2 Are You A Stump?

Arya had a quick shower to sober herself up since she drank a little too much earlier. She was still hesitant to do what Rita wanted. However, Rita had already began to help her. That only meant she was serious with her plan.

She will need time for everything, to find a proper job and earn money. She was not even sure if she could earn enough as a starter. But with Rita's help almost everything had been settled. Money does make the world go round and that's the ugly reality.

At first, she tried to borrow money from the bank but she had been rejected since she didn't have a job yet. She struggled hard in her last weeks at school just to graduate. She tried to borrow money from a loan shark, but those people looked at her with lust. Implicating something ambiguous in return.

While brushing her teeth she looked at her reflection in the mirror. She came from a well to do family. She had the beauty and the brain. She knew she was gorgeous and blessed with a great body. However, there's so many people like her nowadays.

But Kay insisted that she was the perfect one for this task probably because she had a weak point right now not to turn them down. She had known Kay for almost a year now. He was well known in the entertainment industry, a third gender who managed big shots.

When she was still in school, she first met him during their campus beauty pageant where she represented their department. Kay was one of the judges and from then on he had been trying to convince her to try her luck in the entertainment industry under his management. She refused then because she wanted to prioritize in her studies.

They became good friends since then – Kay enjoyed her company because Arya was an open person, the 'what you see is what you get' type. He liked her straightforwardness.

But Arya really couldn't help to think - that she will not succeed with Ryu. She had seen from the news how frightening Ryu Ken can be.

All those who had tried to put him down both in business and personally just crumbled in a snap. Even a well-known actress was humiliated in public because of one question that Ryu brutally slammed to a reporter.

"Ryu, is it true that you and Liza are already engaged?" the reporter asked and Ryu just frowned and said, "Do I have to answer that nonsense?"

That went trending for a month and several reports said that Liza was the one throwing herself to the business tycoon. In that instant, Liza's career crashed.

It seems hard to fool his kind. Arya sighed deeply. She had one week to get his attention and be near him in this country.

Arya prepared herself to sleep when she received a call from Kay that Ryu was inside the hotel bar right now. So she hurried and fixed herself up and went to the hotel bar.

She did not even bother to look around inside but directly ordered a cocktail. She needed more drinks. Kay told her to be herself and always stay at the site where Ryu can often see her and they will handle the rest. Although confused, she just followed.

She wore a stylish long sleeve, off shoulder outfit that stopped above her knees showing off her beautiful long legs and fit in her sexy curves with perfection.

A man in his forties suddenly approached her, he was speaking in Japanese. She didn't understand him so she answered in English. Yet, he touched her arm and was trying to yank her.

Arya panicked and pulled her arm. "Hey, what's wrong with you? Can't you understand English? I said I don't know you! How dare you touch me?" she shouted and looked at the bartender and said, "Can you please call security? I'm being harassed here!"

The man was drunk and still speaking in his language. He seemed to be cursing and shouting at her. He moved closer and was about to hit her when a lean body blocked her. The hit landed on the man's back instead.

Arya tilted her head up to see the dark cold face of Ryu. She heard him speak, "Are you a stump waiting to just get hit? Don't you know a simple thing called dodging?"

Arya was taken aback and all she could say was the word, "Thank you."

By that time security had entered the bar. She saw Ryu talk to the security team while Arya just watched. She could still smell his masculine scent around her.

'What the hell Arya! What scent are you talking about! He is literally three meters away from you!' she scolded herself for having that thought.

Then she felt something was placed on her shoulders.

"They want to take your statement." Ryu said and Arya just nodded as she looked astonishingly at Ryu who covered her bare shoulders with his coat and held her shoulders as they walked towards the security.

'Maybe he is not that terrible.' Arya thought as she was feeling delighted with Ryu's gentlemanly gesture.
