Chapter 1

It was October 11, 2011, at 11:11 am. I was in school, second period, fidgeting with a pencil and waiting for the nine minutes left in class to pass. Then suddenly, everything was gone. I was in a dark room, and after a few seconds, torches lit up in every corner. A man stood in front of me. He wore a suit and loafers, a corset, and black leather gloves, and he was the man who would give me the choice of a lifetime.

As I stood in the room everything seemed to be so much more vivid. The fire was so orange, the untraceable breeze was so cold, and the floor and walls smelled so damp and moldy. It was surreal, and almost enough to make me scream in horror. I was frozen, until I heard him speak and my head whipped around so I was staring straight at him. "Jinx Atlas. My name is Sebastian, and I am here to give you a choice, but first, let me explain what is happening to you at the moment." And so, they had no choice but to listen as Sebastian spoke.

"I am a being of pure nothingness, yet I control everything. Everything except one thing. You. It is my job to be the puppeteer of everything in the world you live in, but you my dear, you do not have the marionette string that everyone else has, and that intrigues me. Now, onto your choice. You have two options. Option one, I send you back to the timeline, which thanks to me is currently paused, and you die in a car accident later today as fate intended you to. Or option two, you become as I am, and help me to control your town when miracles get out of hand. Helping me to get Lenden City back to peace when something goes wrong. Lately there have been many issues with the town you live in. The recent rash of earthquakes and crimes you have experienced are all due to this. So now, make your choice. You may die, or you may become a servant to the higher powers, what will you choose Jinx?"
