69 69 His Past

"You damn brat!" Song Wei slammed his hand on his table so hard that the table slightly shook during impact. Jane looked at her husband coolly and crossed her arms over he chest. She really has to give it to his husband who doesn't seem like he was getting tired of always shouting on his son. 

"Wei, stop shouting. My ears are starting to hurt." Jane said and sat on the chair in front of Song Wei's table.

"Oh. Sorry, darling. Yes, I will lower my voice now. Okay? So don't be angry now." Song Wei smiled dotingly on his wife. He was merciless toward his son but he was soft with his wife, that was how he always was. 

Lexus sat on his chair with dead eyes. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at how fast his father's attitude change whenever he was talking to his mother. On normal families, the head of the family will always dote on their son. Yet in this family, Song Wei literally neglected his son and was instead focused on doting on his wife. 

Because of how it had always been like this since young, Lexus has already grown accustomed with them. But because of how the attitudes of his parents were somewhat peculiar, he grew cold and indifferent.

Despite this, he was raised properly with all the right studies and training in order to be the next head of the family. Since he was only 4 years old, he was already taught on how to act properly in front of people. He was also taught by professionals in a lot of different fields but the course about managing a business was more emphasized.

Because of the standing of the Song Family, the heir should be capable in fighting. It is in their family that one should be able to not just protect himself, but to be a person strong and dangerous enough to the point that peopple with bad intentions will have to think twice in dealing with the Song Family. 

With that, Lexus was trianed since he turned 6. He was able to use a gun skillfully and shot targets accurately, including moving targets, at the age of 12. Then when he was barely 14, he was tossed in the family's barracks and sent into missions. There, he made his first kill.

Lexus was barely hanging. But because of how tenacious he was, he overcame the challenges his family have laid for him quite spledidly. With that, his coldness, ruthlessness and indifference evolved exponentially. 

Lexus was raised to be a strong and capable leader and the price was that he was not given the chance to grow up innocently and play around with his friends. He doesn't have any fond childhood memories for he only have memories of his hellish training day after day. With that, it resulted in his darkness to grow. Thinking thoroughly, he doesn't also much memories about his parents.

"Anyway, you did told us that you liked a girl but you did not tell us that you will marry her immediately! Damn it, Lexus! You barely knew the girl but you already tied her down. And to think that the woman you married was in fact the granddaughter of the He family head." Song Wei was really shocked when he got a call from He Tian's assistant saying about it. "Did you force her to marry you?"

"No." Lexus codly replied as his mind wandered toward his wife. He was wondering when he can see her again. I miss her. I want to see her.

"Don't you dare lie to me." Song Wei hissed on the phone.

"I'm not." Lexus flatly said.

"..." 

When Lexus noticed that his father went silent, he wondered if their call have ended but when he looked at his phone, it was still connected. But what happened to his father? Even his mother was silent.

As Lexus was still wondering about it, he suddenly heard his father's booming laugh on the other end of the phone. He was left dumbfounded.

"That's how you do it, son! You are really your father's son!" Song Wei was extremely ecstatic. Even if he was a little angry at the sudden piece of big news, he was more than happy to welcome a daughter-in-law. And basing on how his son has such a really prickly personality, he was really curious of what type of woman his son chose.

"Loud." Jane slapped her husband's shoulder while snatching the phone from him and said, "Son, do you have any plans on the wedding? You do know that welcoming a new member of the Song family is not be treated lightly."

"Yes, mother. I know." 

"Have you already prepared for it?" Jane asked questions after questions while sitting with crossed legs. 

"No."  Lexus curtly replied, not wasting a single word in answering their questions. He then run his fingers through his hair and leaned on his chair comfortably.

"Okay. I'll help with the preparations. It should be a grand one." Jane coolly said but a bright light shone from her blue eyes and a smile was on her lips. She was really excited in meeting the woman who caught her son's attention. She can't wait to meet her daughter-in-law.

"About that, mother. I have to ask my wife about it first." 

Jane smirked and teased, "I didn't know that my son would act like so. Do you really dote and pamper her?"

"Yes." Lexus immedaitely answered without a second thought. 

"Okay. Since that what you wanted to do then do it. Just let us know about what she said. I'll help in every possible way." Jane kindly offered. She was not a good mother to her son but she really don't have much choice. She was to be strict with his son but by doing so, it was also hurting her. And now that her son finally found someone that can maybe lighten his life, then all is well.

"Yes. I'll tell her about you." Lexus said nonchalantly. After that, the call ended. Surprisingly, his family didn't say much about his sudden marriage and it seems like they were thrilled about it instead. He then felt a sudden relief and the weight in his heart was lifted.
