16 16 Small World
October literally run out of her office to escape the curious gaze she's been receiving from her secretary. She definitely can't just disclose her identity and connection to the He family. Although she knew that her secretary is very loyal to her, she just couldn't make herself do so.
When the elevator door opened to the first floor, she gracefully came out with her usual calm and cool air. As the employees saw it was her, their eyes glowed in awe and fascination about their Ice Director and almost gnashed their teeth in annoyance as they remembered that the person they labeled as her 'lover' stopped giving her flowers. When they heard from Yun Xixi that their Ice Director seemed upset, they were also upset.
October was oblivious to all of the adoring gazes the employees used as they looked at her walking confidently across the lobby to the door. If she noticed, she would still not understand their gazes. That's how dense she was. Her EQ was just too low at the moment.
She looked toward the glass doors and immediately spotted the low-key yet luxurious black car parked in front of the building. She noticed that this is not the usual car her grandpa usually use when he visited her here in City D.
October swiftly made her way toward the car with even clicking of her black shoes while being accompanied by the employees' curious gazes. It really made her uncomfortable for she felt like she was some sort of an animal displayed in a zoo but she felt that there were no animosity from them.
When she was already near the black car, she immediately noticed the man dressed in a black suit standing attentively beside car. She was also not surprised when he also noticed her.
It was really a good thing that he was informed from his superior and was then showed him a picture of her, making him avoid his end if he made even a slight mistake.
When she was already almost a meter away, he immediately opened the car door swiftly and bowed to greet her respectfully, "Young madam."
"Mm. Thank you." October felt that it was weird to hear someone call her "young madam" for she was always called "young miss" by her grandpa's people. October wondered but thought that he may probably be a new driver hired by her grandpa.
With that in mind, she immediately get into the car and made herself comfortable in it.
The driver closed the door behind October and walked around into the driver's seat. He hopped in and immediately drove toward their destination, Blue Gale Restaurant.
Blue Gale Restaurant is a five-star restaurant that's been really booming in business since it started it's business 10 years ago. This restaurant is also known for it's food and desserts and even good wine. The restaurant itself looked elegant and classy and the food on the menu are quite pricey but worth the price. That's why only people with enough wealth or from rich families can afford to dine here.
October looked out the window, watching people walking in the streets and lights flickering of different colors. Some were alone walking, some with their kids, some were in the arms of their lover. It really was like a beautiful painting that October wanted to have but knew that she can't.
The car stopped on the red light, making October scan the crowd nonchalantly with more clarity. As she swept her gaze over the crowd, she saw a girl with her back facing her. She felt that she looked familiar but she can't seem to remember where and who it was.
The girl was hugging the guy as if her life depended on it. The guy was looking down on her while stroking her hair softly and sometimes running his hands through her hair.
October was in the car with a black tinted window so she shamelessly looked at the sweet couple unreservedly. Although she wanted to see the face of the guy, she unfortunately couldn't see the face of the guy because he was docking his head low and most of his hair covered his face.
October blinked her eyes and thought of stopping herself from staring at them. As she was just about to turn her head away from them, the guy suddenly lifted his head.
She raised her brow and felt her heart dropped. Although she still looked calm on the outside, she was extremely shock at the sight in front of her. She was so familiar with that face. How can she ever forget?
'So he's back.' October thought. She didn't think she'd see him again especially in this sort of place ans in this sort of situation. After what happened that day, she was not able to see him again. Really was such a small world. Looking at them acting so sweetly in a crowded street, October don't feel much. She was just that numb with such feelings.
She glanced at the girl that was in his arms and felt that she really looked familiar to her the more she looked at that back.
The girl slowly turned her head sideways but the car started and drove again when the light turned green.
"Tch."
The driver heard a click of the tongue and looked at the woman sitting at the back through the rear view mirror. She looked calm and had a blank face, the same look she has when he first saw her walk out of the building.
The driver knew he heard it behind him but the driver seemed to not be able to connect that unladylike sound to her. He then decided to just forget about it and pass it as if it was just his imagination.
But the driver thought wrong. October really did click her tongue. She was a little upset and thought that she was almost able to see that girl's face if they waited for just a second more.
After 20 minutes of silence, they finally arrived at the restaurant. October got out of the car with the help of the driver.
The driver didn't forget to bow and said, "We have arrived, young madam."
October nodded and turned her attention to the entrance of the restaurant. She noticed that there was someone wearing a black suit walking toward her and knew that he's also a bodyguard.
Young madam, please follow me." He slightly bowed and gestured to follow hum inside.
The attendant immediately turned and walked into the restaurant while October just silently followed him.
Once inside, she was immediately greeted with a soft melody played in a piano. She really felt like out-of-place in her business suit when she saw the long dresses that the people wore inside.
She knew that she can't turn back now and so, she sighed internally and continued to follow the attendant who went upstairs where private rooms were located.
After walking for a few meters, the attendant finally stopped in and turned to October. He bowed respectfully and said, "Young madam, young master is waiting inside."
"...young master?" October raised her brow in confusion.
Without answering her, he opened the door, "Please." He said and gestured for October to get inside.
October felt like something is off. Why was her heart leaping furiously in her chest? She felt nervous. What is this feeling?
When October saw what's inside the room, her breathing literally stopped and her heart leapt and got stuck in her throat.
October found herself in a daze and got herself frozen in shock. She knew she needed to run but she heard the door behind her slammed shut. She felt cornered.
