68 68 Talk With A Cup of Tea

"Grandfather, I'll take care of your granddaughter and your great grandchild." Lexus said with his cold and deep voice filled with firmness in it. All he could do right now was to convince the only family of October who truly cared for her. He has to at least make Grandpa He be at ease.

"..." Grandpa He did not say anything. Instead, he stared blankly at his tea as his mind wandered in the past where he played secretly with his granddaughter. At that time, when his daughter was still alive, she smiled a lot. Her smile were so innocent and bright enough to brighten his cloudy and murky life. Her smile and laughter to the point of making her eyes turn to crescents were just so contagious.

She would run a lot around the playground and when she fell down, she wouldn't let out a single whimper and would just bite her lips to hold her cry. She would then look at him and smile brightly as if nothing had happened. She looked radiant.

However, that smile vanished slowly ever since her mother died. Her daughter...Ling'er...

No matter how much Grandpa He regretted it, it was already too late. He can never rewrite the past. But now that her granddaughter chose this man...

Grandpa He looked at Lexus with a really deep and meaningful gaze. This man was the person his granddaughter chose. He really felt complicated abou this. He really did not expect that things will turn like this in a blink of an eye. 

"I heard you first met a month ago?" Grandpa He asked, in a voice so low and full of emotions. "And don't call me grandfather."

Lexus' lips twitched but he answered Grandpa He quite frankly, "Yes, that is true."

"And how many times did you 2 meet?" Grandpa He's blood were starting to boil again. If not for his great control of his emotions, he would have already hit this devilish man before him.

"Thrice." Lexus curtly replied. However, those 3 meetings of them were one of the most memorable moments of his life. Lexus frowned. When did he become such a sentimental man? He was a ruthless person and a very strict leader but he was not sentimental. Was this because of October?

"Three times?!" Grandpa He roared again. But who wouldn't? There meeting were too little! Are youngsters nowadays this crazy?

"Yes." Lexus smirked as he found it funny too. It's astonishing, really. But for him, it's not. "If I could, I would have already married her the first time we met."

Lexus' seemed brazen with his words but he really mean it. He was serious with this. And Grandpa He knew that Lexus was being serious.

"Hmph! At least you have good eyes." Grandpa He has nothing else to say now. Witnessing and hearing such straightforward answers with his forthright eyes, it really made him be utterly speechless. He really could not understand what youngsters nowadays think. Are they this decisive like Lexus?

"Yes." And he would never let go of her even if the heavens opposes their relationship. That is how he was and will never waver from it.

To all the people who have done her wrong, if not for his wife who doesn't seem like she has a plan to rely on anyone including him, he would have already seek justice for her. Wait...but then again, he can do it in the shadows, right? As Lexus thought about this, his eyes glinted a flash of bloodthirst and his smile was eerily cold with a touch of danger.

Grandpa He looked hard on Lexus' dark smile. The same as his grandfather, cunning and dangerous yet protective on the people he hold dear. With this, Grandpa He blinked his old eyes and said candidly, "I believe you still haven't told your family about your marriage so I told them for you. Hmph! Don't think that I will let my granddaughter not wear her wedding dress!"

"Yes." Lexus can already feel the anger from his family from miles away.

It was not that they don't like the idea of marriage. Just that, they were not informed about his marriage and was not informed who their daughter-in-law was. Their son was just that heartless and would now disregard his family. And now, they were told that their son married the He family's granddaughter. 

"You don't seem scared. Tch." Grandpa He clicked his tongue then drank his tea. Such a boring man.

"Master He, I am not the type of man who cowers over something so trivial." Lexus inddiferently said. That's right. He doesn't care much about the opinion of others, even if they were his family. However, this does not mean that he wouldn't care what others think about his family. He was just a type of person who goes with anything that piques his interest. He will not care about what others think as long as he likes that thing or that person. In other words, Lexus is a conceited and greedy man.

Grandpa He put down his now empty cup and stood up. He then fixed himself and started walking toward the door. One of his men opened the door for him while the rest went out in a file. Before he could stepp out of the office, Grandpa He paused and said, "If you bully my granddaughter and great grandchild, you will face the wrath of the whole He family."

With that, Grandpa He grandly exited his company. No employees dared to raise their questions and no one dared to obstruct their path as they went out of the company silently. However, when Grandpa He's group were already out of sight, the whole building went into an uproar. But it did not take long for those loud voices to be silenced due to Assistant Yu's swift action. 

Lexus stood by his window as he looked at the tall buildings beside his while his hands were tucked safely in his pockets. He was right now deep in thought on how to tell October about his family. He then frowned and pinched his nose. Just thinking about his family was enough to make his head hurt. 

Just as he was thinking about October, Lexus' phone rang. Taking it out of his pocket, he looked at the caller ID and his lips instantly twitched. He declined the call and shoved it back in his pocket but without a second passed, his phone rang yet again. No matter how many times he declined the call, it would still call him again. It appears that the caller will not stop until he answers the phone. 

Lexus had a deep scowl in his face. Leaving him with no other choice, he accepted the call in a really deep and indifferent voice, "What?"

"What? What?! That's how your answer your call? You unfilial son! And how dare you drop a call from your mother?" Song Wei bellowed with his gruff voice. Due to how loud his voice was, Lexus had to turn his phone away from him to avoid it.
