10 XUEYAN GOT A JOB {II}

"Lady, excuse me but you need to sit and wait till you are called upon before you can make your way in," Secretary Jian said, blocking Feng Jiu's path.

"Excuse me, but who are you?"

"Oh, you don't know who I am and..."

"Sorry I'm not here for the interview." Feng Jiu said in-between Secretary Jian statement and was about to march into the acting CEO's office when the manager stepped out of the office.

"Oh, look who we have here. You are still the manager after all these years..." she paused to inspect him.

"Yes and you are?" the manager asked.

Flashing him a sweet smile Feng Jiu walked up to him and raised an eyebrow.

"It's you...Feng..."

"Feng Jiu. Where's my father?" she asked with a serious tone.

His eyes popped out and he left his mouth open for what seemed like three seconds before returning to his senses. "He... he should be in the office." Nobody knew Feng Jiu because she had gone overseas many years ago but if you looked closely you'd see the striking resemblance she shared with Feng Riu. But the Secretary wasn't able to recognize her. But he knew her.

"Ye, ye." she gave him a wink before turning to the Secretary.

"Now talk to the manager as I have important issues to attend to." Feng Jiu said and walked into Xing Rong Bo's office smiling sheepishly.

He was in the middle of checking out the files when the door swung open without a knock, with a frown on his face he looked up only to see two glistening eyes of a young girl he would never forget, "Jiu?" Rong Bo asked with obvious excitement.

Feng Riu and Feng Jiu was the children of his late friends, Mr and Mrs Feng. They both died through a fatal road accident twenty years ago, leaving the twins in his care.

"Yes. Haha. Old man you are still full of vibe and vigour," Feng Jiu said, she was well known for her lack of manners unlike her well behaved brother.

"Is that the right way to greet your elders?" enquired Rong Bo.

"Sorry sir!" Jiu placed her two palms in front of her and bowed. Smiling from ear to ear Rong Bo said.

"Hehe, welcome back my child."

"Did you miss me?"

"No." he gave a straight answer and sat back on his chair to reveal a smirk which Feng Jiu didn't seem to miss.

"I see," she snorted. "I will come over during the weekend to say hi to mother and to the family but you won't spoil the surprise, would you?"

"No my child, I won't."

"Your child? but you just said you didn't miss me."

"Yes because you ran away from us and never called to check on us."

"I didn't need to because i know you put a tail on me." Not surprised to hear that he laughed out loud.

"You are really something. Always on alert."

"..."

That means he truly was the mastermind, she had only said it but just discovered he was truly behind it.

"How have you been?"

"Don't I look good?"

"Weren't you taught not to answer a question with a question Jiu?" he raised an eyebrow.

"Hehe," she laughed awkwardly and answered politely. "I have been good. I mean OK."

"You sure look good my child and i think it's high time you get married."

"Hell no! Look how young and innocent I am. i don't want to deal with the problems of a big family with a wicked mother in-law." She shook her head at the thought of it.

"You really should learn how to act and polish yourself as a lady. You got worse going to America."

"No, no, no. OK I will try and adjust and be more ladylike but I'm not getting married, not yet dad."

"I missed you calling me that but that is the only word you know that works on coaxing me..." he smiled while using his hands to support his chin.

"Ok then but Riu will be getting married soon that's..."

"What!?"

"Don't cut me off, brat. I'm still speaking."

"Sorry sir..." Feng Jiu smiled.

He couldn't help but smile more "Good, good. Let's have dinner later tonight."

"Sure..."

"Sir the recruits are waiting to be called upon." Secretary Cheng Jian said.

"You shouldn't butt into people's conversation." Feng Jiu sneered.

"Jiu, let's talk later tonight my child. it's been ages already."

"Ok, I'm leaving now." Feng Jiu bowed.

"You are still my child after all." Rong Bo smiled. Feng Jiu was easy to understand than Feng Riu who always had a serious unreadable expression. "Bye dad."
