24 Worthy Enough To Entrust The Legacy

At Ken Mansion...

"So, I see, our Ryu's business is going well so far..." Old Master Ken suddenly spoke, not looking at his son.

"Yes Father, he is standing strong, like a real Ken." Karl proudly replied. Yes, he was a proud father. He was proud of how his son grew up to be someone confident when it comes to business, firmly insisting on the things that he believed in and wanted. Unlike him, who knew nothing but just following his father, like a puppet.

Old Master spoke, "Checkmate!"

Karl scratched his head. He had never won against his father, not even at simple chess game.

"I am sure, you can no longer win against Ryu at this game." He commented unconsciously.

"I am the one who has trained my grandson, so his knowledge and tactics have all basically came from me. He will arrive tonight, so make sure he will have dinner with us tomorrow. It's time he gets involved in the family business." Old Master Ken instructed.

Karl scratched his head once more. His son Ryu was hardheaded and didn't listen even to his mom now. Ryu didn't want to be dictated by the Old Master, and he admired his son for having that courage in him.

He was very curious about how would his father convince Ryu to get involved in the family business, which his son was running away from? It was like hitting cotton.

Old Master Ken saw Karl's negative reaction and he frowned. He knew that grandson of his was a tough one to hold by a neck, and that was the exact reason he liked him the most among the rest, that's why he trusted him most of all.

Unlike the other, who acted good and obedient in front of him, but was doing the opposite behind his back.

He let out a long sigh; his family was a total mess right now, because of the greed that was clouding each and every one of them. They were not satisfied with what they had. They wanted more; to gain more power, more money and be above others. They had started realizing their plans of grabbing the whole family business.

He was already getting old and he wanted to find someone worthy enough to entrust the legacy he had built for so long. He wanted to find someone deserving and he believed that Ryu could manage everything well.

He knew it would be a tough battle but what could he do? Should he just let all his hard work, sweat and pain crumble like that?

Then, he looked at his son Karl who was trustworthy enough, but unfortunately, he was out of the line when it came to decision making and managing. He shook his head as he looked at Karl who was scratching his head while looking at his phone.

It even took him long to think about how to contact, message or convince his son to attend the dinner he was asking. Maybe, it would be best to ask his daughter-in-law's help, instead of him.

......

Arya had been dialing Kay's number to confirm her ticket because during check-in her name was not in the business class passengers list.

'What's the point of upgrading her seat?' That question was roaming in her head.

After failing to call Kay for several times, she just let the flight attendant guide her to the private suite of the airline.

Her mouth was wide open when she saw Ryu inside, grinning at her.

"You upgraded my ticket?" Arya asked in awe.

Ryu winked at her and said, "Surprise! Why are you frowning? Aren't you happy to see me?"

Arya rolled her eyes and said, "We just parted, about less than an hour, right? You always do things on your own."

Ryu laughed and hugged her, "It's because I can't part ways with you for long."

Arya's face flushed and she hugged Ryu back. She was not complaining at all but she was overwhelmed with his unexpected actions.

"You love wasting money, huh?" She said when she noticed how luxurious the private suite was. Ryu just grinned at her.

The attendant served their dinner, and Arya savored their meal. Ryu noticed that Arya was eating with a good appetite so he put half of the food from his plate to Arya's. He enjoyed just watching her eat like that. He was already feeling full watching her eat heartily.

Then, a bottle of wine was served. Arya was confused when she saw a covered plate at the center.

"What is that? Aren't we already done eating? Did you order another course?" Arya asked consciously when the attendant brought a covered, silver plate out of nowhere.

Ryu just grinned and said, "Yeah, I got that only for you. Open it."

Although Arya was confused, she raised her hand to open the cover.
