67 67 Grandpa He's Pain

Grandpa He could not help but shake in anger. His eyes were glaring daggers at Lexus' smug smile. If he could, he would have already pounced at him and rip that provoking smile of his. He so wanted to beat the daylights out of this man. Shameless! So Shameless!

"Don't assume that you already won her over completely. I will get my precious granddaughter from you." Grandpa He snapped as he pointed his cane at Lexus. However, he knew that his empty words won't have much effect on Lexus, but that smile is just too irritating, too aggravating to the point of making him want to punch that face which seduced his innocent granddaughter. He could not help spat some words. 

Lexus sat back down in a really laid-back manner. His previous anger toward He Tian have all long gone. Lexus' mischievous eyes stared at He Tian before saying, "Grandfather, you really don't have to worry about your granddaughter. She's in good hands. I will treat her well."

"As if I will believe your words! Just from that fox eyes of yours, I can tell that you are crafty! I won't be fooled by you." He Tian roared in a really loud voice, without caring that this was not his territory at all. He acted as if he was in his own property. He even forgot how to act like a good businessman for he had already ripped that mask and all that's left is the face of an overly doting grandfather. 

No one can relate to the pain the old man was feeling. He has a lot of regrets and now he was trying to mend his mistakes little by little. Just thinking about it pricks his aged heart with hundreds of needles. But why did it come to this? Was he too hasty with having to have his granddaughter get married and give him a great grandchild? He did say that but did not mean to. Ahh...he regretted it, truly.

Lexus saw the hurt in He Tian's old eyes. He was like a child robbed of his favorite toy. Even if Lexus was such a cold and indifferent man, he was brought up by his parents correctly. He was a filial son and was taught to respect elders that deserves respect. 

He Tian is a cunning old coot who can be upright for most of the times but can be a devil if provoked. He is involved in a lot of business and the businesses that he's involved with will definitely profit. However, he acts and does anything on a whim. He will also sometimes go on a rampage. He really is a very peculiar person. He was one of the people who was on top in the business world and can be on par with his Song family. He Tian is a really formidable person.

However, at this very moment, He Tian was not cunning nor was he dominatinng and formidable. In front of Lexus, he was an overprotective grandfather who just barged in his offfice all of a sudden and caused such commotion.

Lexus pursed his lips and his face suddenly turned serious and his eyes staring straight at Grandpa He. At least, he should let this worried grandpa be at ease for his wife, right?

"Grandfather." Lexus started as he called Grandpa He's attention. Surely, he did just that and continued, "I know that you worry about her but I am also worried for her. I care for her. I see my life spending with her forever. Ever since the moment I laid my eyes on her...she left a really deep impression on her. And seeing her bright face and her ice-melting smile really brightens my dull world."

He Tian listened seriously at Lexus. Grandpa He knew that Lexus was a really ruthless and merciless person and was really indifferent toward women. But then, he couldn't help but feel proud that his granddaughter is such an outstanding lady with a unique charm. Really, he can't do anything about this now.

"I will take care of her forever, including the family that we will create." Lexus looked at Grandpa He and noticed that the old man was silently looking at him with calm eyes. "I will not take her away from you, I just want to take care of her and...to love her."

Lexus' face turned a little pinkish as he uttered those few words at the end of his sentence. But seeing the worried old grandpa, he tell him that and he was just being truthful to his feelings. 

Grandpa He looked at the silent blush on Lexus' face and the uneasiness in his eyes. Right now, he could feel that he really have become old. His beloved granddaughter have finally found someone who truly accepted her. My Ling'er, if you're only here and witness this. 

Grandpa He sighed and have finally calmed down. He looked at his cup of tea and told his assistant, "Pour me another cup of tea."

Lexus stopped Assistant Ke and said, "Let me." With that, he poured some hot tea on He Tian's cup.

"Don't worry, Grandpa. I will definitely protect her and make her happy." Lexus swore that he will really do it. Just from the information he had gathered here in City D, he can almost say that he already knew October deeply. And from the information, he knew how much suffering his wife had gone through but she was strong. She overcame her past and stood on her own two feet to rise on top.  

Grandpa He silently received the tea that Lexus have offered to him and looked at it blankly. "You do know that my granddaughter don't show her emotions, right? Will you still like her?"

"No need to worry about that, grandpa." Lexus smirked and confidently said, "I can make her life more colorful and bring a smile on her face.

"Hmph! As if it's easy. I haven't even seen her distort her face or be angry, so how can you make her smile?" Grandpa He shook his head and took a sip from his cup.

"I've already made her smile." Lexus' smile broadened even more as he looked at the old man almost choke in his tea.

"I don't believe you. I haven't seen her smile ever since her mother died." Grandpa He received the handerchief that Assistant Ke had given him and wiped his mouth. "Don't be absurd."

Lexus laughed delightedly. That's right. He was the only one who can make his wife show such dazzling emotions. With this, he felt more arrogant to the point of being conceited. It was really irritating Grandpa He but if his words were true, then it's fine. As long as his granddaughter is happy, even if he is reluctant, he will support her and protect her in the shadows. Just that and he will be contented.
