18 18 Consequence

The scene that happened before everyone was not at all a sting in their eyes. But, in fact, it was a beautiful picture being painted in front of their very eyes. It was soft and it felt cold yet, at the same time, warm.

Both were beautiful in their own ways. The woman was cold and calm and gave them the aura of an Ice Goddess that wandered in their mortal world. She was cold and indifferent yet not to the point of pushing people away. The man was also cold but dangerous and ruthless making one quiver in fear; he gave them this aura of a monarch from the depths of hell that crawled out of the fiery pit and walked into the earth. He has this dominating presence that makes one kneel in obeisance or just suffocate in fear.

They thought that such 2 people with almost the same atmosphere will not and cannot see eye to eye. These 2 would clash harshly and violently. For everyone, chillingness plus coldness is equal to an endless storm of snow that will left everyone freeze to their deaths in no time.

There was a saying that says "opposites do attract." This saying was widely known and was believed. But it turned out that this saying was not applied to everyone, especially with the temperament that these 2 persons shared.

Everyone expected a clash that will result in a bad ending and never did they expect it to be something like this: something so beautiful with a unique flare that will leave them freeze in coldness yet also melt them in their warmth. It really was such a peculiar feeling they get.

None of them dared to disturb them; none of them could breath loudly. They just watched the couple who seemed to really have forgotten that there were other people in the room. The couple was in their own world. It was a blissful thing to witness.

As the couple stared at each other, a sound suddenly broke that cozy atmosphere.

Immediately, everyone turned their eyes simultaneously to where it came from. They blinked their eyes blankly and curiously.

Lexus saw that the woman in his arms blinked her eyes and eventually turned red. She immediately ducked her head as to avoid his prying eyes.

Seeing her getting embarrassed and turning red made Lexus' eyes dilate in delight. He was very much satisfied and happy at seeing her in this state.

"L-let go." October meekly said, still avoiding the eyes of everyone. If there was a hole somewhere, she'll definitely run there and hide.

This was so humiliating. She never thought that of all the time to make a sound, it was just at this time! She wanted to scream in frustration but how can she when there were a lot of people looking at...her?

Wait...

October's eyes widened a little when she just realized what they did in front of these many people. She felt even more embarrassed. She wanted to faint so bad but she can't. It was frustrating!

"...Okay." Lexus replied while looking at her with amused eyes. He decided to let her go.

But how can October let Lexus do that? Now that she just realized what they did?

October instead clutched his suit and clung onto him like there was no tomorrow until it got crumpled at her hands. She then buried her face in his chest to hide her embarrassment. And then another sound was heard.

Everyone in the room stifled their laughter. They were thinking of how cute she was acting right now. No one in the room judged her or ridiculed her, instead they looked at her with warm eyes.

Lexus let out a soft chuckle that sounded so sweet and warm. 'Ahh. She's really cute.' He thought.

October slapped his chest in frustration but still managed to cover her face. He smirked as he decided to stop teasing her least she'll explode, although that idea seems fun too.

"Prepare our food." Lexus ordered while raising his voice a little that was enveloped with coldness just as he was before though his eyes never left the woman in his arms.

October slowly looked up and noticed that he was also staring at her with such burning eyes. She knew she was out of her character right now. She knew she has to stop. She knew she has to avoid him. But how exactly will she do that?

Lexus raised his brow when he noticed that she was looking at him blankly. Is she thinking of someone else? Right now? When he's in front of her? No! He can't let her do that.

Lexus had his eyes turn a little darker and swiftly and smoothly swept October off of her feet. She let out a startled yelp in the process.

"What are you doing?!" She exclaimed as she glared at him. "Put me down!"

"Hmph!" Lexus dismissed it immediately as he started making his way toward their table by the window.

"You..." October gripped his suit jacket tightly. Can't he see that she already lost a lot of face? And now he's carrying her like a princess!

"Stop struggling." Lexus coldly said.

"No! I said put me down!" October refused and started moving around while being carried in his arms.

Lexus grunted in annoyance and stopped walking. He then looked at the stubborn woman in his arms as his eyes glinted dangerously, "Stop struggling or there'll be consequences."

"Just put me down!" October stubbornly replied. What can he do to her? What consequences? She's not afraid of any.

Lexus knew she'll say something like this. He knew she's hard to manage but that's what makes him want her more. He then started walking fast toward their table and suddenly kicked the chair intended for October away making a loud crashing sound echoing in the room.

October pursed her lips and glared at him openly.

Silence descended upon them.

Lexus then walked toward his chair and sat while he swiftly placed October on his lap and also making sure that she was comfortable. When he noticed that she was going to complain, he cut her off by giving her a warning, "Refuse or..." he trailed as he leaned to her ear and whispered seductively and dangerously, "...or I'll eat you up instead."

October automatically closed her mouth and swallowed the words she was about to say and stiffly sat on his lap. She knew from the look he's giving her and his tone that he will really do what he just said but she also can't help glaring daggers at him while furiously blushing. This was really humiliating.

Assistant Yu looked at the two's stone-faced expressions and their stiff bodies. He was so frustrated while looking at them. How can the heavens sent him such troublesome masters? Just look at them? The atmosphere around them is so bitingly cold! Where was that soft atmosphere they had awhile ago?

Even if he wanted to scream at the heavens, Assistant Yu knew that they didn't and wouldn't care about it. He sighed defeatedly and just continued to instruct the room's attendants in serving the food to their masters.

With Assistant Yu's instructions, they were able to smoothly present all of the food that was ordered beforehand into the table. Everyone was relieved that they didn't made any mistakes else they will be fired.

October looked at the table that was filled with food in different colors, scents, sizes. She felt her stomach protesting. What was wrong with her now? Why was she hungry like this?

Lexus was looking intently at the woman on his lap. He saw that she looked really hungry and also noticed how she swallowed her saliva.

He then turned to the table and got his chopsticks on his hand and picked up a grilled pork sliced evenly. He then slowly brought it near October's half-opened mouth.

October looked at the pork in front of her then to Lexus. What the heck is he doing now?
