46 46 Two Bombs For Grandpa

"Assistant Director Park..." Director Sheng started as he looked at the indifferent woman in front of him with helplessness. "The other Directors are frowning over the commotion last night that involves you. However, we can't turn a blind eye to this."

October sat straight on her seat facing Director Sheng as she listened to him in all earnest. As expected, they can't sit still.

"Because of last night, the company's stock price lowered even if it was for a bit. And you do know that we can't tolerate such thing." Director Sheng slowly said to October but still didn't get much reaction. It was just like when he first met her, calm and expressionless. The only time that there was a little bit of reaction from her was when she got promoted to being an Assistant Director. At that time, her eyes were shining brilliantly. It may not be that discernable but it was still there.

October lowered her eyes as she let Director Sheng continue his talk. She was also aware that the stock market have been affected, just that she didn't really believe that it got affected because of her.

"The other directors were a little furious about it and was requesting for me to give you some light punishment but I held them up saying that this was your first slip up." Director Sheng was one of those people who looks aftee his employees really well, especially to those who he deemed as talented or hardworking, regardless of their gender or age.

October, however, was a special case. He looked after her because he sees her as his own daughter. He also felt pity for this young woman who was young and yet so strong, firm, and independent already. She can even stand her own ground when faced with pressure from a lot more older people in the industry.

"Director Park, if you are in need of help or you need someone to talk to, just know that I am here for you. I see you more like a daughter. You know that, right?" As he looked more, Director Sheng felt more and more helpless as he still can't see any changes from her. Sighing, he leaned on his table clasping both his hands.

October looked up to meet Director Sheng's kind eyes and slowly nodded her head. She doesn't know he was so kind to her but can't help but to accept it still for she have never received such kindness from someone else from her grandpa and her best friend, although that best friend of hers has yet to show up after years of no communication.

"So, can you tell me something a little bit of that commotion last night? I was invited too but something came up and have to pass." Director Sheng asked.

"..." October pursed her lips and felt conflicted. She was grateful for him but is it really okay for her to tell someone else about it? If she will tell him, will Lexus be angry about it?

There was no other people who knew about their marriage aside from Assistant Yu. So this can be considered a secret, right?

Director sighed defeatedly when he saw her pursing her lips. "Okay. I won't pursue it for now. But let me know if you are ready."

He really can't still crack this young lady. How she be this stubborn?

"Okay. Thank you, Director." October bowed her head sincerely.

"Mm. That's all for now. You can go." Director Sheng weakly said with a bitter smile hanging on his lips and turned to stare at the afternoon sun.

"Yes. If you'll excuse me." October bowed again and walk toward the door only to pause and say, "I will tell you more about it after I settle everything, Uncle." After that, she closed the door and went back to her office.

Yes, she has to settle things first with Lexus because she can't make her grandpa be always in the dark especially regarding this matter. Just thinking about it made her worry even more. She doesn't know what her grandpa will do. Will he accept Lexus? Will he be happy about her pregnancy? And the fact that she already married someone without letting her grandpa know about it? The more she thinks about it, the more her head ache.

Tomorrow, she'll tell her grandpa about it all.

After making up her mind, she straight up went back to her office only to be informed that her phone kept on ringing.

Nodding her head on Yun Xixi, she looked at her phone to find that there really were 12 missed calls and it was from Lexus. Her small heart instantly leaped from her chest. Should she call him back?

As soon as she was about to dial his number, her phone suddenly rang making her so surprise that she almost dropped her phone. After catching her phone, she immediately calmed herself down and answered, "Hello? Is there anything else you want to talk about?"

"Haha. I did not expect for you to answer my call this fast, granddaughter. Were you expecting me? Or did you miss me that much? Or...were you expecting someone else's call? Hmm?" Grandpa He's loud voice blared on October's phone making her freeze for a moment before recovering.

Making a dry cough to hide her embarrassment, she said "Grandpa."

"What?" Grandpa He laughed but his face was dark and his eyes were glinting with fury. "Are you going to explain to me now what happened?"

October felt like there was a lump on her throat that she can't swallow. She looked outside the orange skies and sighed. "So you heard."

"Hmph!" Grandpa He was so furious when he got the news from the people he secretly arranged to watch over his granddaughter. Such a thing...those bastards! Just thinking about it made his face go red and even his eyes were almost spitting fire, his fists clenched tightly and pounded the table so hard as if to somehow release his fury.

"Grandpa, listen." October took a deep breath as she tried to arrange her words in order for her grandpa to not be too shocked about it.

"How can you be this calm, ha?! That son of a b*tch. He dared to lay his gdd*mn dirty hands on my precious lovely cute granddaughter?! GGrrrr!" Grandpa He roared on the phone while pounding his fists on his table from time to time. His assistant tried to calm him down but to no avail. "Assistant Ke! Burn that pig's house! Burn all of his villas! Burn it all!"

"Grandpa, there's no need for you to do that." October calmly said as she blankly looked at her now empty table.

"Wha--...Why?! Do you still want to protect that useless bast*rd of a father of yours? No, you can't stop me from burning his house that he calls mansion but it can't even be compared to my smallest villa!" Grandpa He gritted his teeth. That bast*rd...

October sighed and said with a cold and firm voice making her grandpa clam up. "Grandpa, I'll take care of them. There's no need for you to act up."

Hearing his precious granddaughter's firm voice made He Tian pause and then an evil grin spread on his old face. "Oh? Is that so?" He burst a loud laugh.

"Grandpa, regarding about that pregnancy thing..."

"Yeah, I know. There's no need for you to worry about that. I know that they all made it up." Grandpa He immediately dismissed this thought as he leaned on his executive chair comfortably.

"It true grandpa. I am pregnant." October said. As if that was not enough, she added, "And I'm already married."

There was no sound on the other line of the phone. October frowned and tried to call out for her grandpa but he was still silent.

Grandpa He, on the other hand, literally turned white and crumbled to dust on his chair in utter shock.
