16 You are nothing but a dirty liar

Su Lin slowly opened her eyes. She had pretty much lost her consciousness after the accident and did not remember much of what transpired afterward.

The blaring and piercing siren noises... the bright white lights.. the familiar chemical scent of the hospital.. she only remembered the bits and pieces.

Her whole body felt numb, but at the same time, every cell in her body was in chaos. She couldn't even sit up.

Su Lin frowned. As far as she knew, her body wasn't really injured. So what went wrong? She closed her eyes again and tried to scan her body using her soul strength.

"Hmm... Feeling tired are we?"

A familiar cold and frosty voice sounded from a corner of the hospital room. It jolted Su Lin back to reality from her deep inside her subconscious.

Annoyed and confused at the interruption, Su Lin uncomfortably looked towards the source of the voice.

A frigid impassive face met her gaze. Her so-called husband, Shi Meng was sitting in the room, eyeing her with animosity.

The man looked like he wanted to devour her completely. His entire aura was cruel and venomous. The animosity he felt for her couldn't be understated.

Coughing slightly, Su Lin answered his vicious gaze with a blank expression, "Isn't that obvious? I was in an accident."

"Good. Good. At least this time I know for a fact that you are not faking it." Shi Meng replied with a hidden twinkle in his eyes.

She couldn't understand what was wrong with this arrogant man. She had just suffered a major accident.

It was one thing if he didn't show care or concern for her, but to come here and treat her this coldly? Why is he suddenly so angry? Su Lin was confused.

"Umm... Can you please go back to being indifferent?" Su Lin muttered indignantly.

Hmm?? Ticked off by her rudeness, Shi Meng was further enraged. He was barely controlling himself from leaping forward and strangling the woman to death.

Ring Ring Ring

A loud phone call interrupted the murderous atmosphere. Shi Meng glared at her, before walking out to answer the call.

Seeing him come outside, his assistant rushed over and handed Shi Meng some files which needed his signature.

Su Lin's head doctor also took this opportunity to approach Shi Meng and update him on the circumstances. The man looked nervous. He was obviously bringing Shi Meng bad news and he was scared to deliver it.

"So, what you are saying is... that bitch has been faking her illness to everybody and managed to fool an entire hospital with competent doctors such as yourself??? All without leaving a single clue or mistake to trace it back to her???" Shi Meng loudly bellowed at the doctor.

The head doctor shivered and lowered his head in embarrassment and fear. He was helpless too. He really had no idea what was going on.

He had personally attended to the young madam before. She definitely had malignant stage 4 cancer and only a few days left to live. This was the truth. How can anybody fake this?!

And moreover, there is no cure. There is no magic bullet. So what the hell happened here? As a doctor with so many years of experience, even he couldn't completely answer this.

Only her spleen showed some signs of abnormal cells but a simple splenectomy solved everything.

The young madam was now mysteriously in perfect condition! She had nothing to fear and had a long life ahead of her.

Technically, the husband right here should be happy about this. After all his wife is no longer sick or dying, but the madman was angrily berating and threatening the doctor.

"Good... Good... This is good too. I have been getting bored with the same type of games lately." Shi Meng gazed at the woman inside the patient room with an evil glint in his eyes.

He brashly opened the door and walked towards Su Lin in long strides. The man then roughly grabbed Su Lin's chin.

"Happy now? You have successfully fooled me for so long. Congratulations. No one else has ever managed to achieve such a feat." He growled at her.

"Living at my home, under my nose and still managed to fool me thoroughly! You have got quite the talent."

"Tell me who is helping you? Is it the Lan family? Tell me." Shi Meng tightened his grasp on her chin and looked directly at the woman's unwavering brazen eyes.

"Tell me right now and maybe I will think about letting you live when all this is over?" He sneered.

Though the man's menacing eyes were trying their best to stab at her, Su Lin's face remained indifferent.

She had a vague idea of what was going on. Her husband was doubting her because her cancer disappeared overnight.

Heh. Su Lin was amused. She looked at the disdain and contempt on Shi Meng's face and sneered in return.

Nobody had ever dared to treat her this roughly. Well nobody alive.. and this guy, he sure seemed to have a death wish...

Her confident and arrogant face further angered Shi Meng.

"Interesting. You look quite confident. So your back up is that strong huh? You are not even afraid of losing your worthless life?" He chuckled precariously.

He let go of her chin, making Su Lin fall back onto the bed. He cruelly looked at her and mouthed, "You wanted that badly to be my wife?! To warm my bed? Pathetic."

"You are nothing but a dirty liar. Goodbye my darling wife. Good luck with your upcoming demise and destruction. Usually, I don't enjoy squishing ants. But this time... Ha Ha Ha..."

Shi Meng walked out, along with assistant, with his vulgar laughter echoing loudly on the hospital corridor...

...leaving behind a stupefied Su Lin.

"Did that guy just call me an ant?" Su Lin was stunned. Her lips curved upwards into a subtle, but murderous smile as she closed her eyes again to rest for a while.
