5 Ch.05 Let's go Shopping (2)

The means of transport are several in the continent but the most used means is the train. It's a metro system that connects the entire city to the county and then to the continent.

The train is like a flying train travelling at 1328 mph or 2137 kph. It mostly travels in the sky with special guiding tracks. There is also a special train which is used for Intercontinental travel which is 3x the speed of this one.

But we will be using a Car. It was a sports car-like Lycan hypersport. It was made by Riddletechs. It was a tech conglomerate mainly focussing on logistics and aerospace technology.

The car was black in colour and was hovering it didn't have any tires. Klaus said, "Get in we don't have all day."

I got inside the car and the car was looking so amazing. I then said, "Where are we going?"

He started the car and said "Kead Row shopping district." The car started to lift up from the ground and Klaus said "Buckle up boy!" I then frantically started to look for the seatbelts and the car just took off in the air and we were gone from Home.

We reached the destination in no time. We parked the car and the shopping district was amazing looking with huge buildings with prominent stores like Driftonics, Signetworks, Pinnaclelectrics, Driftbeat, Arcanebooks.

I decided to go to the book shop first we then headed towards Archanebooks the largest chain retailer of books on this continent. The building looked completely out of place from other stores in the district it looked more like a bookstore from the middle ages. with stone walls and tiled rooftops, the building was three-story-tall.

We entered the building and on the right side of the door was the clerks and as you entered there were so many books about magic, beasts, herbs and potions everything you can ask for.

I said to Kalus "Master I am going to browse for some books please don't disturb me I will be back in an hour or so."

He said, "Okay kid I am off to catch some gals." I nodded and we both went different ways.

I then went around to look for books about the history of the Continent and the Religion of the Continent. Most of the people who are native are not religious you won't even see temples of any old gods or anything which is weird.

I then went around got the books from the first floor and about shopping process were amazing you just needed to click on the panel in front of the bookshelf and it would be added to the cart. The average books cost was around 500U -1000U

I then went to the second floor for books on Potions and how to process beasts and new magic theories and spellbooks. Books were more expensive on this floor than on the lower floor. The average books cost was around 2000U -10,000U

Then went for the third floor which had an entry fee non-refundable. I knew that books on this floor are going to be interesting.

The clerk looked at me I was looking like a tourist and said: "Mr. this is not a park it requires a fee to even look around if you don't have any money you should go before you embarrass yourself."

I then looked at the clerk she was alright but wasn't that good looking she was wearing heavy makeup and looked a bit old maybe around 32. I said nothing and just scanned the band and made payment. I didn't even bat an eye at the amount. She looked like she had seen a ghost. She regretted saying that.

I walked away and looked at the amount it was about 50,000U which was not a big deal the terms said if you buy a book that amount can be deducted but if you don't then you won't get the money back.

I then looked around and found that very few people were there. Like about 10 or something these must be the people with money.

I was looking for some interesting book and found one it was like in the corner in the history section it looked like it was buried in dust. The book was bound in red leather and had only a golden inscription on the inside "Knowledge of Old Gods." Its cost was about 70,000U. I thought to myself this could be interesting to read and unlike any other floor, you had to carry your own books because magic was forcefully cut off in this section.

I then went around and found another book which was an ash grey in colour it was called "Grimioure of Ixar" Ixar was a fire mage with great accomplishments to his name there is an order in his Honour the members are the families who are prominent in fire magic. The order was named The Order of Flame and Ash.

I was going to pick it up but suddenly I saw another hand reaching for it. Our hands touched.

She said "It is mine. I saw it first." She was standing 5' 2" tall, this fair-skinned woman has a cool feel about her. She has a wide face, a stubby nose, and puffy lips. Her hazel eyes are slanted and she has thick eyebrows. She has mid-back length, lank, bright red hair which is tied back.

She has muscular arms, a narrow torso with a non-existent waist, and short legs.

She usually wears perfectly pressed, unique clothes that are mostly dark-coloured and modest, and she wears no jewellery. She was wearing custom-made expensive boots.

I said, "It's not a bus seat that you can claim."

She looked at me and let go of the book and said "Can you even afford it, Tourist?"

I gave a smirk and said, "I can."

She then folded her hands and said "I want it how much is it going to take?"

I said, "*tut-tut I don't want money I want this book."

She said "Look here tourist I want the book. It is important to me."

I said, "Tell me how and I might give it to you."

She looked angry and her nose it a little movement which was amusing to me and she said "I want it for my father's birthday."

I asked, "Okay, that is acceptable who is your father?" I looked at her and she gave a smirk and proudly said "Thomas Riddle."

I said, "I can give you the book on one condition." She was expecting a bigger reaction from me and she looked at me like I was crazy to not fear her. I continued "I will give you this book if you invite me to the party."

She was baffled by my courage but she was also amused because this was new to her no one had ever dared to challenge her like this. She thought for a while and said "Okay, give me the book and I will send you the invite."

I said, "The invite first." She looked angry but touched her bracelet and then offered her hand and I shook it I received the invite.

I then gave the book to her and said "Pleasure doing business with you miss?"

She took the book and said "Lia Riddle." she then left the floor. I then looked around and found a book that was not as interesting as others but was still amusing it was about Spatial manipulation theory. It cost around 200,320 U but maybe it was worth it.

I then went to the clerk and looked at the old man he was literally playing with the Clerk. I then said "Master, why are you doing this in public? It is unbecoming of you?"

He punched me on the head and said "Brat, don't use big words. It is cocky of you. you got the books?" I nodded and he said, "It took you more than an Hour what were you doing?"

I smirked and said "Well, let's just say I am going to get some. Let's go."

We got out of the building and Klaus said "So you got an invite to the Riddle's party huh?"

I looked at him and questioned, "It is hard to get in his party?"

Klaus said, "Yeah, for normal people, he practically begs your father to come every year."

I said "We both are going. You are free tomorrow right?"

He said, "I don't know kid."

I said, "There will be free booze and women what more can we ask for."

He looked at me and said "I am starting to like you kid. Alright, tomorrow we are going but where are we going now?"

I said "Weapon shopping and we are also getting suits made."

We then went to the best weapons smith company on the entire planet. Phantomnlight.

We arrived in front and like the third floor, it also had an entrance fee it cost around 100,000 U to even enter.

We entered the shop it was a tall structure it was a 5 story building but only one story was accessible every other floor was used by the company for the production of weapons.

A clerk greeted us with this planets version of scotch. I drank it and it was just beautiful almost orgasmic. And yes there is no drinking age. The anatomy of the body is different from earth because of magic. We mature fast and die real slow.

I looked around and there were only 7 people and each with their own clerk. She asked, "What can I help you with Gentlemen?"

Klaus said, "I want the best daggers for this brat right here."

she lead us to a section of the store and as soon as we finished the scotch it would refill and I looked around and it was sam for everyone. But they had different drinks. Like Kalus had a screwdriver I suppose Vodka with Orange juice or it could be Orange juice.

We sat down and she showed us some blades and I found three which interested me

The first was A Golden Dagger. It was created for combat and has a long list of previous owners. The lightweight 7 inch/18cm blade has a razor-sharp edge and has no marks or engravings. It has a simple guard, a plain yellow grip, and a spherical pommel.

The scabbard is made of leather with no trimmings.

another was A Ruby Curved Dagger.

It was created for combat, is very old, but appears new and was stolen from its rightful owner. The surprisingly heavy 14 inch/36cm blade has a perfectly sharp edge and has no marks or engravings. It has an impractical guard, a plain dark yellow grip, and a spherical pommel.

The scabbard is made of dark yellow leather with no trimmings.

And third was A Platinum Dagger.

It was created for defence, is very old and has a long-forgotten name. The heavy 13 inch/33cm blade has an exceptionally sharp edge and has no marks or engravings. It has a practical guard, a plain crimson grip, and a typical pommel.

It has no scabbard.

I asked, "How much are they?"

The clear smiled and said, " The gold Dagger is 3.9 Million U and the Ruby Curved Dagger is 6.1 Million U and the Platinium Dagger is 4.2 Million U."

I said "I will take them all. and make sure to gift wrap the ruby Dagger." We got up and went toward the register. Klaus asked, "Why are you talking three?"

I said, "We are going to a birthday party got to give a gift to the birthday boy." I drank the scotch and I swear I have drunk a bottle's worth and I still don't feel drunk.

We went to the tailor shop called Silk threads. It sounds weird but okay. We went inside and it was like the old school tailor shop. You enter you get a drink there is a Master and an apprentice you know how it goes.

The Master asked, "So what kind of suits do you gentlemen require?"

I said "We want suits for a high-class event. I want something simple and elegant and my master over here would like something that says 'I am here to Party'."

Master chuckled and said, "Looks like your apprentice knows who you are."

Then the lady apprentice took our measurements and the master said "They will be done in two days."

I said, "If you don't mind sir the event is tomorrow if somehow you can push it to tomorrow afternoon we would be grateful."

He said, "It can cost you more?"

I said, "Money is of no matter, sir."

He then said, "Then tell me where to drop the suit?"

I said, "That won't be necessary I will send someone to get the suits."

We then left the shop and Klaus said "That was Daylight robbery. Who takes 450,262 U for two suits?"

If I was poor I would say so but since I am not poor it doesn't matter. I said "Doesn't matter Master let's get something to eat and leave. It is getting dark."

"Why did you invite a nobody?" Thomas.

"He made a deal that is why, father." Lia said confidently and continued and besides "I sent him a fake invitation."

The father said "I know but that is not the problem how could he intimidate you like that. I am going to teach that boy a lesson."

Lia said, "It's okay father." She really didn't want that to happen she knew how his father would react that is why she sent the fake invite.

Lia thought to herself "Please don't come here"
