63 63 Missing Her

October looked at the reports beside her and type on her laptop. Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. "Enter."

Soon after, her secretary came in with another batch of documents on her hand. Without looking up, she quickly pointed to a certain place on her table and let her place it there.

Yun Xixi stood silently as she looked at the focused October looking intently on the laptop. She was mesmerized and couldn't help but admire her more. However, she also pity her.

How can someone as amazing as her boss have such a scumbag of a father? Was he blind? Yes! He must be! He was seriously stupidly blind to see how brilliant his daughter was. She was like the epitome of a high-class lady yet he discarded her?

That father is so short-sighted too. Well, he does not deserve to be her father so this arrangement is not something she could not agree more.

October noticed that Yun Xixi was still here with her and stood unmoving. She paused and looked coolly at her and saw her sparkling eyes looking intensely at her. "Is there something else, Xixi?"

"Ah---Yes. I mean no, director." Yun Xixi stood in attention. She bowed her head and headed out of the door in an instant.

However, Yun Xixi's head popped in again and asked, "Director, do you want anything to drink? Or eat?"

"..." October looked calmly at the nervous Yun Xixi. Seeing this, her secretary got even more anxious. After a moment, she finally opened her mouth to reply, "An apple."

"Okay." Yun Xixi giddily said. She then carefully closed the door and called someone to buy her some apples.

For about 15 minutes later, the apples arrived. It was shiny, big, and red. It also looked quite fresh. She took 1 apple and smelled it's unique scent and just from that, she could tell the sweetness of it.

Nodding her head in satisfaction, she put it back on the basket and went to knock on the door again as she announced that the apples have already arrived. She entered the room that was still filled with uniform clicking sounds from the typing of October on her laptop.

"Thanks." October said and stopped. Almost immediately, her eyes landed on the basket full of apples that Yun Xixi was holding.

Yun Xixi noticed that her directors eyes were glued on the apples on her hand. Flinching, she put it carefully on October's table as she suggested, "Do you want me to peal it for you, Director?"

"Yes, that would be great. Thanks, Xixi." After that, October turned her attention back on the report she was making and just let Yun Xixi do what she wanted to do. Even if it was peeled or not, as long as it were apples, she will eat it all up. However, she does not remember to ever liked eating apples. Why now? Is she...craving?

October paused for a moment but immediately recovered. Even if she was craving or not, as long as she can eat it, all is good.

Yun Xixi went to the mini-kitchen in the floor and started peeling the apple skillfully. After that, she sliced it all up into small chunks that was easy for October to eat. Carefully putting it on a bowl, she placed it on the side of the table.

Yun Xixi find these small chores fulfilling. She was really happy to be of help to her superior and she was really excited to meet her demands, even if it will be difficult.

"Here." October grabbed 2 apples from the basket and held it toward Yun Xixi. Even if she liked to eat these apples, she knew that she can't finish this all up.

"Thank you, Director." Yun Xixi did not expect that her boss will give her some too. She thought that eating these apples was such a waste. Should she not eat these? Yun Xixi was reluctant to eat it.

Apparently, October saw her hesitation while receiving the apples. Raising an eyebrow, she asked, "You don't like it?"

"No, I like it. I love apples, Director." Yun Xixi abruptly replied as she got a little panicked. Did her boss notice her hesitation?

After receiving her apples, Yun Xixi silently went out of October's office and happily held the apples with great care as if she was afraid that the apples will rot at any moment.

Yun Xixi looked at the apples on her hand. It was shiny and it's smelled really sweet. Cleaning it up, she took a bit from the apple and the crunchiness and sweetness of it's juice flowed into her and filled her mouth.

She was happy that got to receive these apples for her to eat. She was relishing every bite of it. In a blink of an eye, she finished eating the apples.

October, on the other hand, also finished eating her apples. After that, she grabbed a bounded papers and started flipping though it.

She was drowning in her work. She even almost forgot to have a break for lunch, good thing that her stomach rumbled on time. Seems like she can't skip her meals now that she has to eat food for two.

After lunch, October received a call from Lexus. "Hello?"

"My wife, did you eat already?" Lexus' domineering voice sounded.

"Yes, I did." October replied rather flatly but she heard him grunted and grumbled.

"I want to eat your food." Lexus coldly said, as if pouting like a child. Good thing that Assistant Yu was not there in his office for if he heard him say that, he might really get goosebumps all over his body.

Hearing him say that, October felt warm and her eyes shown for a second before turning back to a normal one. "I'll cook for you tonight."

"Mm. Okay." Lexus grinned. He then looked at the time on his wrist watch and frowned when he saw that it was still just 1 pm. Tch. He still needs to wait for a few long hours? How can his stomach be able to survive till that time?

"For now, eat some food. Don't skip your meal." October reminded him, afraid that he might forget about it or just skip it."

Lexus' grin on his face widened even more when he heard a trace of worry in her cold yet melodious voice. "Okay."

After their short conversation on the phone, Lexus looked at his phone blankly as he immediately missed her already. Should he call her again? But she might be working now?

Thinking of this, he almost crushed his phone with his bare hands as he have unknowingly clenched it tightly. Good thing that Assistant Yu entered the room and noticed his unnatural expression and so stopped him in time.
