill Quest. As the demon draws near, the butler that escorts Min Soo pushes Min Soo behind his back.

"Please, Mr. Min Soo! Get away from here!" the butler orders.

The bloodshed inside the mansion made the Idol's bronze eyes darken, there are about five or four people who are harmed and died under the demon's hands. His headache doesn't help the situation at all, he barely had the strength to wield his grimoire.

"Get your hands off him" a sullen voice resonates out of nowhere.

Just like that, all of a sudden the demon before him was sliced into half. A gigantic square-shaped sword slices the demon with ease as the purple liquids ooze out from the creature's body. Its fierce claws no longer move, the demon is truly dead at this point. A spiky raven-haired man appears behind the demon's deceased body.

The raven-haired man charming looks befuddled at the Idol who laid on the floor, frozen in fear. The large windows behind him reflected a full moon, overshadowing his full features, but his brilliant golden eyes gleam in the darkness like a cat out of the bag. The mysterious man then pulls his heavy blade in ease.

"It seems I arrived too late, need to apologize to David" the man mutters in disappointment.

"Ah! Mr. Crow! Thank you for coming!" the butler seems to be thankful.

The man's name seems to be Crow, but Min Soo was too exhausted to even process what just happened. The Idol fainted on the floor, but Crow is fast enough to shield him from hitting the floor directly, his curious golden eyes shine upon Min Soo's weakened body.

As if possessed, Crow stares at Min Soo's face endlessly like a cat hunting its new prey.
