A Name

It was a silent night, with the dusty gray clouds outstretched blanketing the sky as tiny droplets of water fell reflecting the beautiful and colorful light of the city. Below it where citizens thrived together with all sorts of clothing ranging from light green gowns to jackets and shorts, the droplet landed on deaf ears as it slid down an invisible dome and into the lush brown and rocky soil.

Watching the rain fall and slide down the barrier was a little boy that had light brown skin that was comparable to honey's hue, and eyes that ran a deep purple in the left eye that shone with mystery and royalty, arrogance was flowing around the gaze only to be contrasted by the light purple of his right eye that let off a calm feel and shone with awareness and sadness as the lights reflected off the two shades.

His hair was snowy white that went down to his shoulder blades, it coupled well with his cold smile that made it seem like he was plotting mischief or something to cause trouble, the aura that the boy exuded around him was unique to him because it wasn't to put one on edge, nor was it one to put someone at ease It was more like he wasn't there but always watching.

His face was a look of astonishment as the silence and every so often thuds penetrated the barrier when the rain hit it, a second had passed soon turning into minutes, and those minutes turning into hours, yet the look of astonishment never left the boys face until a cold hand was placed on his shoulder.

The hand belonged to an old man who was standing straight and tall, he had a buff build, dull silver hair due to age, his eyes were an ocean blue that looked out at the rain with a sense of wisdom and calmness. "It's about time to head home boy you're the pride of our city and you'll be getting your name tomorrow and even a possible family maybe an ability as well" the old man stated, as the boy turned to look at him.

"Yeah though I would rather stay with you uncle Dante I could help with the orphanage and even help out more with the city, even though it's only doing the jobs no one else wants to" the boy said, his smile hasn't left his face but his gaze has changed if only slightly.

Dante the old man smiled at the boy and patted his head before turning around to walk to the orphanage. What the boy was facing when staring at Dante's back, was a tall old man whose toned skin helped in reflecting the lights from the city that shone like stars under the rainy night. sky

[System search has begun]

The next day as the sun rays reflected off of the water that managed to enter the city, the same boy could be seen sitting in front of Dante with several other kids around him. "today is the day you all get a name, and it's an awakening of a new destiny. I hope you get adopted and live happy lives" the kids 13 years in age all clapped for Dante as he gave a smile.

Shhhhhhh

Boom

Before Dante could utter another word, a bright light and intense heat had engulfed them all as the orphanage was blown apart, around them was a hole which no longer had life, while chemicals and debris along with fire had blown the city clean off the face of the earth only leaving rubble of the once nice and clean city in its place.

[The chaos god system]

[A second chance at life]

[Host seems to be on death's door. the system will fix that. In place of the other rewards along with giving the skill regeneration as a side effect.]

Misaki was indeed on the brink of death, his head was half crushed and his brain could be seen on the ground beside him, still inside but leaking out a bit, the lower half of his body only being connected by his intestine, while his chest and arms had been so severely crushed that it looked like he was a pile of jello, it was a miracle that he was still alive but the miracle didn't last as his heart stopped beating.

Misaki was a child born into the world and quickly taken out of it, he was given no name and dropped at an orphanage, everyone around him in the orphanage was the same and gaining a name was done by showing you should have one there.

The world had dealt everyone of the city a bad hand, after all it was the only city where the humans hadn't evolved to develop abilities, nor did they choose to learn them or hunt beasts.

Abilities were either inherited or learned, the inheritors of these abilities were called crows, while those who learned them were called ravens, and those who chose not to have an ability but be in the same line of work.

Hunters.
