25 Marking You As Mine

"What is this?" Arya murmured. She was so stunned that she didn't know what to say. A platinum ring with a big diamond was sparkling right before her eyes.

Ryu smiled and said, "That's for you." He stood up to get the ring and walked to Arya, who also stood up and suddenly slapped her face.

"Ouch, that hurts." He heard her murmur. Ryu was caught off guard with her childish action and laughed out of the blue.

"You are not dreaming, okay! So, stop that already," Ryu spoke still chuckling.

Then, he took her hand and put the ring on her finger. "It fits you well." He said, smiling lovingly at her.

Arya, who just came back to reality, after being on the cloud nine for a minute, said. "I can't accept this. It's too much."

She was about to take off the ring, but Ryu stopped her. "Will you stop exaggerating? Nothing is too much for you. This ring is my mark. I'm marking you as mine, never take it off, or I will be really angry, okay?"

He was looking intently into her eyes, it was a look of warning, and Arya suddenly felt that burying herself under the ground would have been much better at that moment. Then, she heard him say, "This ring is considered our engagement ring, so whoever see this on you will know that you are already taken."

Arya was looking at the ring on her hand, which was still held by Ryu. "Isn't this a little bit early? You barely know me. I told you not to get so serious." She murmured.

Ryu frowned, "Stop it already. I told you I hate delays, and we are already on the process of knowing each other. Is there something that's bothering you? You keep on saying those nonsensical words."

Arya bowed her head slightly, she was at a loss. She wanted to tell him everything but she couldn't find the words. It seemed so hard to talk.

Ryu held her chin to raise her head and to see her beautiful face. Arya was suppressing the tears that wanted to flow out from her eyes. She quickly kissed Ryu on his lips. It was a very deep kiss, which left Ryu gasping for air and then, she tightly hugged him.

She wanted and tried to speak, but it was really hard to release the words. So, in the end, she only could say, "Nothing's wrong, I am just really happy right now. I just hope that I won't disappoint you. Just remember not to give your all or invest too much on me because it will be difficult for both of us if we end tragically later on."

Ryu laughed and commented during the hug, "Miss Arya Tan, why are so pessimistic on things? Don't think too much about the future and let's just make the best out of our current situation. Do you know the idiom -'Cross that bridge when we get there? Why don't we just do that instead, okay?"

Arya sighed, feeling Ryu held her tightly in his embrace.

"Alright, let's do that then," she replied in a low, feeble voice.

Ryu wanted to drop her off at her apartment, but Arya wanted to go directly to the hospital, so she just told him that her dad had already arranged a pick-up for her. But in reality, it was Rita, who had arranged it.

So, Ryu just walked her to the car that was already waiting for her. She was about to get inside when Ryu swiftly pulled her for a light kiss on her lips and a quick hug. "Why do you always forget the proper way to say goodbye when you're with me?"

Arya just smiled at him blushingly and said, "Sorry, I'll make sure to remember next time."

Rita was sitting at the front passenger seat of the tinted car and was looking at them. Then, she sighed and shook her head as she observed the two lovebirds. Her Boss was shrewd and always harbored deep grudges...

She also wondered how everything would end up, but right now her job was to execute things perfectly and make sure Ryu Ken would emotionally crumble. She didn't know if it was justified to do so. She was also confused, but no matter what, she would only side with her Boss: she owed her Boss everything, her life, and future.

"I suppose, we can execute the plan perfectly in just a short span of time," Rita commented when Arya was already inside the car. Arya remained quiet.

"Go to the hospital," Rita instructed the driver.

"Here's the key and password to your apartment. Your mom helped to pack all your stuff, which we have already transferred there. I will just remind you regarding the contract. I hope you won't violate it. I assure you our Boss is a very cruel person. It's not like I am scaring you, but it's a fact. Boss hates to be cheated and anybody who has done so ended up tragically. But don't worry, as soon as you execute your part of the contract accordingly we will set you free and let you go unscratched."

Arya's face paled. She was not fully aware of it. She thought it was just a simple task. Rita's words were determined, it was a warning and she was not dumb to not get what she was saying. It was more like her life was on the line right now.
