48 Lina met Smith again

Lina stood still in the lobby, as she remembered and analyzed the conversations she had with her new boss, Mr. Wang. Her thoughts were soon interrupted by a man who was talking on his mobile, as he walked inside the lobby area. He was none other than - Lina's most favorite customer at Savoy's Kitchen, Mr. Smith. Lina smiled at the very sight of Smith.

Mr. Smith frequently visited Savoy's Kitchen. His good looks, charming, easy-going and friendly nature, had made him very popular among the waitresses. Every waitress wanted to serve Smith. And Lina was fortunate to have been granted more than that - a selfie photograph with Smith.

Smith's carefree and friendly behavior with the members of the opposite sex had made him a subject of various gossips among the media houses, friends & family and the company's employees. One of the hottest topic of gossip was, whether Smith was a womanizer or not.

"So, you're the one who published that stupid news about me. You are going to regret this!!" Smith threatened someone on the mobile call, as he walked past Lina.

"Mr. Smith?" Lina guessed.

Smith stopped and turned around to meet the girl. "Yes?" replied Smith.

"Uh Oh!" Lina was speechless.

"Did you call me?" asked Smith.

"N.. no. I mean.. Yes.. I don't know." Lina hesitated.

Smith looked at the crimson haired girl with great attention. "Have we met somewhere before? Your face looks familiar," remarked Smith.

Lina tried to hide her fear and gave out her best smile. "Hi! I'm Lina, Mr. Wang's new personal assistant," Lina introduced herself.

"Oh really! Nice to meet you," smiled Smith, as he took a step towards Lina and shook hands with her. "It seems as if I've seen you before as well. Do we know each other?" Smith inquired.

"Mr. Smith, actually.. I.. I know you from .." hesitated Lina.

Her words were interrupted by Smith. "Magazines! I knew you would say this. You know me from the magazines. Don't believe in those articles. I don't like those gossip-mongers," guessed Smith.

No! No! I know you from the restaurant - Savoy's Kitchen," corrected Lina.

"Savoy's Kitchen? Ahmm! That's weird, because I've never seen you there," wondered Smith.

"You can't be serious!" mumbled Lina. She soon assumed that Smith wasn't able to recognize her because of her drastic transformation.

"I didn't get you. What did you say?" asked Smith.

No! Nothing, I was just talking to myself," explained Lina.

"So.. Do you hangout at the Savoy's Kitchen quite often?" asked Smith

Err.. No.. I mean yes. I used to hangout at the restaurant, but now I don't like it. The place isn't like what is used to be earlier. Their best of the waitresses have left the job." winked Lina as she tried to regain her confidence. "I don't hang out there anymore," she smiled.

Smith smiled back at Lina. "I understand. We can explore new places. I know a lot of happening spots in the city," winked Smith as he checked out Lina's amazing looks again.

"Haha! Sure! Lets do it," Lina giggled with excitement, but soon realized that she was being too speedy. Her target is someone different. "I mean to say.. that you can always explore new places.. by yourself. And do let me know about them, so I can visit them too.. alone," Lina corrected herself.

Smith's smile vanished away. "Is Wang in his office?" asked Smith.

"N.. no. I mean.. yes. Mr. Wang is in his office. And Ms. Chunhua is with him. They were going to have a discussion on a weird topic.. it was 'robotic models.. only if I've heard it right," shared Lina as her expression showed that she was totally unaware of the subject, but curious to know more.

"Ahh!! The robotic models! Such an important discussion! You should know about this," smiled Smith. "We'll sit someday.. and I will explain you everything about this subject," winked Smith.

Lina laughed. "Sure! I would love to learn from you," Lina winked back.

Smith smiled at Lina and walked towards Wang's office. Lina stood in the lobby, smiling at what had just happened.

Lina decided to talk to some of the staff members and get close to them. This would help her to know more about Wang, Smith and everything that is going on in the company.
