47 47 Raining with Sweetness

"A-assistant Ke, my precious darling granddaughter just said a very good joke. She said that she's pregnant." Grandpa He mechanically turned his head to look at his assistant standing on his side while letting out a forced laugh. "And what's more, she jokingly said that she's already married. Married!"

Assistant Ke's mind went blank and gradually let out cold sweat and a shudder as he noticed that dark and ominous face of his master who was letting out such killing intent. Surely, his master was out for blood. Right now, he also doesn't know how to pacify this raging demonic beast who just got its cub stolen from the nest.

Grandpa He laughed out loud as he just heard the most outrageous thing from his own granddaughter.

"Grandpa..." October frowned in worry. It seemed that it was too much for her grandpa to take that all in. Hearing his forced laugh made October really guilty but because she knew that her grandpa was the only relative she has left who truly cared for her, she wanted to not keep any secrets from him as much as possible.

"Granddaughter, that was really a nice joke. Ha-ha. Right?" Grandpa He gritted his teeth as he tried his best to control his rampaging fury. "Right, granddaughter? You are still not married."

October steeled her heart as firmness showed on her eyes. She's really reluctant to tell this but she has to do this. "Grandpa, I'm really pregnant and I'm already married."

"...curse that man...curse that man...curse that man..." Grandpa He mumbled again and again as his eyes turned white as if his soul just floated out from his body.

"Grandpa! Are you okay?" October got so worried as it showed on her eyes. However much she called, there were no any answer on the other end of the phone till it got cut off. She looked at her phone and her frown deepened and then sighed. She's really done it now.

Fixing her things slowly as she prepared to go home, she glanced at the window only to see that it was raining. Seeing this, a flash of a memory passed her mind. The spacious office got even more empty, colder, and lonely.

While being engrossed in that memory, she finally snapped out of it when she heard her phone rang again. This time, she looked at the caller ID and immediately got shaken and her heart beating fast.

October took a deep breath before answering it, "Hello?"

"Mm. I'm already outside waiting for you." Lexus said as his deep cold voice sounded so soothing making her loneliness disappear into thin air.

October abruptly stood up from her chair making a sharp scrape on the floor so loud that even Yun Xixi heard it from outside.

"Director? Is everything okay?" Yun Xixi's worried voice was heard by the door while knocking.

"Y-yes. I'm okay." October said stammeringly. It would have been okay then but she heard Lexus' soft chuckle making her face turn red.

Coughing dryly to cover her embarrassment, she said calmly, "Okay, I'm going down now."

"Mm. I'll wait for you here, my wife." Lexus said as he looked at the pouring rain outside.

They are currently parked right in front of the Halo Company's main door. He was planning to pick her up a little earlier but thinking that his wife is such a workaholic who will most possibly abide by the laws and regulations, he controlled himself and waited bitterly for his wife for another few hours.

However, picking her up like this and even waiting for her outside, even if it's sunny, rainy, or snowy, he will gladly do it all for her. He didn't know that doing something like this for someone else will make him this happy.

Assistant Yu, on the other hand, felt more colder and colder especially when he saw that creepy smile on his young master's face through the rear-view mirror. The weather is making him cold, the temperature inside the car which has its heater turned on is still cold for him, and even his relationship is cold.

Slowly alighting from the car and opening the only umbrella he has, he stood with back straight in the pouring rain with his hand tucked in the pocket of his thick coat. Lexus waited patiently in front of the door, his eyes glued at it waiting to see a familiar silhouette to appear. His coat was slowly getting soaked but he didn't mind it one bit. In fact, he was too focused on something else that he was not able to notice it.

October was only wearing her usual clothes and doesn't have any coat on. Still, she doesn't mind getting wet or a little cold from the rain.

Finally, the elevator dinged and again her heart couldn't calm down. She calmly got out and went her way toward the exit, followed by Yun Xixi.

Clicking sounds from her heels rang on the massive lobby as the employees said goodbyes to her. She nodded her head at them, still remaining calm and expressionless like she always have been since they knew her.

At this time, however, they saw her stop on her heels and was staring intently at the front door. Curious, they trailed her gaze and landed on the figure outside.

Who is that?

This was the question all of the employees asked on themselves.

Yun Xixi tilted her head curiously and turned her gaze back on her boss' face only to see a sight she didn't expect at all. She was instantly awestruck. All of the employees were awestruck at the sight before them. Some were even rubbing their eyes as to make sure that they were not hallucinating at all.

An angel...no, more like an Ice Goddess?

The woman before them was emanating such a soft aura which could be clearly seen from her shining eyes and soft and serene face that they can almost say that she was smiling. However, it still didn't hide the fact that she was so radiant and beautiful to the point the it was so otherworldly. Such an untainted being, was this the same Ice Director standing in front of them?

Suddenly, she started to take a step then two till her steps became more fast almost to the point of sprinting toward the door. In a blink of an eye, she already reached the door then opened it to go out into the rain.

Lexus' eyes immediately glowed when he saw that all too familiar figure of his woman, his wife, and the mother of his child. His smile widened and slowly walked to her only to see her eyes shining and looking at him with a soft gaze. As they neared each other, they looked into each other's eyes and they can see that in their eyes, reflected on it was the person standing before them as if they can't see anything else.

"Let's go home." Lexus softly said as skillfully wrapped his arms around his shoulders while tilting the umbrella to lean more toward October in order for her not to get rained on.

In front of their shocked eyes, they saw their Ice Director walking toward the man holding an umbrella. Those who was near the door, unfortunately, was still not able to make out the man's face because aside from the rain, his face was almost covered by the umbrella he was holding. However, they can surely say that the man was handsome just basing on his figure alone.

They were not able to react immediately and just woke up from their shock when they saw the car drove off and vanished from their sight. After that, a commotion broke out.
