71 71 He Was Not Busy

"You don't have to worry about anything. I am a professional so I can at least hide my displeasure to him." Grandpa He said as if afraid that she would be rejected.

However, his words only made October to worry more. She was still suspicious about this for it was so sudden, but she has to comply with her grandpa's whims. Also, her Grandpa just admitted to her that he was not fond of Lexus.

"Okay."

"Great. Then I'll send someone later to pick you up." Grandpa He was excited. He had not seen her for almost a year now. If he can, he would have already made a visit to her office by now.

Unfortunately, his granddaughter was just so heartless as to even forbid him in stepping into the company she was working with. Her reason was that she wanted to avoid getting into unnecessary trouble. The word "unnecessary" was already prickling his old heart with needles but he can't do anything about it for it was his granddaughter who requested him and he just can't make himself turn down the offer she personally requested.

"No need." October declined Grandpa He's offer almost instantly. Soon, the atmosphere she was giving off turned somewhat warm and her gaze softened. "Lexus will get me after work."

Grandpa He's lips twitched and his face has a dark scowl. Tch. That darn brat. Suddenly, he felt that October's voice doesn't have its usual coldness in it. It was milder to the point where he can almost say that it was soft and warm. Was he just imagining it?

"Hmph! Fine." Grandpa He harrumphed. He can already feel that his granddaughter was slowly getting further and further away from him. But he can't complain about it now. All he could do at this moment was watch over her from afar. With that, he cursed Lexus more in his heart for trying to steal his precious granddaughter away from him.

After the call ended, October decided to give Lexus a call to inform him of their dinner tonight with her grandfather.

After the first ring, the call was immediately connected much to October's surprise.

"Mm." A cold and deep voice sounded on the phone followed by some flicks of paper and hushed voices in the background.

Hearing this, October blinked her eyes and said, "Am I perhaps disturbing you? If so, I can call you later."

"No, you are not bothering me at all and I am not busy." Lexus coldly said to October as he leaned his back comfortably in his chair nonchalantly.

Hearing this, the Directors in the meeting room immediately turned stiff and couldn't help but look at their CEO with cold sweat running down their backs despite the room being fully air-conditioned. They all shut their lips tightly but their eyes and minds were in chaos.

You may not be busy, but we are!

That's what all of the directors in the room were thinking at this moment. They then turned to look at the other directors and their eyes mirrored the other.

That's right! October called while Lexus was having a meeting with them. At first, the directors were complaining about how rude for someone to turn on their phones while they were having a meeting. All of them grumbled. However, before they could continue complaining, they saw their CEO's swift move as he pulled his phone from his pocket and immediately answered.

Seeing this really made all the directors to break out a lot of sweat. They were not expecting this to happen and all of their complaints were all forcefully and bitterly swallowed down by them.

What's more odd was that their CEO seemed like he was acting nonchalant and relaxed; however, the atmosphere in the room was just so deadly silent and cold. They could say that it was really suffocating. Especially that creepy smile playing on his lips, it was so scary that they could not help but shudder in fear.

What the heck was going on? What happened to their CEO who was acting so weird and scary at the same time? Who was that calling him? And he even said that he was not busy? Was having a meeting with the company's directors not considered busy at all? Just who was it that was calling him?

The directors looked curiously at their demon-like boss. However, they were more curious who he was talking to that could elicit this demon's wrath. Almost instantly, all of the directors felt pity on who it was for he or she just awakened a sleeping demon that likes to run havoc in this human world.

Assistant Yu stood at the back with his hands behind his back and looked at his young master who was being such a demon despite being happy inside. He just can't seem to come to terms that his young master really was an abnormal one. He could even feel the dangerous aura emitting out of his young master's body making him shiver in fear.

He just can't get used to this at all.

Assistant Yu then turned to the directors sitting stiffly in the room with pale complexions and eyes full of fear as they looked at their terrifying boss. Based on the shocked faces of theirs, Lexus continued to talk with October, completely ignoring their curious gazes.

"Are you certain that I am not disturbing you?" October asked again, not totally believing Lexus.

"Yes." Lexus had just blatantly lied without batting his eyes. "So, is there something you wanted to tell me?"

October pursed her lips tightly for a moment before opening it again to say, "My grandpa invited us to eat dinner with him tonight. Is it okay for you today?"

Lexus immediately raised an eyebrow as soon as he heard her. He wondered what He Tian was trying to do by inviting him too but no matter how he think about it, he just couldn't come up with a plausible reason to turn it down and so he accepted the invitation.

"I'll pick you up from your work." Lexus said as his squinted coldly and scanned on the directors who were curiously looking at him. As soon as his cold gaze landed on a director's body, they would instantly feel their breathing tightening up.

"Mm." October nodded her head. No matter how cold he was currently am toward her at this moment, she did not take it too much and just treat it as if it was nothing. "I'll wait for you."

As soon as Lexus heard that, his smile widened even more and there was warmth in his chest when he heard her melodious voice.

Unfortunately, Lexus' smile was making the directors who was intently looking at him to quiver even more. For such an eerie and crafty smile, it was impossible to not be scared about it. And considering the factors of how dangerous their master can be, they have already concluded that the person on the other end of the phone will probably not have much time left before that person will meet his or her end.
