12 12 Grandpa Is Stubborn

Hearing her grandfather's arrangement for her made the nerve on her head popped and pulsated. This grandfather of hers really does his own thing without asking for the involved party's opinion, especially when the one that's involved was his granddaughter. It really made October wonder how he handled his business.

"Grandfather..." October started as her voice was tinge with a cold and biting warning, making her grandfather shudder. "What did you say? I was not able to clearly hear you. Can you repeat that, grandfather?" October said as her lips twitched in annoyance. She was trying so hard not to snap. To be honest, she was already on the verge of snapping. Especially when she heard her grandpa to quit her hard-earned job. This was unthinkable!

"Gra-granddaughter..." Grandpa He felt nervous when he heard her granddaughter's chilling voice that was directed at him.

"I know you're just worried about me but the way I am right now isn't of much help for you. It would also affect your relationship with my uncles and cousins. It may even affect your company." October sighed as she tried to quell the anger boiling inside her and be reasonable with her grandfather.

"Fine! If you don't want to work for me now, I'll still have you work for me in the future. I won't give up." Grandpa He stubbornly said. "So, who's the darn bastard who laid his hand on you?"

October glanced on the flowers on her table and her face immediately bloomed spreading to her ears and neck after remembering Lexus' devilish face and ocean blue eyes that makes herself alarming drown into it. She coughed dryly to hide her uneasiness, "The-there's no need for that, grandpa."

"No! I can't let him go just like that! Having the guts to touch my, He Tian, granddaughter must have to taste a good slapping from me. Now tell me, who is that shameless bastard! I will burn his house and all of his properties!" As always, Grandpa He showed his dominating side and acts especially cool towards her granddaughter.

The assistant standing behind Grandpa He can't help but slumped his shoulders defeatedly when he heard the words of his boss. If this great ancestor really does cause arson in City D, he will have to be the one to clean up his mess. But there's nothing really he can do about it for he knows how much this old man dotes on this granddaughter of his. Just like his master previously said, he will let this granddaughter take over maybe not only one but all of his companies.

"Grandpa, I can't let you do that. It'll be a really big problem for me if you'll cause such an uproar. Don't make this small problem get any bigger." October massaged her temple. This stubborn grandpa of hers really won't let this matter go.

"Fine! I won't burn his properties. Just tell me his name then." Grandpa He gritted his teeth as his hand clutched the armrest of his chair so tight that its almost on the verge of breaking. This stubborn girl just won't tell him anything. Can't she just rely more on this awesome grandpa of hers that will do anything for her?

Grandpa He's heart ached for his granddaughter who suffered a lot. He owes this girl a lot of things and regretted that he wasn't there when major things happen to her. That's why, he will definitely let that bastard suffer the consequences of harming his precious granddaughter.

"No, I won't tell you. That was just a minor thing and I'm already old enough to make my own decisions." Although October was happy that her grandpa was concerned of her, she would still stubbornly decline his offer nor saying that man's name.

October's eyes flashed an unknown light when that man's name crossed her mind. She knew that that was just a fleeting memory.

"But--"

"No, grandpa." October really felt helpless of how persistent he was. She pleaded, "Please, just this once grandpa. Let this matter go."

Stubborn as he was, Grandpa He sure knows that his granddaughter was also severely stubborn. He then gritted his and pursed his lips.

Not getting an answer, October added, "I'll do anything for grandpa. I'll do anything you want me to do for once."

Getting such an offer made the old man's face brim with mischievous light. Seeing such a face from his master, Assistant Ke's head ached. He knew that look all too well. He'll just gonna have to brace himself for anything.

Grandpa He burst to a booming laugh that reverberated his whole office. Hearing such a laugh, October knew that her grandpa has something up his sleeve again. She's pretty sure that it's not good, especially for her.

"Since you've said it like that so insistently, it would be a waste to not accept it." Grandpa He laughed again. Well, he'll just let someone investigate what happened to his granddaughter last Saturday and eventually find out who that darn man was.

"I'll tell you when it is so just be ready anytime. I'l have everything arrange for you." Grandpa He leaned on his chair contently while grinning mischievously.

October knew she can't escape now for she already promised. "Yes, grandpa. I understand."

"Good, good. I'll be checking on you from time to time. Also, don't you dare keep such troublesome things from me again." And with that, Grandpa He ended the call with a satisfied look on his old face.

October fixed her hair and decided that she should go home now as it was already pretty late. She also reminded herself that she should stop by the grocery to buy some ingredients for her to cook at home.

While organizing her things, she was reminded of her brother's upcoming birthday when she saw the invitation laying silently on her table.

Not to hide it, October wants to see her brother. She was eager to see how he looks but, at the same time, she doesn't. She was scared of something, either his acceptance to her or his rejection. But knowing that she doesn't have any experience with kids, she doesn't know what she'll do facing one.

October grabbed the invitation and opened it. With the help of the bright lights outside, she was able to read the words written inside.

"So it's still next month." Guess Fu Yung really wanted to make sure that she will go there. What does she even want to do next after her successful scheme last time? Why can't she just let go?

October closed the invitation and tossed it in the drawer of her table. She'll deal with it later.

After October finished organizing her things, she walked out of her room with her bag and the bouquet of flowers. She felt awkward as she walked out of the office while holding flowers. She was not used to it at all but she can't deny that it felt good to receive something.

Knowing that she can't receive such gifts more than once, she already felt satisfied with it. At least in this life, she received one.

Unknown to her, her face were graced with a small smile making her glow brightly and beautifully and the atmosphere she gaze off was soft and warm. Unfortunately, no one saw her at all but only the CCTVs in the hallway.
